Fairfield Inn & Suites South Bend at Notre Dame

Besides one elevator put of order the place was great.

Was disappointed by our stay. All started with our toilet being clogged by the previous guest. Hotel staff was kind enough to give us a plunger, but made us plunge it ourselves. I wouldn’t expect that service at the cheapest motels, let alone here. Bathroom shower was slow to drain and shower head was loose, so either you had to kneel to shower or be directly against the wall to have shower spray. Wasn’t told about paying for parking either, but luckily saw that from reviews. Second night there were no spots left so we had to find street parking and walk despite paying. Can’t imagine how this goes football weekends. Would not stay here again, and with football surge pricing this is highly overpriced to the point of being a joke.

Hotel was nicely acquainted. Only problem we encountered was getting the handicap bathroom but it worked fine just needed extra towels, which the facility provided. Rooms were clean, fitness area was nice. Pool wasn’t operational when we were there. A hot tub would be a nice addition.

Great bed. Quiet room. Fan in room's bathroom: big plus. Only wish that staff had disclosed the parking fee up front rather than on the e-mailed bill for incidentals...

Broken elevator and no water

Pipes broke due to cold. But, it appeared that many parties have been held in this hotel. Seems dated and worn.

The lock on the side door to the hotel was broken so it was constantly unlocked, super unsafe. When I informed the front desk they told me they already knew about it and were going to have it fixed - sure. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor so the bathroom floor was constantly a wet slipping hazard. And I assume they know about this because there was a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor - as if that’s an adequate fix. The breakfast they provide is abysmal and undercooked. The fixtures were outdated and the property itself was just dirty. Overall very disappointed in this hotel. For the area it is in it should be keeping much higher standards.

Horrible no warm water

Great location near Notre Dame. Easy walk to the campus, restaurants and local shopping. Unfortunately, the walls between rooms could have better sound quality…you go to sleep and wake up to the neighbor’s television. Charging $11 for outdoor surface parking during non-campus events in South Bend is questionable.

The carpet was dirty with debris from someones earlier stay . The bath floor was dirty and had not been cleaned, hair on the floor, looked like it was not mopped

Dirty bathroom sets a bad tone for visit. Location was great

Hotel is located in a fantastic new area, very convenient to the University of Notre Dame. Hotel is relatively new with good amenities. They do charge for overnight parking. But my biggest complaint was finding multiple drops of hardened but still sticky syrup across the dresser in our room.

Excellent and clean

Very nice property close to Eddy Street Commons and Notre Dame campus. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, and hotel had all we needed. Breakfast was very nice, too! Would definitely stay again.

Your employees saved this review. The first problem was they did not have our cards for the full three days so I had to go down and have that changed. Not a big problem. The second thing was that somebody Peed in the elevator also not something that they did, but the third thing was that they did not change our room for two days. We specifically left so they could clean the room and they didn’t do it also the floors all over very dirty.

The property is in a great location, it is clean, staff was very nice, bed was comfortable, I would rate it a 4 , but there was two things that bugged me. I could not get internet service for the two days I was there, this is totally unacceptable in this day and age. Also, I told the girl in the front that was door had screws coming out, and that the bathroom door was super squeaky and loud. She said the maintenance guy went home for the day, it was about 5:30. Do you mean to tell me there is no available if your heat goes out, or your toilet clogs? With those two issues, I give this hotel a 3, I probably would have rate it a 4.5 .

Everything was great except the pillows!

The location was nice and the staff were friendly. I didn't like the fact that their wasn't a microwave in the room.

We rented a suite with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed for 2 nights, but were only given 1 towel and 1/4 roll of toilet paper. When I called to ask for more I was told to come down to the front desk to get more. However actually finding someone at the front desk to help was frustrating and proved impossible. The 3 different times we went down to find more towels and toilet paper, the “away from desk” sign was displayed and we could not find an employee to help. I ended up tracking down a cleaning cart and getting them myself. Additionally, when the sofa bed was set up, it extended into the furniture opposite it making it impossible to access the bathroom without climbing onto the bed. For a room that cost almost $800 for 2 nights, these oversights and lack of attentiveness seem very unfair. The bright spot was the convenient location and the breakfast attendant who was very kind and went out of his way to help me. Overall this seemed like an understaffed facility with poor space planning that survives due to its excellent location.

Staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was solid. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Tub faucet leaked at night and the AC/heater rattled like crazy when on so sleep was interrupted quite a few times. Solid 4/5. Would stay here again. Perfect location for ND games.

Room is great but the TV is the worst I've ever experienced at a hotel. Despite the timer not being turned on the TV turns off on its own at random intervals and the buttons on the remote barely work, especially the volume. You either get no volume or the button sticks and TV turns itself up to max volume. Fix the TV and this place would be just about perfect.

We had a great stay at this hotel! The front desk staff was absolutely amazing—when I thought I lost my keys (thankfully I found them), they were so kind, patient, and incredibly helpful throughout the whole situation. It really made a stressful moment much easier. The breakfast attendant was also wonderful—she asked how our stay was and was genuinely sweet and welcoming. Little interactions like that really made a difference. Overall, the staff truly stood out and made our stay enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again!

We gathered for a funeral at ND The staff were all very nice and we were able to all gather in the breakfast area to visit late into the night. It’s within walking distance of campus, good and shopping.

It's been a long night and we're trying to check-in but there's only one person, i get it, but there are 9 to 10 people waiting in line. Y'all can check thr footage to verify I'm not exaggerating.

Very Nice stay and very friendly staff!

Beware....we booked a king room, got told we'd been upgraded and got to our room and it was two queens and bathroom with a bath!!! I have a bad back and struggle getting into a bath. When we complained they would do nothing about it!!! Also my pillow had such an awful smell about it...not sure what it was! Very very disappointed!!!

Keys don’t work at property. Staff have to walk you to the room. Check in lady was extremely rude

The hotel is in a great location! It is close to the University of Notre Dame-we easily walked to the campus.

It was very close and convenient to wLk to everything we wanted to do while there.

We had a great stay at this hotel! Great location for Notre Dame sporting events. We walked accross the street for hockey games and short walk to restaurants. Room was clean and ok beds. Breakfast had a decent selection.
