It is an amazing location however if you are a light sleeper you should bring ear plugs. Please note our room was very close to the Piazza so that could have been a factor otherwise very spacious and helpful staff, small elevator but it was fine and functional.

Excellent central location, just steps away from main attractions and choice of restaurants. Easy walk from train station. Our room overlooked courtyard and was very quiet. Beautiful view from hotel balcony. Lovely quiet bar in the old library. Quirky old property with good amenities and clean rooms.

Wonderful hotel in great location - easy walk to major attractions. Very warm welcome from Silvana on reception. Room was spacious & rooftop terrace has great view of Duomo. Breakfast was also excellent at cafe along street.

15mins walk from the central station to the hotel, tourist spots are all walkable in the city. It is more like a hostel than a hotel, a bit old and not much furnishing but generally is clean and cosy. We did not see the balcony view as the website shown and actually we did not have a view from the window as the building we facing is renovating. small lift can barely carry 2 people with 2 standard suitcases the max and it runs quite slow... nice to have welcome drinks in the library lab, a nice place to talk and drink.

You can't beat this location in Florence! And if you're into Da Vinci and his work, iyou can stay at this property where he lived for 2 years! The staff is so welcoming and inviting. The library with the bar is such a beautiful place to sit after a day of sightseeing.

This is an amazing property. Was owned by a wealthy family and converted to a hotel. Has limits as is owned by the church across the road, so can't sell a breakfast. So much history in this building with an amazing library, paintings from prominent artists and lots of space. Good view of Duomo from 3rd floor Convenient to the train station to walk. Also, Florence is so walkable, this was close to everything, the Accademia and Duomo, the river and Michelangelo burial place. The rooms are sparse, but it has so much more room and high ceilings, which kept it cool in the warm weather. The bed is good, clean bathroom, in room refrigerator. It is sufficient as you are going to be out seeing the sights and and eating well. The church plaza across the road can be noisy at night. City living and so just adapt. Lastly, the staff were fantastic in helping with sightseeing and eating. The building is secure at night as only staffed 9Am-7PM at front desk. Just a different place to stay, and loved the history of sleeping in a 4 to 500 year old building.

This is one of the worst “hotel” I’ve been. The hotel is a funky, sad place. Ex: the “hall way” to my room was strewn with old furniture. There is NO SERVICE whatsoever. If you have lots of luggage, best of luck to you. The good point: The room is roomy and clean;, the AC works. The location is perfect. About 10’ walk from the Duomo.

Receptionist at checkin/out was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The bed was hard as a rock, pillows were similar. Part of the shower wall was falling off, and when you used the shower it would create a lake throughout the entire bathroom. The bathroom was so small you could not sit straight on the toilet, you had to be sideways to avoid the sink. The overall room was large but looked nothing whatsoever like the photos in the listing. First impression upon entering was that we had been catfished. The stairs and hallway to get to the room was the creepiest thing I have ever experienced- I felt like I was in a prison/abandoned building and was scared every time I walked to the room. Part of the stairway was gated off with a pitch black hallway behind (so creepy and scary), and once on the floor, half of the walk down the long hallway to the room there were no lights and it was just a very eerie and uncomfortable space to be. (I wish I could post pictures with the review to explain how scary it was). The room/bed/towels were clean though which was a bonus! The restaurant the breakfast voucher for was AMAZING. A really big breakfast and it was all delicious. Probably the best part of the stay. Overall, the stay was mediocre and I would not go back unfortunately.

Loved this property. Historical building but the rooms were updated and spacious. Our shower had some drainage issues but they came and fixed it. Our room opened up to the Basilica di San Lorenzo so the view out of the windows was just amazing. It does get a little noisy since it’s right by the square and the bell tower goes off from time to time, but it didn’t bother us. My husband used ear plugs. The location was super convenient. 2-5 min walk to the Duomo, 10-15 min to Ponte Vecchio, 10 min to the train station. It was a nice area. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was at a nearby bistro. Such a beautiful bistro and the food was fantastic. Would absolutely stay here again when I go back to Florence.

We had a great 3 night stay at the Artists' Palace in Florence. The hotel was very clean and is an easy 20 minute walk from the train station, and is super convenient to all other sites in Florence. The staff were great and were very eager to answer our questions, and offered up great local suggestions for us. Thank you for a great stay!

The amount of space in our "Deluxe Apartment" was cavernous. The central bedroom was 4x the size that it needed to be with high ceilings and big windows. The bathrooms were very spacious (two bathrooms) and very clean. The building and room had more of a feel of youth hostel than a hotel. It was a no-frills kind of place and the building is used for multiple purposes in addition to providing lodging. It basically felt like a university or office building chopped up into some sleeping quarters. For us, that was fine -- the price and location and the accommodations were exactly what we were looking for but for some, the unconventional nature of the place might be a turn off.

Very large (including maybe 18-ft high ceiling), clean, updated and chic rooms and hallways. Close to popular attractions. The free breakfast was about 300 ft. away in superbly beautiful La Ménagère restaurant. I highly recommended staying here.

What a wonderful find! This was the perfect location— easy walks to all the memorable Florence sites. The staff was super gracious and helpful. They seemed pleased to offer advice and directions— even in English! Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed! We would definitely stay here again!

The entire experience was unique and wonderful from the moment we were greeted at the door. From our arrival , our entire stay was nothing short of magical. We were treated like family by Dominico and his staff, they were fabulous with such a personal touch and they were truly interested in your visit being wonderful. The view from our room looking out into the piazza at the Medici Duomo and the people below eith bells chiming and music yet a very quiet sleep at night. convenience stores right across the street restaurants dining everything accessible by foot beautiful location in the heart of Florence. I could go on and on the stuff for terrific facility itself. The rooms were clean and comfortable wonderful bathroom beautiful bed. I would definitely give it 10 and hurry back! Thanks Dominico and staff, so well done we stayed at five different places throughout her 17 day trip through Italy and this was terrific!

This is an amazing property. Was owned by a wealthy family and converted to a hotel. Has limits as is owned by the church across the road, so can't sell a breakfast. So much history in this building with an amazing library, paintings from prominent artists and lots of space. Good view of Duomo from 3rd floor Convenient to the train station to walk. Also, Florence is so walkable, this was close to everything, the Accademia and Duomo, the river and Michelangelo burial place. The rooms are sparse, but it has so much more room and high ceilings, which kept it cool in the warm weather. The bed is good, clean bathroom, in room refrigerator. It is sufficient as you are going to be out seeing the sights and and eating well. The church plaza across the road can be noisy at night. City living and so just adapt. Lastly, the staff were fantastic in helping with sightseeing and eating. The building is secure at night as only staffed 9Am-7PM at front desk. Just a different place to stay, and loved the history of sleeping in a 4 to 500 year old building.

This is a fantastic hotel. The location is wonderful. It is a very short walk from the Duomo. You are close to it, but not right in the busy parts of the city. The room and amenities were amazing. Friendly, helpful staff. A wonderful experience.

We had a great 3 night stay at the Artists' Palace in Florence. The hotel was very clean and is an easy 20 minute walk from the train station, and is super convenient to all other sites in Florence. The staff were great and were very eager to answer our questions, and offered up great local suggestions for us. Thank you for a great stay!

It is an amazing location however if you are a light sleeper you should bring ear plugs. Please note our room was very close to the Piazza so that could have been a factor otherwise very spacious and helpful staff, small elevator but it was fine and functional.

It was a real treat to stay here. It was so central and yet quiet at night. The Academia is a 3 minute walk, the cathedral the same and the Uffici and Ponte Vecchio less than a 10 minute walk. Bars and restaurants on your doorstep. Very clean, comfortable and staff just lovely. Tram direct from airport is 35 minutes then an 8 minute walk. Just a perfect place to stay really.

Receptionist at checkin/out was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The bed was hard as a rock, pillows were similar. Part of the shower wall was falling off, and when you used the shower it would create a lake throughout the entire bathroom. The bathroom was so small you could not sit straight on the toilet, you had to be sideways to avoid the sink. The overall room was large but looked nothing whatsoever like the photos in the listing. First impression upon entering was that we had been catfished. The stairs and hallway to get to the room was the creepiest thing I have ever experienced- I felt like I was in a prison/abandoned building and was scared every time I walked to the room. Part of the stairway was gated off with a pitch black hallway behind (so creepy and scary), and once on the floor, half of the walk down the long hallway to the room there were no lights and it was just a very eerie and uncomfortable space to be. (I wish I could post pictures with the review to explain how scary it was). The room/bed/towels were clean though which was a bonus! The restaurant the breakfast voucher for was AMAZING. A really big breakfast and it was all delicious. Probably the best part of the stay. Overall, the stay was mediocre and I would not go back unfortunately.

Very large (including maybe 18-ft high ceiling), clean, updated and chic rooms and hallways. Close to popular attractions. The free breakfast was about 300 ft. away in superbly beautiful La Ménagère restaurant. I highly recommended staying here.

Loved this property. Historical building but the rooms were updated and spacious. Our shower had some drainage issues but they came and fixed it. Our room opened up to the Basilica di San Lorenzo so the view out of the windows was just amazing. It does get a little noisy since it’s right by the square and the bell tower goes off from time to time, but it didn’t bother us. My husband used ear plugs. The location was super convenient. 2-5 min walk to the Duomo, 10-15 min to Ponte Vecchio, 10 min to the train station. It was a nice area. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was at a nearby bistro. Such a beautiful bistro and the food was fantastic. Would absolutely stay here again when I go back to Florence.

The room was huge and the bathroom was newly remodeled. A/C worked better than other places we stayed in Italy, and the location was perfect for spending a weekend in Florence. We were even able to store our luggage for the day after check-out

This was such a well-located hotel within walking distance of the train station and our casement window looked right out to the Piazza San Lorenzo. It was the largest of all the hotel rooms we stayed in while in Italy, and it was spotless, but the building was also charmingly old with a beautiful library and bar. The AC worked perfectly during the heatwave. There was plenty of food and shopping nearby and was walking distance to both the Uffizi and the Santa Maria del Fiore. Loved our stay. Highly recommend this hotel! Wish we could’ve stayed longer!
