Desperately needs a refurb. as is very tatty and worn but at least it is clean! Soundproofing between the rooms is not good at all - can hear your neighbours and constant door banging - would be good if they put soft door closers on the outer and bathroom doors. The bonus to this hotel over others on the area is the free parking which means the overall cost is less even when staying in a club room. Overall, fine for the price but not good if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to neighbourly noise

The rooms don’t have air conditioning and so a small portable fan is placed in the room which does very little to cool it down . The windows don’t open more than 10 centimetres so it was unbearably hot and was unable to get to sleep in a room which temperature was plus 25 deg C . The breakfast was great and have a good selection and always stocked so no complaints there .

Very pleasing stay at this hotel. The room and public areas were clean. The food and the service in the restaurant and bar were very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, the hotel offers exceptional value for money.

Thought everything had gone well. The gentleman I checked in with seemed very good at the time, sorted our breakfast and we checked in the car. I asked if we needed to do anything else with the car park, as there were screens for it too, but he said that because he had filled in the form and I had signed it, that there was nothing else needed. A week later, BAM!!! Parking ticket. Not happy at all. Waiting for results of appeal

The foyer and ground floor areas look great. The bedrooms are tired. Mishmash of furniture, filthy carpets and grotty bathrooms. Needs a major upgrade. Worst issue is not being able to park at 9pm at night. Several cars had parked across the bays therefore taking up 2 spaces. The car park is used by non hotel guests. I booked specifically for safe parking.

Had a lovely stay. Friendly staff at reception to help with my late check in. Free parking, just tell receptionist when checking in. Nice location with plenty of shops in walking distance. Had a beautiful view from my room too which was a pleasant surprise!

The stay started of really well. We had complimentary parking, check in was smooth. The room has a great view but you could not open the windows. The heating was turned up high. We switched off the radiator but there was no way to ventilate the room and it was too hot to sleep. I went to the bathroom to shower to cool off and there was a cockroach on the shower curtain! The room finally cooled off around 6/7am and I was able to sleep. To top it all off, the TV was set on a sleep timer and would switch on every 4 hrs. Not the best birthday stay. Will not be returning.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the hygiene standards in Room assigned during our recent stay. Upon arrival, we observed several cleanliness issues, including the presence of 5 moths, for which I have video evidence. Additionally, only one large towel and one small towel were provided for two adults and an infant. We found another one even in the morning in the curtains as we were leaving. We stayed for less than 8 hours and had Medical appointment so unfortunately we just reported to the reception and left. These unsanitary conditions significantly impacted my family's experience, and I believe they are directly linked to a skin reaction developed by my baby. I have already brought these matters to the attention of the reception staff and am prepared to provide the video recording as substantiation. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent! The room was lovely and outlook was beautiful even in the rain however, the bathroom was grim!!! Black on ceiling due to use of shower and no ventilation snd the bath generally needed a good revamp as was very tired and old!!

The main issue was the bathroom, it was not cleaned properly. Found as many as 10 hairs in bathtub. The shower won’t sometimes turn off. The water system is one of the worst ones I’ve seen. I can either have really cold or really hot water when you want to rinse your face. You can’t choose. But the room it self was ok. Would have preferred much better pillows, but otherwise ok

Booked 2 rooms for an overnight stay - shabby entrance with tatty porch / overhang and underwhelming greeting from reception staff. Very basic rooms which are not particularly cheap and don’t look as though they’ve been decorated or modernised for years - possibly not even cleaned either! Towel was dirty on arrival and disgusting stain on the net curtain. There was a plastic bag stuffed in the bath overflow and generally grubby bath, shower, tiles & grout. Furniture all scuffed, wonky and very run down. No ceiling lights so had to rely on tall corner lamp which didn’t work as it didn’t even have a light bulb in it!! Complained to the receptionist who “thanked” us for our feedback and said she would pass onto housekeeping - absolutely appalling service - stay well clear!

We stayed at this hotel in June had a room overlooking the Quay, which was lovely,. On this occasion room was on opposite side of hotel, not so nice and was disappinted as cleanliness of room wasnt to standard.

Staff were friendly and efficient, nice welcome at check in. The hotel itself though, is looking a bit tired, and could certainly do with some serious maintenance. Bathroom was let down by the poor condition of its tiling, and we had a box window, which is suffering majorly with damp. Paint had blistered badly and was spreading to the walls. The staff can be great, but if the company wont back them up with spending on maintenance they are on an uphill struggle.

View from the hotel room was very nice , room itself was a good size and a big bed decor was very dated phone was from the early 1990’s whole room and bathroom could do with a renovation broken tiles in the bathroom hot tap for the bath was not working had to fill the bath using the out dated shower unit , only had half a toilet roll for my 2 night stay and no replacement, bed linen and towels did not smell freshly washed and actually smelt like someone else had used them before , the breakfast buffet was very nice and a wide variety staff were very friendly and check in was quick and easy on a whole the room was nice and quiet Would I stay there again probably not but I didn’t dislike my stay there and served its purpose as was out watching the test match all day it , it was easily accessible by car and had good parking and walking distance to old Trafford cricket ground and good facilities around the hotel

Staff were great, room was nice with a view of the river. Food was good. Nice location.

Good location, near the Salford Quays Tram stop and have views of the Quays and the city. Friendly staff. Room is a bit outdated, but itself can be a character of. Not enough power sockets in the room. Bed is very comfortable.

Looks better in the pictures. Room was big with comfy bed but needs updating. WiFi didn’t work. Worst thing was lack of sound proofing. I had to listen to someone being sick for 2 hours, then people were partying in their room and doors banging. The final straw was being woken up at 8am by a text from the hotel to check out! I don’t need a text when I am sleeping in the actual hotel.

nice big room with a comfortable bed, tv was on when I opened the door which freaked me out a bit. Bathroom was a reasonable size too, the taps on the bath were quite difficult to turn. The were only 2 plug sockets, one for the kettle above the cupboard but the other was underneath the desk, so you had to crawl to it.

Rooms are spacious and clean but dated. No A/C, windows open slightly and fan provided.

The windows were very drafty. Luckily it was a warm day. The room was very dated with old furniture. Bed comfy and lovely pillows.

Extremely disappointing. Room was tired and need of decoration. The most uncomfortable aspect of the stay was the temperature in the room. It was absolutely boiling ... no air conditioning. Never slept and the windows could only be opened marginally as we were on the fourth floor.

Hotel is good location and dated but comfortable we had an issue whilst there I only purchased one item from the bar for £6.90 and on return home noticed £69.90 had come out of my bank I phoned them straight away to explain thinking this would be a simple refund and after 4 weeks and 5 different people on the phone over long periods I am still waiting for my refund so be careful when using cards to pay this may well be a one off but rather mention than someone else get caught .

Definitely not a 4 Star hotel. Stayed 2 nights, room not serviced at any time during my stay. Bin not emptied, Tea and coffee for room, has to be collected from reception, dirty wet towels not changed you have to request from reception then wait over 1 hour for them to be delivered. When you ask reception you are told if you want your room serviced you have to request this to be done. I would expect this to be standard service in an apparent 4 Star hotel, especially at the prices charged. Breakfast were the food is Luke warm a best, if you are Gluten intolerant as my wife is the toaster was not working, told to use toaster for normal bread (cross contamination). coffee machine empty, you have to request it to be filled with coffee.

Really great 4 night stay, it needs a revamp which is under way, but the metro is over the road, the Quays a 10 minute walk away with a choice of restaurants, the Lowry and Iwm North, Central Manchester 3 stops away. The staff were really good, room clean, check in swift and friendly, would stay again with no hesitation

Shambolic and quite unbelievable. I had booked my stay over 1 month before arriving for a twin room. The day before I was sent an early check in-email from the Copthorne which I responded to and received a confirmation number. At checkin I was told that my booking was found, but there were no rooms remaining in the hotel. I asked how can this happen when I have 1) a booking reference from 1 month ago and 2) a pre-check in confirmation from the day prior. The answer was ‘I do not know, but there are no rooms left. Our company need to stop sending pre-checkin messages like this. I dont like them’. . . How helpful to my situation. Not! No solution came forward so I insisted to the staff speak with a superior. I was travelling with my elderly father for a memorable football game. A double room was offered after some period of waiting (not sure how it magically appeared), but no offer of two rooms. The staff asked if I had tried to check-in earlier at the time of football and I said ‘no’. It was then said to me that had I done so, I would have a twin room as it is ‘first come first serve’. How incompetent can a company be to allow a booking, send a pre-checkin and yet prioritise on-the-day walkin customers with no prior booking? With no alternative I accepted a double room and compensatory breakfast. The toilet had not been flushed in the room which just added to the disgrace of this outdated hotel.

Couldn't get any reply when phoning reception from my room. Tried on three occasions. When I went down to reception, there were no customers and it wasn't busy, so don't know why there was no reply.

Out dated. We were told check in was 2pm so that's why we booked it as we had an event to go to - the lady at the check in was extremely rude and told us she knows it says 2pm but in fact it's 3pm and we can't check in. This made us late for our plans for the rest of the day and we even had to cancel one of them as we wouldnt have been ready in time. Her attitude and unhelpfulness really annoyed us. The rooms are dated and basic, not what I'd expect from a 4 star. The bed was really uncomfortable and I burnt my hand washing them, not expecting the tap to get hotter than the kettle!

Not my first time here. Great spot for the football. The receptionist who checked us in was very helpful and bubbly and made us feel very welcome.

The room had not been hoovered. Not enough plug sockets and no usb in the room we stayed in. The service at the bar was awful, after 10 minutes of waiting we left. The bed was comfortable,but the best thing about the hotel was the view of the quay

Good location for Sporting events, public transport links, shopping and restaurants in Manchester. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and good value

Excellent location and good free available parking. The room was okay - USB points would be ideal. Chester on reception provided a great welcome.The tram is a 5 minute walk.

Great location

Stopped here for a gig at O2 Victoria Warehouse, there's a metro stop pretty much opposite the hotel and the venue was about 10 minutes walk away. We had a great view of the quays from the room. The bathroom felt like it was from the '70s but everything was functional. Overall good value.

The hotel is ideally placed on the Quays to visit MediaCityUK, The Lowry and Imperial War Museum North. The hotel is a couple of minutes from a tram station to take you into the city. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

The Copthorne is in a fantastic location on the quays. The staff I found very help full and Courteous. I will be staying again.

First time using. Dated hotel but free parking in Salford which is rare. Wonderful warm welcome. Room was comfy although very 1980s type decor. Decent bedding. Did not try restaurant but breakfast rather limited and very basic

Room and bed was comfortable and clean. The barman that also worked in the restaurant was friendly and worked hard and the restaurant itself looked lovely. But the rest of the restaurant staff was not good. The menu was very limited, seen better in a pub. My husband had finished his started before mine arrived, no experience with allergy sufferers-it’s as if there in no qualified chef or staff on site. Will not eat there again if I do stay.

Hotel was in a perfect location. However this is the only plus for me. The rest was pretty disappointing. The Hotel is in need of a upgrade as it looking very tired. Bathroom was clean but looking very old. Lots of broken tiles across the full bathroom. Shower unit very old and in need of repair. Showerhead extremely dirty. Room itself very large and clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Disappointed with the lack of room cleaning services. Tag was left for our room to be cleaned. Requested fresh towels but they never arrived. We had to just take towels and loo roll from the cleaners trolley. Breakfast on the 1st morning was outstanding. Lots of choice and plenty of availability. However not so on the 2nd morning. We had to wait while items were being cooked. Both Mornings the restaurant was roughly the same amount of people dinning so it can be a case of it being busy. Just 2 days totally different. But plenty of choice and tasty. Check in and out so easy. We done the Pre Check in and this made it very easy. Overall the hotel done the job we wanted it do in term of location for a couple of nights away to relax and do some Xmas Shopping, However for the price we paid I have to say we are disappointed as a few minor issue lets it down. Ultimately not value for the money.

Friendly staff, Clean Room, Good breakfast.

We booked a club room which gave us a lovely big room & breakfast included. A complimentary drink voucher also included. Very clean & has everything you need. Needs a bit of TLC but on the whole - great! Had an evening meal which was excellent. Buffet English breakfast also excellent. Staff very attentive & friendly. Walking distance to Manchester United Football Stadium, The Coronation Street Experience & Salford Quays. Short tram ride to Manchester Piccadilly for shopping. Ideal hotel & very well situated.
