Everything was fine at first. But felt like we couldnt talk or watch tv cos the old couple next to us complained. We weren't being loud the walls were paper thin. Windows old floors creeky everywhere. We weren't allowed food in the room and dining room wasn't open. Where were we supposed to eat. I dont recommend if you like to have fun without having to creep around. Kinda ruined our break

Lady at check in and out was lovely, gave us extra tea and milk when I asked. Didn’t have breakfast so couldn’t comment. Room was lovely and clean. Being at south end of Scarborough is the best end to stop some lovely walking up and down the hill and close to the funicular lift if needed. We were able to park close to hotel on Granville street at no cost which is a plus to us .

Room 4 was my single room with its own WC and Basin plus a shower room just across the landing for private use. A bathrobe was made available. The room I stayed in was perfect for any solo traveller. Hillary was lovely and ensured everything was OK The hotel is a 12 minute walk from train station with a local bus service passing close by. I could not fault it.

I had the top floor classic double room, with own bathroom. Lovely hotel all together struggled with stairs but other than that thoroughly enjoyed it. Messages were answer straight away, wasnt sure about check out but staff were onsite to help. Walking distance from beach and 5 mins in car to food and all amenities, barely any sound, on street parking can be difficult to park close but there was enough area

Had a 2 night stay here in August with my daughter during a road trip! Easy to find, warm welcome. Room two floors up - could inform guests of this when booking to avoid any potential issues with mobility. No dedicated parking but managed to find one quite easily and very close on the street outside as advised pre-arrival. Walkable to the front, town centre. Room lovely & clean (though it did smell a little musty & we did find couple of cobwebs and spiders-not great for arachnophobes like us!). The bathroom was modern and very clean but only a net at the window-really needs a blind of some sort. We had twin room - beds very comfortable and warm. Overall, great value, can use Tesco Clubcard points/vouchers here too and would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the Mountview for two nights, we arrived on the Friday afternoon and was able to park using the street parking outside. We were greeted by a lovely lady who couldn't do enough for us, the same lady saw us the next day aswell and again was very pleasant, helpful and polite with a smile on her face all the time! The room was lovely and clean, I think it could do with a paint refresh but that's being picky, it did not make our stay any different. I would say a full length mirror would be nice but again this is just a preference. The bed was comfy but a bit too soft for us but everyone is different and you can't please everyone! I asked if they could do anything for my partners birthday and they put some banners up which was lovely and very thankful for. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that. This is a great place, great price and would recommend and definitely stay again if we visited Scarborough.

We had a friendly welcome from Tess, were given our keys to our room. We had room 2 which was a decent size with lovely fleece bedding. The shower was perfect, could do with a shelf for shower gel etc and a few hooks for clothes/ towels. We didn't have breakfast. It's a 15 minute stroll to the town centre with lovely views on route , would definitely recommend.

Perfect little hotel for a coastal getaway. The room was cosy but ideal for a short break. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the place was spotless. Perfect location in the quieter end of town, but within really easy walking distance to the busy bits. Gorgeous views around the corner overlooking the town, and there's the cliff lift right nearby for the journey back up the hill if you need it.

Lady at check in and out was lovely, gave us extra tea and milk when I asked. Didn’t have breakfast so couldn’t comment. Room was lovely and clean. Being at south end of Scarborough is the best end to stop some lovely walking up and down the hill and close to the funicular lift if needed. We were able to park close to hotel on Granville street at no cost which is a plus to us .

Arrived late afternoon, plenty of free on street parking either outside the hotel or across the way. Greeted with a warm welcome. Room on first floor, no lift but the lady did offer to take our bags upstairs, we were fine though. Room beautiful and spotlessly clean, tea/coffee making facilities. Bed very comfortable. Nice bathroom. Hotel is a 5 minute walk to the sea front and a 15/20 minute easy walk to the town. Nice, quiet area. We would definitely use this hotel again.

We had a friendly welcome from Tess, were given our keys to our room. We had room 2 which was a decent size with lovely fleece bedding. The shower was perfect, could do with a shelf for shower gel etc and a few hooks for clothes/ towels. We didn't have breakfast. It's a 15 minute stroll to the town centre with lovely views on route , would definitely recommend.

Perfect little hotel for a coastal getaway. The room was cosy but ideal for a short break. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the place was spotless. Perfect location in the quieter end of town, but within really easy walking distance to the busy bits. Gorgeous views around the corner overlooking the town, and there's the cliff lift right nearby for the journey back up the hill if you need it.

What a lovely place, very clean and tidy, breakfast was brilliant £8 plenty to choose from cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, fruit juice fresh coffee and tea plenty of decaf coffee and herbal teas and of course full English The lady who looks after the place couldn’t do enough for us She was such a lovely person

My first stay at this hotel and after reading the reviews it certainly lived up to my expectations.it felt clean and well looked after the host was very polite and courteous. My room was a single but was clean with coffee /Tea ..sink and toilet and even though the bathroom was a few metres outside my room I was given a dressing gown to wear when I needed a shower .the dressing gown is complimentary in the room . The bed was extremely comfortable and that makes my stay a lot more enjoyable.as getting a good night's rest I didn't have breakfast but the options there upon your arrival next time I'll definitely have a breakfast as I could smell how delicious it must have been for the other guests . I know the.past 3 or 4 years has been hard in this industry and many hotels have struggled but all I can say about the MountView hotel is that the hosts have just added little touches that makes your stay very enjoyable Well done to all

Very nice stay. Host was all you could have asked for. Breakfast was excellent Full English. Also cereal and fresh fruit and all the other bits and bobs. I did however mentioned that the shower needed to be looked at as it was very weak.
