Excellent location, right in the center of the historic area in a historic building. Parking available in nearby garage. Because the hotel is located in a historic area, it is not accessible by car, so you have to walk a very short distance from the parking garage to the hotel. Manager was wonderful. Rooms very clean and updated bathrooms which were also very clean. A bit loud in the morning with the church bells and the store and restaurant owners restocking as it is the only time cars are allowed in the area, but worth it to be right in the center of the historic area. Historic sites, shops and restaurants steps away.

We came in early, were able to check in early. We absolutely loved our room overlooking the street, listening to the church bell/violinist play on the street or just random chatter from walking pedestrians. Loved the 24/7 coffee machine and sweet little treat left beside it. 20 mins walk from main train station but is conveniently located for other tourist attractions, would definitely come back again.

Absolutely loved my stay and am fully planning to come back before the end of the year! The staff was friendly and helpful, the location fantastic and the garden terrace was beautiful and quiet. Superb hotel, highly recommend!

Very clean and quiet. Great location for getting to and from activities. We had a car and they gave us discount voucher for public parking which was very nice and helpful. Parking lot was 3-4 minutes from hotel. Loved that hotel was in a pedestrian only street.

Great location near central Salzburg on a pedestrian street. Directions to the parking garage should have been provided as there is no way to even drive to the property. I spent about 30 minutes driving around before discovering there is no way to drive there.

This is a very convenient, clean and practical boutique hotel experience. If you want to feel like Mozart did during his time this is an experiential retreat. It is walkable and close to all quintessential tour opportunities. It is clean, quaint and a step way back in time. So be ready for village noise from the alley, church bells every 15 minutes, easy access to pubs, 24/7 coffee, no A/C, a teeny tiny elevator, a room above a bar, and a Euro shower set up. We loved our experience at this boutique hotel but do not come with a mind expecting all of the same conveniences of a Hilton or Marriot ;)

The staff were good and helpful, and the hotel is well managed. The decor and furniture is old and run down, but it is kept clean. However if you’re looking for a place to have a good night’s rest, this is not the one for you. The walls, doors and windows have no sound insulation, so be prepared to get woken up constantly (I am a deep sleeper). The church bells next door woke me up as they started chiming on Sunday morning at 7am, for 5 minutes straight, then again around 7:40am. This was followed up by cleaning staff cleaning other rooms, other lodgers opening doors and dragging heavy luggage across the hallway, you could hear EVERYTHING. Also means there is no privacy as anyone could likely hear my conversations. If you’re sharing the room with someone, be warned the bathroom door also has no sound isolation, you can hear everything that’s going on in there. I like their option to choose between their breakfast buffet or a voucher for the cafe in town. I chose the cafe in town, and regretted it. It is not very good. I didn’t try the breakfast buffet at the hotel but I wish I had as it would’ve probably been better.

Great location. Little older hotel and likely one of the smallest elevators we’ve been in, but it was clean, staff was friendly, and convenient location. Super convenient to Mirabelplatz (gardens, Christmas market, and the meeting place for the Sound of Music bus tour).

Krone 1512 was a great place to stay. The location is excellent, about a 10 minute walk to the two centres of tourism - the Mirabell gardens and the Old Town. The room was spacious and clean, staff were responsive to our questions, pricing was good. I highly recommend this property.

This is the 12th hotel we have stayed in during our alpine tour. It is our least favourite. While perfectly situated within walking distance of everything we hoped to see, the hotel itself was a big disappointment. Our room had cracked walls and needed to be painted. The radiator, located beside the bathroom sink was full of dust and cobwebs. The reception is only open until 3pm. We were given a sheet with information about the hotel. It included advice on giving high ratings in our review and tipping. In poor taste I thought. The convenience of its location was the only thing we appreciated.

The location was great. Easy walking distance to all major attractions. Clean. The receptionist is very helpful. Two things that lowered my rating. First, one pillow is not enough. I have neck issues when my head is so low when lying. I know i could have requested for one but i wish they provided that without being requested. I'm used to hotels having stardard two pillows. Second i hope they would automatically include breakfast without you having to pay extra.

The location was great, and as much as is understandable that the building is very old, there was not tv nor internet that work in any room( I spoke with several other guests and had the same experience) during all the days I stayed. I complained and was told that will not be fixed. My room was very dark and smelly and requested a change for another one facing the street whith a normal view.

This property was great for us ! It is a bit unusual but we found it charming . Our room was huge which was a nice surprise with a new bathroom and all very clean . This is an old building so some creaks etc . The church bells form the street added to the charm for us and the double windows shut out most unwanted noise . Breakfast was very good and service from All staff was excellent. Great location to see the city and so many options for food and shopping . Be aware that on Sunday’s many things are closed .

Though the room was small it was the right size for a solo traveler. I didn't eat breakfast. So I cannot comment on that. The only negativity I have is there was no one at the lobby when I arrived after 9pm. There was a sign that said to register to please enter through the bar. The bar was crowded. I had a piece of luggage and a backpack. It was impossible to do that. The bartender who turned out to be the hotel guest reception. Saw me and signal me to go back to the lobby. I did and waited about 10 more minutes before he gave me the forms to fill out. I was not happy with that. Hotel management should take care of that issue. Otherwise, I was happy with the location of the hotel.

Room was on second floor overlooking the street. Paid $297 US for a very basic, outdated room. Ceiling very low in room and doorways even lower. We had a wonderful stay, easy check in, the room was HUGE, a soaking tub, friendly staff, a great breakfast and the perfect location. The staff was even able to help when our luggage broke and we needed to find new ones. Plus normally getting rid of a large broken piece is difficult but they assisted with this as well. Always a smile in the morning for breakfast as they made sure we knew what was on offer, and the courtyard was the perfect place to relax. We really could not have asked for a better stay

Well located, and very tidy with decent facilities. Staff are very friendly and professional. We had some travel issues and management were very helpful - which was much appreciated. Very happy to stay there again and recommend.

Though the room was small it was the right size for a solo traveler. I didn't eat breakfast. So I cannot comment on that. The only negativity I have is there was no one at the lobby when I arrived after 9pm. There was a sign that said to register to please enter through the bar. The bar was crowded. I had a piece of luggage and a backpack. It was impossible to do that. The bartender who turned out to be the hotel guest reception. Saw me and signal me to go back to the lobby. I did and waited about 10 more minutes before he gave me the forms to fill out. I was not happy with that. Hotel management should take care of that issue. Otherwise, I was happy with the location of the hotel.

Krone 1512 was a great place to stay. The location is excellent, about a 10 minute walk to the two centres of tourism - the Mirabell gardens and the Old Town. The room was spacious and clean, staff were responsive to our questions, pricing was good. I highly recommend this property.

The general manager Nikolai was over-the-top friendly and always amenable to helping us and make sure we had what we needed. Perfect boutique motel right in the middle of the old area, easily walkable wherever you wanted to go. Highly recommend this hotel!

We arrived after the front desks was closed but the instructions said to check in at the bar next door. The bar tender never skipped a beet and led us into the hotel and got us all signed in and keyed up. The breakfast was good and the day staff were friendly and spoke great English. This is the 12th hotel we have stayed in during our alpine tour. It is our least favourite. While perfectly situated within walking distance of everything we hoped to see, the hotel itself was a big disappointment. Our room had cracked walls and needed to be painted. The radiator, located beside the bathroom sink was full of dust and cobwebs. The reception is only open until 3pm. We were given a sheet with information about the hotel. Excellent location, right in the center of the historic area in a historic building. Parking available in nearby garage. Because the hotel is located in a historic area, it is not accessible by car, so you have to walk a very short distance from the parking garage to the hotel. Manager was wonderful. Rooms very clean and updated bathrooms which were also very clean. A bit loud in the morning with the church bells and the store and restaurant owners restocking as it is the only time cars are allowed in the area, but worth it to be right in the center of the historic area. Difficult location if arriving by car as the street is a pedestrian zone. The room was pretty out-dated. Bathroom was ok. The noise from the nearby church bells starts around 5:30am if I recall. The location is pretty convenient on a shopping street with restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The main tourist attractions in the old town are about an 8 minute walk. We also found a nice laundromat a few blocks away. The employees are friendly and helpful. They let us store our bags for a few hours after check out. Overall, the difficult part of this hotel is checking in if you have luggage due to its distance from parking. It worked well for our family as a base.

Very clean and quiet. Great location for getting to and from activities. We had a car and they gave us discount voucher for public parking which was very nice and helpful. Parking lot was 3-4 minutes from hotel. Loved that hotel was in a pedestrian only street.

Great location near central Salzburg on a pedestrian street. Directions to the parking garage should have been provided as there is no way to even drive to the property. I spent about 30 minutes driving around before discovering there is no way to drive there.

Room was great size and value for two people. Location was ideal as it is across the river from the Old Town and on the cute, main road, which is exactly where I wanted to stay. The hotel also was able to store our bags after we checked out and continued to explore the city. Took off 1 star because we went to sleep with the windows open and on Saturday morning the trash collection people arrived early (5am or something) and it was very loud. Once the trash collection subsided, the church bell next door appeared to ring every 15 minutes. I recognize this is out of the hotel's control, but it's just something to keep in mind if you're not an early riser.

A good hotel in the centre of the old town. Breakfast was small, but enough for what you need. Yoghurt, boiled eggs, toast, croissants (plain), a cake, tinned fruit, apples and cold meat and cheese. Unlimited tea and coffee was nice, especially since when we arrived it was raining. In the rooms we had on the first floor wifi was good, but on the second floor the wifi was only one bar reception and constantly dropped out, also the hot water on the second floor took about 5 minutes to warm up, compared the the first floor which was basically instant. Other than that everything else was good and having a small bar downstairs was a nice addition.
