Stunning period hotel with old style grandeur attached to Glasgow Grand Central station. In a fantastic central location for the many tourist attractions Glasgow has to offer. Parking in the NCP (at a very discounted rate) is convenient! Breakfast a little pricey, but no need to spend if you don’t want to.. as there are so many places to go nearby! Beautiful champagne bar if you fancy a treat too.

The location of this hotel is excellent, especially if you are travelling by train. The staff were very pleasant but reception and the dining room are very dark spaces. There were also problems with the lifts.

A lovely stay, great room, nicely furnished. Convenient . Only one lift working, which was an issue, queuing and waiting to go down for breakfast, and up with luggage for longer than you would expect! ( unable to manage stairs ).

It's an old big building that shows. It only had 2 elevators of which only 1 was working and one night none were working so I had to walk the stairs to the top floor and felt sorry for the guests that were arriving and had to carry the luggage up the stairs.

Well maintained, clean classic railroad station hotel. Surprisingly quiet given location at Central Station. Very pleasant staff, nice champagne bar overlooking trail station. Great location in central Glasgow

Tough place to find, no ability to pull up in front. Parking is a few blocks away. But, if you’re traveling by train or on foot it’s a very nice property.

This hotel is perfectly situated and well presented. However, it has only two lifts and one is broken which makes life extremely hard for Ambulant disabled people.

The only reason I didn’t score the hotel higher is because there was hair in the bathtub. Excellent location and staff very helpful and friendly. Room was a good size

The bathroom could have used a cleaning and the restaurant and bar definitely looked a little sad. But the staff was wonderful, the room was large and pretty and can’t beat the convenient location

Hotel was beautiful, staff were attentive & very kind, they gave us complimentary drinks vouchers as it was my husbands 60th, room was clean and the aesthetics were great however there was a strong smell of urine in the bathroom

Great location for rail travellers, reception staff excellent, room was spacious, quiet and clean. Glasgow city centre itself is not what it was and needs a boost but that's not a reflection on the hotel which cossets you from what's around you!

Very nice staff with a cool building and location. Unfortunately there were some things that made us shake our head. Body gel was provided but no washcloths were available. The shower set up was, in my opinion ridiculous. A small circular curtain that kept you in a frisbee size part of a huge claw foot tub. Also our room was a suite but instead of a love seat or sofa in the sitting room they provided 2 incredibly uncomfortable wing back chairs. The entire facility needs new carpet and a thorough cleaning. For instance there is a beautiful chandelier that spans 5 floors in the main staircase. There was so much dust and cobwebs in it that one felt that they were in a haunted mansion. Mattress was inner spring without pillow top. Not terrifically comfortable. Overall, I was satisfied but felt that the owners could potentially reinvest some of their profits into the property. Again staff was wonderful

This hotel was converted from an older one designed for train travelers. Originally the rooms were small so the current rooms are created from two older rooms. While the room had a sleeping area separate from the sitting area, it was not really functional. There were no drawers for clothes. On the bed side there was a place to hang clothes with only 4 hangers. On the other side there was a short armoire with no hangers. There was no desk and only a small table in the sitting area. Because this was the top floor, the windows were 6 feet above the floor and inaccessible. I would not stay here again.

The property is beautiful and located so as to give access to public transportation and lots of things to do in the area. The downside is it is attached to the train station so it is very noisy, especially early in the morning.

The shower in my room was a real issue and I do not want to stay in that style room again. The shower leaked water into the hallway, it was a rain style shower in the middle of bathtub, which was a surprise and hard for me since I have balance issues [it also had high walls for the tub]. Had I known that was the case I would not have stayed in that room at all. I was disappointed and it detracted from my stay.

Ac wasn’t really ac - and windows only opened a crack. If AC cooled to at least 21c - would be a great hotel.

LIVE MUSIC ALL DAY/NIGHT LONG that was a NIGHTMARE! I was in room 255 and I didn’t notice we were just above the Ball Rooms! We can’t rest a simple second in our two days trip!! 26/27 nov 2023. I WILL NEVER RETURN!

The room was super spacious and the ceilings were beautifully high.

The room was big and comfortable but lacking a fridge and microwave and coffee maker. the Concierges where Extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable of the hotel and aera, 5 stars for them. Now what needs work. The front desk persons where not so friendly and said at first they had nothing under my name, but with my con. number it was there. Second the Bar staff was not friendly at all, it seemed like we were brothering them every time we went to get drinks, now there was some sort of conference going on which may had something to do with the tude, don't know and with the HIGH prices, we won't be at the bar again. Third, our room should have been cleaned and towels restocked, but seems like removed the old ones, placed only bath towels back and didn't clean, very surprising for a 300+ a night room rate, also the taxes where very high, 160 total tax. Oh, breakfast was included, and it was excellent and the staff helpful and friendly, 5 stars for them. All in all its a toss up if we return to this hotel, many options around for lower price.

Reception: Prompt, friendly, efficient service. Appearance of the Receptionist on our arrival was poor. Needs to smarten up if she is promoting a professional front for the hotel. Bar Staff in the Champagne Lounge: One member of the bar staff was surly and clearly annoyed i had asked her if it was table or bar service. She threw a dirty glance at a younger bar member of staff, tutted and informed me that she supposed that she would have to serve me. It transpired that the other younger bar member of staff was on her first day of work, and informed me so on asking about directions for evening meal and breakfast. However she apologised for not knowing the information but she would go and find out. Which she dulybdid, apologising again. Bar restaurant: Our meal was lovely , to a point. One member of resturant staff rushed past and delivered a hot pan of cauliflower onto my place setting. She announced, 'cauliflower', slammed it down and off she went. I moved it to my side as it was a side dish, to find that the handle and pan were red hot. Breakfast: Utterly shocking service. The Chef was evidently unhappy that bacon and fried eggs were not being cooked and replenished quickly enough to cater for the amount of guests queuing. He eventually said, thats it im doing it myself and went off. We waited over an hour for eggs Floretine, the first attempt was shocking. It was just awful and not as we had experienced when previously staying here.

The proximity to the station was excellent, literally the entrance is at Glasgow Central. A beautiful, gracious hotel, the rooms are clean, comfortable and large. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to be helpful and answer the questions I had. A stay here was a brilliant way to end my trip and I'd definitely choose this hotel if I visit Glasgow again.

Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Glasgow and surrounded by many amazing restaurants and bars. 4th time staying here and staff were amazing as always! We had an issue with an aircon leak detector alarm going off at 3:30 am and the staff on the front desk came up and sorted it very promptly. Following day they had organised a different room and moved our luggage for us. These things happen and staff handled it perfectly. Thanks for another great stay. We will be back soon!

Ultra convenient location, and the interiors are quite modern. Car rental is 4 min walk away. Breakfast is basic but had all the classic items to make a full Scottish breakfast. Special shout-out to Dylan who went above and beyond when my train (Caledonian sleeper) was cancelled 3 hours before departure and I had to find last minute accommodation. He was very empathetic and made me feel better about the circumstances.

Problems checking in, room not ready at 7pm!! Free drinks offered as compensation by pleasant receptionist. Room perfect for rail departure the next day. A grand hotel that's still in reasonable shape.

What an amazing building and so simple to get around Glasgow and the surrounding area from . Grand architecture and opulence rule at this hotel together with first class service from every single staff member we had contact with. The bed and pillows were so comfy and both the bedroom and bathroom larger than average. Breakfast was a buffet with hot and cold options, including haggis which I opted for both days. If we are lucky enough to return to Glasgow again the this would be our hotel of choice.

Excellent customer service. Clean and lovely room. Food good at the champagne bar. Room service food good. Signage super confusing. Room was hot despite what thermostat says.

Very helpful front desk folks made my stay super easy and comfortable. They answered any and all my questions and concerns. The location cannot be overlooked but the food and the service are also great reasons to stay. It’s also pet friendly which just meant I bumped into lovely dogs throughout my stay! Cannot speak more highly of this hotel or its staff. Don’t hesitate, book it!

The hotel was fine, although it felt dark. And there was an event the night we stayed that kept us up until 11:30. The area was sketchy. I wouldn't stay there unless you need to get the train in the morning

Overall a pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with nice amenities — hot water kettle, tea/coffee/hot cocoa, cookies, and a good shower. The location is very convenient, with direct access to from the lobby to the Glasgow Central Station departure hall, and close to lots of restaurants, pubs and shops. We especially appreciate the hotel being dog friendly. A few areas could be improved: we had several large suitcases, but no one offered assistance or even a bell cart. It would’ve been nice if staff had at least helped holding the doors open. The elevators are quite slow — despite having two, the wait each time was long. Lastly, breakfast was just average: the coffee machines seemed miscalibrated, with inconsistent milk ratios and overflow.

I always enjoy staying at the hotel. The staff are always professional and courteous. The location is convenient, but not the safest, or cleanest. The accessible toilet needed attention on this occasion, as the bin was overflowing with soiled nappies. I will go back based on the staff and central location.

Absolutely convenient location! Grand old train station hotel, with modern conveniences. This was my second stay and if I go back to Glasgow, I will most definitely stay there again.

Absolutely wonderful stay, Dylan checked us in and couldn’t have been more helpful. Our room was spacious and well appointed with a cracking view over the station concourse as promised. Almost not noise could be heard from outside. We enjoyed the Champagne Bar and had a couple of cocktails made by James, these were superb. The food at breakfast was excellent, the only gripe we could have was having to pay extra for Eggs Benedict and the service was a little chaotic in the busy breakfast hall. But we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves overall.

This property is absolutely beautiful and in a very convenient location especially if you are arriving at the Central Train Station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful!

Fantastic hotel and room by really disappointed with breakfast. Had no eggs available at all served the rest of my breakfast in a cold plate had to wait 10 mins for scrambled eggs rest of breakfast was cold. Would stay in hotel again but would not eat there lots of eateries within very short walk

The breakfast was very poor food nor good product. The room felt pokey and dark.bedroom was a little chilly

At check in the receptionist (male) was very pleadant asked what our plans were and seemwd interested in our answer. Rooms were huge and looking onto the Concourse was just that wee bit extra special. Breakfast was great selection - my husband liked the normal toasters ha ha. Food was piping hot. This is our 3rd time here - will definately be back. Thanks for a wonderful stay
