Fairly indifferent service. Hotel basically clean and comfortable but needs a revamp. There is a bar but it is only only 8-9am when breakfast is served. Breakfast is bagels (good) and muffins. Tea and coffee. There are no tea coffee facilities beyond this, including in the rooms. OK for a short comparatively cheap stay. There is a very good dele 50 m up the street. Good position for visiting sights, very short walk to subway stn.

Northeast family trip. Nice older hotel in the middle of Chelsea. Right to subway, restaurants everywhere, safe area and breakfast muffins were good. Parking in the nearby garage was $90 per day.

Decent hotel in a good area. It is old but maintained well. Rooms are of reasonable size considering the average room size in NYC hotels. Staff was friendly and helpful. Does not have a laptop size digital safe but an old fashioned box, just big enough to keep cash/ jewellery etc and it needs a physical key that we had to request from the front desk.

The cleanliness was just fine. The issue was that the wi=fi stopped working and was not repaired when I left FOUR DAYS after it went out. I had to leave the hotel to get online for a zoom meeting, and I was not able to engage in business as usual. Also, the elevators need attention. Twice the elevator froze and I had to use the stairs. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and the hotel was comfortable enough.

The size of the room was good, compared to some other Manhattan hotels. The staff was A+, but the building itself had some issues: the elevators (both) broke down at the same time, water pressure in the shower was low, and it took some time to get some warm water. Breakfast was little modest, coffee/tea etc., bagels, and muffins. Over all, location is good (subway stations near), the staff is friendly, and if you can live with waiting for awhile getting a hot shower, I'd choose this hotel again.

Lovely friendly and polite staff, beds comfortable, lift quick and efficient, continental breakfast choice very good. Clean linens and towels. One of the best places I’ve stayed in NYC. Tea or coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice but that’s a bit nitpicky since there are many options To get a drink right outside. Would stay again, I’m surprised it’s only a two star hotel.

Clean room, beautiful building that felt nostalgic (but not in an outdated way). Very friendly staff and great breakfast offerings the next day. Would stay again (and probably will). The Christmas decorations were lovely.

The room was larger than the NY standard (double room with two beds). The beds and pillows were comfortable (I am extremely sensitive). If you are sensitive to noise, I recommend bringing earplugs (it’s never quiet in NY!). The room was spotlessly clean. We stayed on the 6th floor, and the housekeeper on this floor deserves the highest rating! The room had wall-to-wall carpeting, but it was fresh. The room has a refrigerator and there are many stores in the area (Target, Whole Foods, and more). The hotel served breakfast—bagels and muffins as well as coffee and tea. There was also a microwave in the breakfast room. The hotel is close to several subway stations. I got to JFK airport in 35-40 minutes from the hotel. I would definitely book this hotel again.

It was just ok. They never supplied enough towels so we had to request them daily. Our shower dripped the whole time with rust in the tub. It was convenient and we did not spend much time in our room.

The location is super convenient in terms of taking the subway and having lots of food options around! If you're coming in from Penn Station, it's also a short walk or ride away. The staff was also helpful when I needed to store my luggage for the day. However, the room is pretty dated and carpet definitely hosts a history of old stains. I had to let the shower run for a bit because originally the water was a strange colour. My room faced the street and I could hear a lot of noise late into the night. There is free coffee and bagels/muffins in the morning, but there's no toaster. Good for a short trip, but not sure if I would stay here again.

From the moment we checked in one boss a older woman was rude abusive and condescending I sat on my bed and my long hair touched the headboard and it was tacky like glue and my hair stuck we covered it with a towel the towel stuck we rang the front desk they sent a non English speaking plumber I rang back they said they would send cleaners they never did The bathtub drain was rusted the power points n the bathroom next to water were gaping away from the wall The last day cockroaches came from under the bed and the repair man had left open screw holes with plastic plugs I went down for breakfast that started at eight we went to enter the dining room at five past eight and were yelled at and the door locked and paying guests were not allowed in the dining room but local cops used it as a break room at anytime during the day a dozen cops were seated in there smoking and eating for free

Broken and stain furniture, tub drain needed to be cleaned, mirror was not completely attached on bathroom wall. Heating/cooling unit very noisy. Looks like this is the room they put damage furniture in. I assumed I got this room because I booked via Expedia. I noticed the day before I checked out the other rooms were not like this. I mentioned the condition of the room at checkout-the staff apologized but it was too late to request another room. Room 512. The bagels and muffins were delicious!

HUGE room for NYC. Had a fridge, bonus in NYC. Subway around the corner literally. Staff is fantastic. Food across the street was better than TSQ area. Outdated for some. But as for me, a solo traveler, perfect. Had a bed and bathroom and fridge to keep my water cold. They had bagels for breakfast. Other items too but i only cared about bagels. It is outdated, but i did not care. The staff, location, and vibe of this area was perfect for me. My ONLY complaint is the TV was terrible channels. Yes it was cable channels but ZERO local channels. Normally i wouldn't care, because who watchs TV on vacation in NYC. But i was tired and it was pouring rain one night. I managed. And honestly if the weather outside was better and my energy would have held up, i probably wouldn't have noticed.

The location to Penn Station and subway is great. Staff was polite and professional. My only disappointment was the mattress, which was old and very worn. Fortunately my stay wasn’t long term.

Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. The rooms were quite big, the air conditioning was working great and it was very very clean! Two metro stations were closeby (1-3 minutes by foot), so we could get everywhere in a hurry. In the morning fresh coffee, bagels and muffins were served, which was quite unexpected, but really nice. Only little downside was that you could hear some of the traffic at night, even with windows closed.
Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. The rooms were quite big, the air conditioning was working great and it was very very clean! The walls are pretty thin, so you can hear people talking in the hallway and in rooms around you. Unfortunately the beds were uncomfortable as well. Not very thick mattresses, and the pillows were like paper. Other than that, the hotel was fine! Definitely check out 7th street burger across the street.

Great location, next to the 1 subway stop and busstops. Multiple supermarkets nearby. Very clean and large room. Loved the corner room with two windows, looking over the busy streets. Breakfast is super, with jumbo bagels and even bigger muffins. Perfect price for a perfect stay.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the subway and easy to get around. However, we arrived about an hour and a half before check in and was told we had to wait until 3 to check in. After grabbing a bite to eat and returning to the hotel we were still not able to check in. The gentleman running the front desk proceeded to have a conversation with someone on his cell phone via speaker phone, very unprofessional. We had to wait until exactly 3 to check in, I can honestly say that I have never had to wait for the exact time for check in, ever at any hotel. I do quite a bit of traveling and this was a first! Your options for breakfast are a bagel, muffin, coffee or water everyday. There is one person working the breakfast area and the area is small. There were a lot of people staying at the hotel so it was very crowded and slow going. I mentioned something to the front desk that they should have more then one person working the breakfast area and the front desk women apologized for the inconvenience. However the next morning was even worse and there were two people at the front desk chatting away while the poor women serving breakfast was trying to keep up with the demand of people. I gave up the last two days I was there and grabbed breakfast somewhere else.

However the next morning was even worse and there were two people at the front desk chatting away while the poor women serving breakfast was trying to keep up with the demand of people. I gave up the last two days I was there and grabbed breakfast somewhere else.

We had a wonderful experience during our stay. Eva at the front desk was super accommodating, friendly, and a jokester which made chatting with her a great time. The room was clean and quiet and very convenient to where we needed to be. If we ever have a chance to stay here again we definitely will!

Everybody was great but 2 things need attention. 1) Our first night in 502 was like sleeping on the floor. It felt like they forgot to put a mattress on. The staff was very accommodating and gave us one with a comfortable bed. This suprised us because everything is usually good. 2) I’ve never stayed anywhere that you had to wait until 8 am to get coffee. Many of us get up much earlier and coffee is usually out most of the days anywhere else. Love to see this implemented before our return in a few months. You asked so I let you know. If you don’t listen it’s on you. Everything else was great and we’lol come back.

The entire staff were excellent, during our entire 3 night stay. Very polite, respectful, punctual, and accommodating. The bed was very spartan and the pillows were very flat. We requested additional pillows and had them in less than 5 minutes. Great location for subway stations, bars, food service selections, and Chelsea Market and High Line.

I like the vibe in the atmosphere. Staff and front desk were nice and attentive. The property is a little outdated but that doesn't bother me. Here are what I didn't like. The bed is springy and woke up with back pain. The housekeeper came in our room without knocking. That's a huge no no. Last, they were doing smoke alarm inspections while we were in the room chilling and relaxing. In my professional opinion, this can wait until your guests has checked out first. No common courtesy if you ask me. We probably going to find another hotel to stay the next time we visit New York.

The location in NY was great for getting all around Manhattan. There is a subway station right around the corner and access to different subway lines one block in either direction. The hotel was secure, the staff were great, it was clean, and it was well maintained. For a two star hotel, it was amazing.

Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. The rooms were quite big, the air conditioning was working great and it was very very clean! Two metro stations were closeby (1-3 minutes by foot), so we could get everywhere in a hurry. In the morning fresh coffee, bagels and muffins were served, which was quite unexpected, but really nice. Only little downside was that you could hear some of the traffic at night, even with windows closed.

Great location, next to the 1 subway stop and busstops. Multiple supermarkets nearby. Very clean and large room. Loved the corner room with two windows, looking over the busy streets. Breakfast is super, with jumbo bagels and even bigger muffins. Perfect price for a perfect stay.

Hotel is outdated but is located at a great location eith many restaurants nearby. Hotel is walking distance to Times Square, Midtown, Hudson yards, Tribeca. It is close to Penn station with easy access to public transit. The hotel provides coffee and tea along with delicious bagels (not the frozen ones but rather bagels from some local bagel bakery) for breakfast.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the subway and easy to get around. However, we arrived about an hour and a half before check in and was told we had to wait until 3 to check in. After grabbing a bite to eat and returning to the hotel we were still not able to check in. We really enjoyed our stay at the Chelsea Savoy and would definitely stay there again. The rooms were clean, the A/C was fantastic and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that I wouldn’t have minded a few more options for breakfast. The bagels were great, muffins a bit too dessert-like, and some fruit and protein (egg or yogurt) would have been nice. Overall our stay was great!

They love to say they have “free breakfast” but it’s gross diner coffee and gross muffins. And they don’t start breakfast until 8am, which is really inconvenient. On one day, the breakfast woman wasn’t ready at 8 because she needed to go upstairs to get her large drink. She came back down at 8:05 and there were about 30 of us waiting to get inside. So yeah, I guess she was the only one that could open the door and stand behind the counter guarding the muffins. Stupid.

This no-frills hotel is very affordable in a great (although not necessarily very pretty) location close to tons of restaurants, the subway, and Penn Station. While this is an older hotel and the furniture and hallway decor do not appear to have been updated in some time, it is very clean and the staff are friendly and quick to address any concerns. The included breakfast was very limited - coffee, tea, bagels (but no toaster), and muffins. I would definitely stay here again for the price and location alone.

It's a good location and I think a reasonable value for New York. Early morning transfer against the traffic to Newark Airport was easy.
