Stayed 5 nights

We arrived at the hotel and, while waiting to check in, overheard a chap at reception demanding his bedroom “needed painting.” Well. That was reassuring. My husband and I just looked at each other in absolute horror, silently communicating the universal married-couple message of: What the hell have we booked? We got our keys, headed upstairs with fairly low expectations, opened the door and… HALLELUJAH! 😂 The room was exactly like the photos on the website. No peeling walls, no decorating equipment, no man with a paint roller hiding in the corner. Result! In fact, the room was spotless. Housekeeping were fantastic and the hotel itself was really clean throughout our stay. Now for the case of the mysterious disappearing swimming pool. The website mentions access to a pool and gym. The reality? No pool. So if you are picturing yourself doing a few relaxing lengths after sightseeing, put the swimming costume back in the suitcase because it isn’t happening here. If a pool is a must-have, this is definitely not the hotel for you. What the hotel DOES have going for it is the location, which is brilliant. The neighbourhood is great for shopping, there are loads of places to eat, and you can even catch a movie nearby. We really enjoyed staying in Brooklyn and found it incredibly easy to get around. We arrived from JFK by cab like proper tourists. We returned to JFK by subway for around $10 like seasoned New Yorkers. Last thing … the staff were all brilliant!

Stayed 1 night

This hotel is convenient when visiting the Barclays Center. It would be a big improvement to clean the sidewalk outside and provide information regarding morning coffee. That said, the coffee was very weak. Our room was clean and a good size. However, we asked to change from our original assigned room because it smelled like bad exhaust.
