Super 8 by Wyndham Wichita South

We were disappointed many times. The pool was closed due to skimmer broke. No plans to replace it. A hot tub was advertised but we didn’t see one. We were given a handicap room and did not request one. Electronics were unplugged. No working microwave. Toilet was slow to flush. Remote control for volume was broken. Bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy. Room was outdated and pictures did not represent the room that we rented. We’ve stay at many Wyndham properties and this did not represent the quality we’ve had previously. The breakfast bard had no meat. Only egg and cheese was available. No juice either. We now know the importance of buying insurance to get a refund. We will never stay at any Super 8 again.

Roaches everywhere and pool was not in working condition

Simple hotel, accessiblity room had everything which was need including a shower chair. Pool and spa was not working during stay but was not an issue.

close to the kansas turnpike and close to Derby KS easy to get where i needed to go. pool not working but i did not plan or try to use the pool

This was the second worst stay at a hotel/motel I have ever had in my life. I waited at the front step for over 25 minutes to check in. I called the phone number four times in order to get someone to respond to my presence with no luck. They have a wireless bell to ring and I rang it at least five times before a woman answered. Once getting my room, I checked the working condition of the mini fridge and it didn't work. My wife asked that it be replaced with a working fridge and she was told they didn't have a replacement one available. We noticed that during our time at the hotel/motel there was only about 10-12 cars on the parking so it was not overflowing with customers. The staff didn't attempt to find a working mini fridge to replace our non functioning one. They claimed to have a breakfast for their customers. I would not classify what they had aa a fulfilling selection to choose from. The eggs were unpleasant to look at, no breakfast meat, not enough waffle mix to make a whole waffle, no fruits and no yogurt. The corporate office needs to go there and do a complete inspection of the facility. Also, no functioning vending machine(s) and the ice machine is being held together with a piece of string and leaks very badly. Skip this place customers.

very disappointed all the sites I've looked at says there's a swimming pool. And there is a pool that has not been open for 3years! That is the only reason I picked this motel.

Staff was friendly but Our room smelled really musty, the pool was out of order and judging by the signs on the door it had been for some time. The worst part was our toilet seat! It was broken and wobbles back and forth and was a old particle board and a lot of the paint had came off. You couldn't have paid me to sit on it!

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!! I booked online because their website said they had heated inside pool as I was traveling with 2 grandchildren. Upon arrival I was informed their pool was closed in 2020 and they were not going to reopen it. They refused to refund me due to their false advertisement on their website, so I could stay elsewhere. The room smelled horrible, holes in the covers, refrigerator was dirty with stuff still in it, no way to use microwave/ coffee pot R/T no way to plug in, I do not believe the carpets have ever been cleaned, hair in shower & sink, ring in toilet. Due to my COPD I have to sleep in cool room & pillows keeping my head raised, I was refused an extra pillow & a cover for my grandchildren who were too cold, room was not cleaned, linen not changed or new towels for the second day. I will be taking photos I obtained and reporting to better business and Kansas Department of Agriculture. Checked out and went to stay at Holiday Inn right behind them which was wonderful!!!!!

Walked into the room and a strong smell that was very unpleasant, blood stains on both of the sheets and pillows, bed bugs on the left bed, stains all over the ceiling, 5 dead cockroaches, mold on two of the sheets and in the corner walls along with dried blood on the sheets. Was also told the second night would not be charged because of the horrendous conditions, and let alone asking $130 a night for this dump I was charged for both nights.

Musty smell in rooms and wasn't very clean.

The front desk tried to keep charging my card. The place was nasty, lights were out, burn holes in the blankets. Phone didn’t work, no remote. The shower was a dribble.

Building smelled bad. Door to the room didn't shut completely and could be pulled open and shut to make loud banging. Chairs in room were dirty and had holes in them. Coffee pot was dirty (used coffee grounds). Shower curtain wouldn't stay shut and kept blowing open while showering.

Room was not clean and furniture was worn and stained. Paint peeling, musty smell and door was difficult to lock.

Carpet was dirty. Hallway smelled. Bed sheets had holes. Shower needs updated. Pool was closed.

Dead mice behind fridge tv and toliet needed fixing more than once

Property is old and not clean. Staff at front desk not friendly.

Needs repairs. Only one accessible outlet, no USB plug in places, shower had NO pressure, room had strange odor

Our bathroom door did not close all the way, not providing complete privacy. The light switch was loose in the bathroom and the outlet in the main room was loose from the wall, sticking out about 1/2 inch. The breakfast was very minimal. Ceiling tiles were missing on the main floor.

Tv didn't work , Room in need of repairs,ceiling seems popping, walls need sheetrock work , bathroom was just ok.

The fridge was loud and the radio : alarm kept making static noise. Then absolutely no sound proof of any kind could here the guy in the room next door have an hour long conversation on the phone clear as day and could here everything

I had a basketball tournament I was attending in town,the hotel looked nothing like what was advertised in the picture which should have been my first instinct.First room ,no running water.They switched me.Next room no air!! They switched me again.The pool was out of order.Really I need my money back or points or something

The gentleman that checked us in was wonderful he went above & beyond. The tv didn’t work, poor internet couldn’t get any signal. Poor breakfast.

Shower was not clean. Toilet was rusting everywhere and made funny noises, the mini fridge in our room was not functional, neither was the remote to the TV. The room had a semi unpleasant odor.

Place is disgusting. Woke up at 2am to people smoking in the hallway and front desk didn't do anything about it. Key machine wasn't working. So I had to get someone at the desk to let me in and out of my room. I'd give it 0 stars if I could.

Lady at the desk was super disrespectful and didn't hear a word I had to say.

Motel is 95% smoke free. They say they only have 4 smoking rooms, but the entire building smells of cigarettes. Front desk charged me twice. Didn’t believe me when asked about the second charge. Wouldn’t even look it up until I showed him my banking app statement with the two charges. Really felt like the clerk was scamming me. The room doesn’t resemble the pictures. Cigarette burns on bed. Stains on the chairs. Towel hooks in the bathroom were hanging loose from the wall (screw threads exposed and dangling from Sheetrock). Carpet is super tired. Patch marks and scuffs in the walls are visible throughout. People appear to live here. In general didn’t feel safe for my family or for my vehicle. Not recommended!!!

This guy kept my deposit of 100 dollars and refuses to refund me , insisting it’s the bank who robbed me, stay somewhere else right next door is a great holiday in express!!!

Decent hotel. Quiet, easy parking, quick check in.

Staff was helpful when the fridge in our initial room didn't work. No prenotice that pool was closed during booking. Room could have used another pass for cleaning.

Manged and all staff are amazing. I had something bad happen while i was staying there and they made me fewl safe

Our check In Clerk was very astute and helpful. I enjoyed conversing with him, we talked of gymnastics and the opportunity to converse was very uplifting.

Barely used the room ...charged me $100 deposit and then kept that "deposit" when I didn't even unmake the bed...I will NEVER stay here again!

I am extremely disappointed. I was supposed to be at LaQuinta. This super 8 pool has been closed for a year and the south side of Wichita is not a good location. This place is dated! When the rest of my family came down the next day their room at LaQuinta was very nice exactly what we wanted!

Highly do not recommend this hotel. Not in a safe area, rooms are dirty, staff not friendly and not sanitary with the continental breakfast.

Breakfast was terrible

Overall the stay was not great. We booked here because we could have our dogs and they had breakfast as we were stopping through town on a long drive. However, the room needed some desperate updates. Walls were cracking and damaged and the chairs were stained. When we turned the air on, it caused a musty/urine smell in the room. There were no toiletries in the bathroom for soaps and shampoos, not even hand soap for the sink. In the morning, the breakfast was super limited. It had the set up for a full continental breakfast but only had two basic cereals, maybe stuff for waffles and apples. Though it was super nice being able to stay here for only $20 extra for the dogs, we won’t be staying here again. I guess you get what you pay for.

Great place. Friendly staff. Clean and quiet. Full breakfast bar.

The breakfast was absolutely awful. Not worth the money I paid! Then i get charged for 2 nights when i only wanted and selected 1.
