The Bitterne Park

Very reasonably priced. Large room with cooking amenities. No air-conditioning, but opening the window kept temperature just right for me.

The room was cleaned but there was no housekeeping service to refresh teabags etc. The hotel is very tired and I don't think the bar has been open for a long while.

Staff was amazing.

Staff were nice, however the room was dirty. It had not been cleaned. there was sock fluff in the lower bed and a pair of glasses down the side of the bed. Our room was out onto a flat roof and the sash windows were open as it was hot. We put our things in and had to go straight to a funeral. When we came back a man was standing on the roof outside our windows smoking. This happened several times! Also there is a bar below, which states it closes at midnight. So we didnt think this was a problem, especially as it said the room was sound proofed. We was not told that it was going on till 3.30am and it would sound like we was trying to sleep on the dance floor!
