It is clean and basic. I was put in a room with no parking. The airport is not far away and the noise of the planes was a bit annoying. The office was locked most of the time and I was unable to speak to the staff about any of my issues.

Great place to stay. Clean rooms, great showers, comfortable beds. Was on a motorcycle and was able to park under a canopy right outside my front door and out of the rain.

Staff were fine, however no blankets for the beds or wifi advice etc until requested next day after a cold night in bed.

New owners are going to do a refurb which is needed but still very clean and comfortable. Julie the relief manager was outstanding. Although the restaurant was closed for Reno she cooked me the best home cooked meal at a remarkable cheap price. Thanks Julie you will see me again for sure.

All liquid dispensers in the shower were empty. Neither bedside lights were plugged in because the power outlet was adjacent to ones head in the bed. Anything placed on bedside table would stick to it. There was a band aid stuck to the bed quilt.

Room was clean, water was hot and good pressure. The staff were friendly and polite.

Frankly this was the worst motel we have stayed in for over 20 years. The only thong to it's favour was the friendliness of receptionist, Chris. No room service, bathroom door could not be closed due to rusted door frame. No proper maintenance has been carried out for many years. While present air conditioner worked well but the old rattler unit was still in place and the front panel fell off when I touched it.. Soap dispensers were useless and the only functional unit had not been refilled. Shower recesses are tiny and there was nowhere to put my soap. Remains of old attachments have not been repaired or removed. Water damage in the bathroom not repaired and paint blistering off. Chairs had bent legs which is a safety hazard - could be eaily fixed by bending the legs back to normal.. I must admit that the old refrigerator worked well but was a bit rusty. Another small plus was that the sheets were clean although I could not sleep with the over-firm pillow. My wife's vie of the two units we used was that it was "pretty tacky".

Booking and access were easy after a long day's drive with two young children. Room was clean and just right.

Extremely clean rooms with a smart tv

We were very unhappy with our motel room and how much we paid. it was so so old that the floor felt sticky. The smell was disgusting and it felt unclean. there was also no body soap to use. They have not taken it off of the listings as it is so badly needing work to be done. We should not have to cope booking, paying and staying in this disgust.

I appreciate the manager's help in making things right, but the room was unsuitable. I understand cockroaches are a reality for NQ, but having multiple in the room simultaneously is not good.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing stay. Room was dirty-noodles on chair, old sock under bed, hair in bed. Room in disrepair - window where my daughter slept could not close, she had to sleep with it open, curtains falling down, wall paper and paint peeling, walls were stained, plug behind bed not working , extractor fan barely working and stops, marks and mould in bathroom. Bed on wheels and moves, also uncomfortable. Pictures on website did not reflect the state of the room (room17). We would have gone elsewhere on arrival, but decided to stick it out due time constraints. I recommend not renting this family unit out, until it is fixed.

The reception welcome was good but the room was really disappointing. Very neglected, we couldn't use the fan because the light fitting underneath was coming loose and made a very unsafe whirring noise that was causing the fan to vibrate and make very loud noises. We used the air con instead which worked fine. The robe doors were rusty as were some of the light fittings. The freezer in the fridge was in need of a defrost, we could not keep our cold foods really cold. The room in general was of a poor standard, compared to where we had stayed the night before in Cardwell it was very disappointing.

Never got the room I booked. The window in the main room didn’t lock Room was very out dated. Haven’t received my email for the invoice. Nice lady at reception but probably not worth stay there again.

Needed last minute accommodation. Fantastic service, really helped me out. Nice large shower, and had a great sleep in a very comfortable large bed. Highly recommend

It’s a cheap place to stay, but there is a reason it is a cheap place to stay. Probably hasn’t been renovated the 60s, the beds were uncomfortable, and everything was just ever so slightly damp. I actually didn’t take a shower because I didn’t think I would fully dry afterwards and I slept with a towel over my pillow. Plus the whenever an airplane was taking or landing it was very loud.

I had a great sleep, bed was good, pillows & blanket good. Aircon was also good and I was happy with the tv. The light in the bathroom didn’t work, also one in the room was out. My curtains were off the track. So the only negative was upkeep needs more attention. For budget accommodation it was good but would have liked to have a shower not in the dark.

The management were wonderful and couldn’t do enough for you. The motel is older but the rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained with a good selection of appliances and stocked with quality tea and coffee. All a single traveler could want.

Upon arrival I was ‘investigated’ by the owner at reception, treated like a criminal, and rudely spoken to, while also being told that talking to much in reply to her questions made me look suspicious. ‘We get a lot of un-savouries here’ were her exact words. The place was clean but a dump, 100% would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor, and there was no proper lock on the door main door, only a chain, the old asylum feeding holes next to the un-lockable door meant the little security you had was still at risk. The place may have been less concentration camp-esq if the owner had any true sense of respect and customer service. The next morning the people seemed seemed to have made a complete 180 in terms of attitude and outlook. But I will for the rest of my life avoid this place like the plague, and use it as a reminder to alwasy take the time to research before choosing accomodation! Marco Polo just across the way, was exactly the opposite and I would stay there every time I am in Mackay.

Check in was very good with very friendly and helpful staff. The room needs maintenance, working and connected lamps, one was broken.

Conventient for what i required.

It’s a cheap place to stay, but there is a reason it is a cheap place to stay. Probably hasn’t been renovated the 60s, the beds were uncomfortable, and everything was just ever so slightly damp. I actually didn’t take a shower because I didn’t think I would fully dry afterwards and I slept with a towel over my pillow. Plus the whenever an airplane was taking or landing it was very loud.

Staff were really lovely, my room was clean and it was in a very convenient location.

What I like most is the friendly staff. The location is a walking distance to the closest supermarket. Easy access to catch a bus to the main shopping Centre.
