SpringHill Suites Potomac Mills Woodbridge

The first room was a handicapped room (neither of us are handicapped), there was mold growing in and around the wallpaper on the wall and in the bathroom.There was no AC in the hall and one of the elevators was non- operational.When we entered the room, the air conditioning was off. The a/c worked but the room smelled.We got another room (handicapped) but no a/c in hall. Staff was friendly though.

The hotel didn’t have hot water at night, no hot water in the morning and after 12, they turned off water due to some issue. Also their toilet and bathrooms are separate with a sliding frosted glass door and no lock for the toilet and bathroom. Their shower knobs were a century old. They seriously need a makeover for the hotel.

No CBS, NBC, CNN, ABC? Empty box of tissues! Loud traffic all night!

I have stayed at this property several times over the past few years, not sure if they have changed owners or management companies, but the stay this time was disappointing. It does appear they have done a refresh on some items however the rooms need more attention. Specifically the beds. The bed in my room literally had a creator in it, about the size of a watermelon. Certainly time for the mattress to be replaced. Also, beside the bed there was gum in the carpet. The hotel also has that old stale hotel smell, not fresh or pleasant. They now charge $10 for parking, which for the area of the hotel is odd. The employee who checked me in was nice and friendly. However the employee at the front desk in the morning, was preoccupied with his cell phone, he did not even look up or acknowledge me. I hope they can get it together.

No cable for the 2 day stay! Missed the Thanksgiving day parade and the football games. Really sucked.

Disappointing with the noise late at night. Limited parking. Open sewage pit next to hotel.

Pool was dissapointing because it was not heated

The hotel is a great location, staff was great at check in and through out the visit. The room was clean, loved the set up having the bathroom seperated made getting ready in the morning easier. The bed was a little firm and the hot water apparently went out during our visit. Breakfast in the morning was great, different options to fill you up. Outside of not being notified of the hot water outage, our stay was great.

Was kind of upset to find out there was a notice from the fire marshall that the fire suppression system was inoperable. There also is not enough space between the trundle bed and the area where the gridge is to pull out the trundle all the way. Once it is out you can not access the fridge and you have to pull the mattress out to be able to put the sheets on it. If i would have been able to relocate and would've have lost my money on the booking i would have not stayed. Parking is horrible. We had to park down the hill in the back and walk around the gotel to check in as there was no where to pull in to checknin and at least get key cards to use a different entrance once parked. Breakfast was good. The room in general was okay. Could not use the tv from both queen beds and plugs for medical devices were not available without having to move night stand.

I've stayed at many Springhill Suites up and down the East Coast over the last 5-6 years for my business travels. I like the layouts of the hotels and the modern touches and tech. Unfortunately, this one is in need of some major updating. When I first checked into my room, I placed my items down and went and grabbed something to eat. Having the toilet and shower in separate rooms was a bit odd to me. About two hours later, when I returned, the first thing I noticed was the TV was about 20 years old and that it would not pivot or turn towards the couch/living area of the room. Most of the channels were grainy and not HD. Then I noticed the bed was extremely low to the ground. When I pushed down on to the mattress, I could press all the way to the box spring underneath and feel the springs poking through the mattress. I requested a different room due to the bed issues alone. I was assigned another room on the same floor down the hall. This one had two queen beds, but the same issues existed with those mattresses too. I was told all the beds were the same by the gentleman at the front desk. I'm a big man, and I can honestly say this was the most uncomfortable stay/sleep I've ever had. The network plug in the room did not work, so I was stuck using the wifi, which was not fast enough for me to use my VPN connection to work. Overall, not up to par with other SHS hotels for sure.

Everything was fine until last night, I got up to use the restroom and saw a live cockroach at the sink. I killed it. My room was on the fourth floor, so I believe the whole hotel is infested with cockroaches. I had the complementary breakfast the first two days which thinking I may have eaten cockroaches droppings made me feel ill. I told the front desk person and he said please call the manager later when they get in. I called and was told one of the managers left last week and the other manager was filling in for the GM and may be around Monday. The desk person said they had no way to contact the manager, then told me to contact costumer service. I called and they started a ticket for the incident and told me thank you for the information and have a nice day. It doesn’t seem they care about this at all.

We were there for 2 nights. There was a large clump of hair in the elevator for the duration of our stay. Additionally, the floors were dirty and sticky. The lobby bathroom floor stayed wet and there was no toilet paper or paper towels stocked from Friday- Sunday despite the front desk politely being made aware.

The mattresses felt like camp mattresses. I could feel the springs in the bed and so could everyone else in the family. I’m glad we only stayed one day. My boys were going to sleep on the trundle and couch. The mattress had stains all over it and there was tons of crumbs, candy and even a freeze pop that still had liquid in it. The hotel looks classy, the need to clean and get new mattresses.

First, the room had an unpleasant, funky smell, which made the stay uncomfortable and did not meet expected cleanliness standards. Additionally, breakfast was advertised as opening at 7:00 AM, but it did not open until 7:30 AM. This caused inconvenience, especially for guests with early schedules. When breakfast was finally available, there was no fresh coffee provided. The hot water was also not hot, making it impossible to properly prepare a drink.

The mattresses were awful, thin and worn. The entire room was dim. The blinds were broken. The handle on the bathroom door was completely broken off. The mirror in the bathroom was dull and dirty. The breakfast was not good. I booked this hotel because of the “excellent “ rating, and paid $160 for one night, needless to say I was extremely disappointed with Marriott hotel and Expedia for the deceptive rating.

The bed was uncomfortable and it was difficult to make the thermostat a good temperature to sleep. The facility itself was okay.

Spacious rooms. Very comfortable.

The location was very nice, clean, and quiet. My disappointment came with the room and bedding. The thermostat wouldn't hold the correct temp, the safe didn't lock (we did forget to let the front desk know), and the bed and pillows were horrible. The pillows were flat and hard and the mattress was hard and lumpy. Unfortunately, neither my husband or I were able to sleep comfortably. Overall we had a nice stay for the two nights we were there, but for long term stay, this would not be my first choice. I was also grateful that the hotel had a vacancy after a miss on my part with our first hotel.

I stay at the same hotel because it's always very nice The rooms are very large You have separate sitting area You have a refrigerator You have a desk that is away from the beds and also I like the idea of the toilet being in its separate area and not where the bathroom is. The front desk is always pleasant.

Mattress needs replacing in (2 Queen Room) Handicapped room. Other than that it was fine

For a one night stay, it’s okay. The bathroom lighting was terrible. The shower door opened inward, leaving little space to get in the shower. Definitely would stay at this location or brand. The bed was very uncomfortable as well.

Customer Service needs work. During my check-in, I was waiting for almost an hour and even called the desk phone multiple times while waiting for someone to come to the front and help.

When we checked into the room we noticed one of the pillows had a stain so we called to request a room service and the representative that answered said room service was not available and that she was very busy so we should come down stairs. “Sorry”. They would not be available until tomorrow so we should call back. We checked out 9:30am. Not a very welcoming experience

During my stay, I encountered multiple issues that significantly impacted my experience, including: 1. I complete a thorough check of my rooms upon entering them i noticed the toilet in my first room was not flushing and had no water in it I called down to the lobby and was told there was no maintenance on site or on call for a completely booked hotel, this was un heard of so I was offered a new room. 2. The second room was not properly cleaned there were brown stains everywhere the bed was broke on one side and there was an awful smokey smell so I requested a new room and was told the rooms were all booked up and was offered cleaning supplies to clean a room Im not getting paid to clean so unacceptable so I asked for a manager was told yet again on a busy completely booked night that a manager would not be in or on call and that I could send an email and I'll be responded to on Monday when one is in, I've never heard of such the room was already paid for I had already driven 6+ hours from New York it was late and I was not being offered any type of assistance so I asked for my original room back and some tools to fix a toilet I was NOT getting paid to fixThen miraculously I was called that there was an alleged "cancellation" so was moved for a third time extremely frustrated extremely tired getting no real help,

The front desk clerk was excellent! You dont see customer service like was provided nearly as often as we should. He was very pleasant and professional. Kudos to him!

Right off major highway. Tucked away nicely for quiet sleep. Super fast check-in. Nice free breakfast. Bed was a little too hard for my comfort

Loved the location convenient to I-95 for a quick overnight stop and break. Shops and restaurants nearby were great! The hotel and staff were wonderful.

Loved the property and facility. Lovely, clean, spacious, updated --very, very nice. My only complaint is that it is nearly impossible to find! There are NO signs on the Interstate indicating the correct exit. I knew the exit from their website. But there are no signs at the exit. Confusing Marriott Suites signs. Once you exit, there are NO signs except for a different Marriott property, PLUS you have to pass what little you MAY see by accident (I didn't even see the hotel on the first pass, and had to circle back.) Then, IF you even manage to get off the exit, you have to drive THROUGH a shopping center, PAST the other Marriott, to find this in the back of the property. Utterly ridiculous. Facilities Planning/Commercial VP deserved to be fired.

This property is practically at Potomac Mills and close to great restaurants. It was well maintained and very quiet.

It was clean and the staff were friendly. The included breakfast had a good selection (waffles, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, eggs, juice, coffee, milk). It was clean and well stocked. Hot water in the room and great water pressure.

We travel constantly, and the breakfast at this hotel is the worst we’ve had. It was literally just eggs with biscuits, some juice, cofee and waffles. The price is high compared to other places with the same features, and they usually offer a variety like bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes, among other things. Also, the eggs tasted bad, and my son felt sick about an hour after eating them, and the only difference from his normal diet was the eggs. The price does not match the quality; several lights in the room didn’t work.

We had pleasant stay. We were disappointed, they told us when we checked in breakfast from 7-10. But we went down at 9.15 for breakfast and they start closing at 9.30. My daughter want some waffle and she couldn't get it, the lady said no more we close at 9.30. It's not about the food, it's the idea.

The breakfast wasn’t the greatest. Scrambled eggs was really bad had to throw out and not eat.
