It is a beautiful, historic building across the street from the Swan and Royal Shakespeare Theatres and next door to an historic pub. Everything is walkable in Stratford. We took a great walking tour from the beautiful park that included the church Shakespeare attended and is buried in. One note, there is no elevator in the hotel and our room was on the 3rd floor. They had very nice young people carry our bags up and down for us, but be aware! Very pleasant and accommodating staff, good food--we had breakfast there and also had a lunch there on the first day. Friendly people. Loved it and will definitely stay there again next time we're in Stratford-upon-Avon.

This is a large property that’s has been, lots of corridors and stairs, not suitable if you have a mobility issue. Location is excellent, garden area and parking excellent. Room we had was very quiet even though it overlooked the car park.

We always stay at the Arden when visiting Stratford. Lovely staff and always a pleasant stay. However our trip this time was overshadowed by the double wedding which was occurring during our stay. It would have been nice to be told upon arrival that there were two weddings and access to the downstairs amenities and outdoor patio were limited. In future, for myself and future guests, please make sure that you inform of weddings taking place at the hotel, as I would pick another weekend.

Great location in the town centre. Upmarket interiors , nice outdoor terrace for a pre theatre drink. The bath was very high sided and would not be easy for someone with arthritis to use particularly as there is no hand rail. We had continental breakfast but a good number of alternatives were available. The hotel benefits from having its own sizeable car park. not cheap but I guess that is a sign of the times we are living in .

Very nice hotel in the perfect location. Plenty of parking space which is always fantastic. We stayed 1 night as a family. The hotel is very comfortable for a short stay. The check in and welcome was met with very friendly smiley staff. Our room was fine with enough space for the 3 of us. The bed was comfy and we slept well. We had drinks in the late evening with the Negroni being one of the best one’s i’ve ever had, ended having two!! There were no pizzas when we tried to order room service around 11pm which was a bit disappointing so we settled for sandwiches/cheese platter/grapes/crackers/salad which was fine. The rooms are key entry, where I think card entry would be better. Would happily stay again. Stratford Upon Avon is a beautiful little town and obviously all things Shakespeare are quite incredible. Would happily recommend this place.

The buildings are old and floors are a bit creaky, but the rooms were a good size, clean, very convenient and well-located just across the street from thr RSC Theater and an easy walk to all the Stratford-upon-Avon tourist sites and shopping. There's also a private parking lot. The breakfast is also very good. This is our 2nd time staying here for a visit to Shakespeare's Birthplace.

The property was in a great location and the staff member that helped us checkin was really helpful. The room and bathroom were specious but the bathroom was not in a great condition. We noticed some stains on the sink that weren't cleaned properly, but this was quickly taken care of by the cleaning staff when we notified reception. The bathtub showed severe wear and tear, there were big rust spots, mould patches and the drain would not stay open. Overall we had a good experience, but the rooms are in need of some renovation and higher cleaning standards.

Very clean. Extremely clean and everything including tea and biscuits are of a high quality. We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was spacious and the bathroom was huge, with choice of both an independent shower and a bath.

Brilliant location, good parking, our room bathroom bit hadn't been emptied, toilet roll holder coming off the wall , other wise excellent, in the main dinning area, was closed to residents for private party which we wasn't informed, so we eat out.

The room was lovely and clean, a couple of things needed repair (toilet roll holder hanging off the wall) but otherwise the whole stay was perfect! Staff were friendly, cleaners were lovely, the food was great and the bed was super comfy! We will definitely be booking with them again!

This is a very well located hotel close to the town centre, the river and the RSC Theatre. The room was comfortable and well equipped. Decor is noticeably fading and the bathroom showed signs of age with rusting metal and mould on the grouting. The common areas also show wear and tear. I enjoyed my cooked breakfast but the continental selection was very limited for a hotel of this type. The butter was served rock hard and difficult to spread on the toast. The restaurant was very cold in the morning and we had to go back to our room for sweaters. Service in the bar and restaurant was attentive and friendly. All in all we enjoyed the stay and it is good value at this time of year

The location is great for the RSC Theatre. Unfortunately my room was well below expectation - I don’t know if booking via Expedia even as a VIP guest was the cause. The room was on the ground floor at street level so anyone walking past could look straight in. The bathroom was in poor repair mouldy grout on the bath and damage to the bath itself. There was no dresser or shelving for clothes just hanging wardrobe. All in all a big disappointment.

Check in was efficient and friendly and they also very willingly changed the bed configuration to two singles. Bedroom would benefit with electric sockets by the bed. Excellent proximity to the theatre.

We had a wonderful stay at The Arden. Reception were friendly and helped with our bags. The room was amazing. We booked a Delux room and stayed in 'Pine'. We travelled with our little girl and she had her own bed in the room. There was plenty of room for the extra bed. Our bed was huge and very comfortable! The bathroom was amazing, I have never seen such a big bath!! We booked breakfast and dinner and I'm so pleased ww did. The food was outstanding! I am gluten free and they took great care over each meal. There were great choices for our little girl and she enjoyed the food too. Loads of choices for breakfast. I highly recommend staying here.

Love the property and we fell in love with the place when we visited the first time, however we felt we didn’t get the room we wanted on our stay. I asked the staff at reception if there was a chance to upgrade to a sofa room and they didn’t even try to look or ask if we wanted to go to another room. We were on the lower floor which was a bit noisy when we asked for a second floor room. It didn’t seem like we had the vip treatment like we did in the summer.

Such an amazing hotel. Was upgraded to the Maple room when we arrived which is so lovely. The Maple room has a view of the RSC and an amazing king sized bed!

The hotel is lovely the staff are fantastic however you have to pay for parking which is not made clear on booking also our shower door broke as nd fell off which could have caused quite an injury.

Great place, fantastic location right by the river and town. We go to Stratford quite a bit and this is by far the nicest we’ve found. The bedroom was beautiful with a huge bed and large bathroom. Separate shower and bath. Breakfast was great too with helpful staff. We will be back

Beautiful hotel perfectly situated beside the river Avon and overlooking the RSC theatre. We stayed in a superior room with views of the theatre which were wonderful. The room itself was well appointed with amenities such as tea/coffee and real milk in the fridge. The check in and concierge service were all impeccable. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would definitely return.

Not as comfortable as expected. the bed was not the comfiest. The furniture was bland. Bedroom windows were broken , the sash did not stay open. The continental breakfast was very basic. Only one kind of bread and pastry. The pastry was cold , no meat or cheeses. It was an okay stay but not as good value as some other four star hotels in the same area.

The customer service was spot on from start to finish. We stayed 2 nights on a last minute getaway and the hotel didnt disappoint. We went away for a little break after our engagement. The hotel left a little plate with a treat on wishing us "Congratulations" which was a really nice touch. The cleanliness of the room and hotel overall was really good. The only thing that was to fault was the amenities holder in the shower was broken and the shower waste was slightly discoloured. Those are the only things. The rooms are really spacious, the bed was massive. Overall, we would absolutely stay here again and even thinking of booking a stay as a gift for relatives. Thank you

The Arden held the charm of my 10-day trip. It is located across the street from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. I stayed in a Deluxe room with an incredible bathroom! It had a huge tub and dual rain-showers. It appeared newly renovated. Breakfast was both a la carte and buffet. Dinner was a nice atmosphere, inside and outside. I think the most delight was created by the staff, specifically the hotel manager Sai who was so kind and attentive.

Upgraded room was not so good. The room smelt damp due to a leak in the bathroom, the bed was uncomfortable, the tv did not get all the channels and the people in the next room were noisy, waking us up at 6am with their tv blaring. The lady on reception however was very apologetic and helpfull so found us another room, which althoug smaller,was much better. The breakfast on the first morning was ok but on the second morning my husband was served cold scrambled eggs which he had to send back. All in all it was a pleasant stay in a nice hotel in a good location with very pleasant staff, but all those stairs!

Sadly not as good as it used to be. Reception on arrival was excellent, and the room was spacious and well appointed except for a couple of stains on carpet. Dinner was excellent, and the staff were friendly but professional. Bed was ace but pillows were very soft. Breakfast was sadly, only average, a far cry from what it used to be ! Reception on leaving was unpleasant and ill mannered, I've stayed here a lot but I don't think i'll be back.

The staff is truly exceptional, as is the location and suitability for theatre goers. This is an older hotel in some ways but we found it charming. Several steps or stairs in unusual places but so many smiles and kind words. Very nice breakfast and pre-dinner meals. Champagne cold and well-served. We have been to Stratford 6-7 times over the last decade and will always come here now.

Had a great time in Stratford, hotel was lovely so we’re staff, only had one gripe it’s an old building and the room we stayed in was by the staircase and it was very noisy and squeaky would stay again but choose a different room.

Service in the Brasserie was slow due to a large party. I waited 20 minutes for my soup but after that there were no problems. My room was lovely and reception staff gave me the room with disabled access which was very helpful.

A really lovely hotel conveniently located near the RSC theatres & riverside. The staff in all areas were so friendly & helpful. The room we had was spacious & very comfortable. We had breakfast & evening meal in the restaurant, the food was delicious, cooked to order & the service great. So impressed that we’ll stay there again.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were very good and onsite parking for £10/stay welcome. Evening meal in the restaurant was very good. Main thing that stops us giving 5 stars is the mattress which we found very firm and we both woke each morning with back and hip ache (we normally have medium firm mattresses and don't normally have a problem when staying away). Also watch out for the 20% service charge added to the meal bill - we missed it at the time. This is well above the UK norm for good service!!

Had a fabulous time. Hotel lovely. Room really well equiped and bath huge. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Very professional had a meal for husbands 60th and all courses and service was fantastic. Only complaint was pillows too flat. Otherwise would definately recommend staying at the Arden. Great location too.Parking really good.

Lovely property in an utterly brilliant location. Some aspects of our room were a bit disappointing. It looked a bit tired in places Breakfast was also disappointing. We had a lovely brunch at Yorks in town instead on the second day. But we’d be back to the hotel based purely on location and the fact it was clean and staff welcoming and helpful

Hotel is lovely, staff are friendly and keen to help. Rooms are spacious and there are some nice touches, like fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast on this stay was poor. Service was very slow, items were not available, coffee and tea were very weak. We have visited before and this was nothing like previous experiences. We had a pre theatre dinner which was excellent.
