!!! I highly recommend the Gotham Hotel. Excellent service, nice rooms, ideal location for many activities in the city. The property has the convenience of a cozy breakfast room that doubles as bar, and the rooms include well-stocked mini-bars ($10 a day bar credit was a nice surprise), daily coffee pods (we drink a lot of coffee in the mornings so requested more and were always accommodated.) Enjoy lovely bonus of small balconies for relaxing with a drink and a city view in between city treks. We stayed at the top in 251, and it was a super suite. Nice living space for chilling inside if you don't want to take advantage of the balconies (2 exclusively available for this suite.) The bathroom is modern and comfortable. Reception and management was very friendly and helpful (best recommendation for car service to airport, etc.) You have many choices for lodging in NYC, and your decision can make or break your city stay. Stay at the Gotham and remove all worry! It's great!

The hotel is in a great location and parking is just across the street at a discount. $120 for parking 3 nites was with discount. The staff were very nice and helpful. When I was checking out the staff went out of their way to help with what I needed to get on the road.

No gym onsite (Hotels.com said there was onsite gym) - it was a 20 minute walk away from the hotel. HVAC system made banging noise which needed to be fixed. Housekeeping didn’t provide full set of replacement towels.

I liked that it was a smaller hotel, staff was pleasant and helpful, notably, Vuk. I wish that I had time to enjoy the public balconies, gym, and restaurant in the hotel. It was in a good location. I would stay here again.

Great boutique hotel with several balconies and terraces - rare sights in Manhattan. Walking distance to the Theater District but not right in the middle of that madness. It's also only half a block to Fifth Avenue for great shopping and restaurants.

The hotel is just ok… No regular coffee in the rooms. Floors were dirty, balcony door would not lock, there are not alot of amenities as you would think for the price. Location is really the only great thing.

The room was nice, spacious, and clean. Balcony was a nice touch, however the only view you have is a wall, which makes having it pointless. It was inconvinent that they did not have an ice maker or vending machine on the property.

Our bed sheets were stained. Balcony handle fell out when I tried to open it to go outside and couldn't be fixed until the next morning. We had our stuff in the balcony and had no access to them until someone came the next day to open the door.

The staff was great, easy going and welcoming. It was raining one night and the doorman let us borrow an umbrella. The hotel smells nice but it’s a bit run-down. Reception area is small. The room was very spacious but it felt empty. The room smelled clean, but you could see lots of dust settled on the bed frame, and the sheets unfortunately didn’t smell clean either (they didn’t smell bad but it just didn’t smell like they had been washed:/) The lighting wasn’t great but during the day it was nice to open the shades to let sunlight through. The restaurant looked nice but we did not get to eat there. Also, Roosevelt Hotel is nearby and there were some sketchy characters hanging out there. Would I return to Gotham? Probably not. Years ago I stayed at a Homewood Suites near time square that was way better in my opinion. Would i recommend to a friend? Maybe. I would recommend they look somewhere else first (like the Homewood suites), but if not, it’s okay to stay here too.

You’re paying for the location and the intimate feel of having your own facilities. The staff was very kind and helpful, always courteous. The room itself was well equipped and you have a very nice view and the location is excellent. But I was disappointed by the cleanliness of the room. For $350 a night I’d like to not see stains on the mirror and sunshades, and I’d like the door handle to the terrace to not feel like it’s gonna fall apart. It was really the little things adding up that were annoying to not make this experience truly excellent.

The good: Good location. Great A/C. We liked the firm bed. The soap and other bathroom products were great. A/C outlet close to bed for those that need that and lots of convenient USB ports. Excellent quality fake kleenex which is hard to find. The bad: The room has VERY limited lighting. No overhead lighting. Two small end-table lights which make finding things difficult. There is the bed and a small desk chair for seating. There is no daily coffee or minibar service. No ice machine anywhere on property. Everything (including ice which shows up in a plastic bag) is by front desk request only. Nothing is just automatically replaced daily except towels and bath products. The bathroom (recently renovated) has several issues. There are no grab bars anywhere and the wet floor is extremely slippery. The shower floor is also extremely slippery and no handholds anywhere. A lawsuit waiting to happen. There is no footrest to place your foot in the shower. To turn the shower on requires you to reach across from the door to reach the faucet and in the process get wet from the overhead shower head. Towels are not exactly "resort" size or material.

I have stayed at the Gotham 30 times or more. And for whatever reason the entire time we were there the noise from outside made it impossible to sleep! There was garbage trucks from 10pm to 11 am when we checked out . And the noise was unbearable!! I’m not sure what was going on but I’m not sure if I would stay again.

The hotel had a king and a roll out couch, the couch was a very uncomfortable futon. 14th floor was loud. King was comfortable, bathroom was tired. Good location for GrandCentral/Theaters no lobby to sit.

I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the loud noise that the AC made when the TV was turned off when we were ready to go to sleep. I had a hard time sleeping because of the annoying noise & the only thing that worked to decrease the noise was by sticking a towel into the bottom part of the AC. And that was the only time we fell asleep.

I reserved a balcony with a view and the view was a wall. I was very disappointed with that. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very nice. However, I would not have paid the extra money for a balcony to stare at a wall.

Brandon was the only good thing about the stay. There was construction that went on outside of our window from 8pm to 3 am. This was not the hotels fault but the way they handled it was. We called down and asked to switch rooms because of the jackhammering. They said they had already given them to other customers. The girl at the front desk was bothered and didn’t seem to care whatsoever. She said you can come down and get earplugs. Didn’t even offer to bring them up. Never ever again will we stay here or recommend it. Sad to we go to NY every 3 months. Room was dirty, snacks that were available in room for purchase had been opened and half eaten by previous guests. Go to the The Muse!!!! So much better

The girl at the front desk was bothered and didn’t seem to care whatsoever. She said you can come down and get earplugs. Didn’t even offer to bring them up. Never ever again will we stay here or recommend it. Sad to we go to NY every 3 months. Room was dirty, snacks that were available in room for purchase had been opened and half eaten by previous guests. Go to the The Muse!!!! So much better

We were supposed to get 2 free drinks, late checkout and a room upgrade. We got none of the above except for one bottle of water. We were told we would have a $10 room minibar credit and then got charged for snacks. Staff was very nice but beware because you don’t get what’s advertised !

The gentleman at the front desk when checking out was very rude with zero apology after I kindly shared that his reply to my question was unnecessarily rude. We also ordered from the restaurant by leaving a voicemail, per their request, we never received the order or even a return call. The room was also slightly underwhelming when considering the price.

stayed here for a week on business and it felt like a home away from home. the room was super comfy, the shower had both a rain shower head and a hand held sprayer, and the staff was amazingly accommodating. I was helped by Farzana, Surban and Ilda multiple times, and they were always incredibly friendly and helpful, never making me feel like my requests were too big or troublesome. They even went the extra mile and arranged to have a fan sent to my room for extra white noise! Every single person I interacted with was great. The hotel was also smaller, with I think only 3/4 rooms per floor making it feel more intimate and private. Definitely recommend for a long term NYC stay! I’ll miss the staff at Gotham Hotel!

We had a great getaway! The hotel is beautiful and the restaurant, the Reading Room, is amazing! The place was a perfect location for our excursions. We walked to a show and hopped on the subway to see galleries in SoHo. Highly recommended the Gotham!

Great boutique hotel with several balconies and terraces - rare sights in Manhattan. Walking distance to the Theater District but not right in the middle of that madness. It's also only half a block to Fifth Avenue for great shopping and restaurants.

!!! I highly recommend the Gotham Hotel. Excellent service, nice rooms, ideal location for many activities in the city. The property has the convenience of a cozy breakfast room that doubles as bar, and the rooms include well-stocked mini-bars ($10 a day bar credit was a nice surprise), daily coffee pods (we drink a lot of coffee in the mornings so requested more and were always accommodated.) Enjoy lovely bonus of small balconies for relaxing with a drink and a city view in between city treks. We stayed at the top in 251, and it was a super suite. Nice living space for chilling inside if you don't want to take advantage of the balconies (2 exclusively available for this suite.) The bathroom is modern and comfortable. Reception and management was very friendly and helpful (best recommendation for car service to airport, etc.) You have many choices for lodging in NYC, and your decision can make or break your city stay. Stay at the Gotham and remove all worry! It's great!

Overall it was a really good experience. The check in went quick and early at 215, service was great, the room was great, beds were comfortable. We went to breakfast the next day and it was ok, the bar was a cool atmosphere and the food was pretty basic i got a bacon, egg, cheese, everything bagel for 17$ but it was good.

We waited close to 2hrs for room service, and upon calling the front desk found our order had never been entered. If we hadn’t called to inquire we never would’ve gotten our dinner. Also, the window and door to the balcony were not shutting and locking properly. So the room was very drafty and cold, I couldn’t get warm all night long and had a terrible nights sleep. The staff were polite and very apologetic for our inconvenience, but their kind words unfortunately did not make up for the poor experience.

Gotham Hotel was a great choice for exploring Manhattan. It's walking distance to Times Square and Broadway but still far away enough that we had a little quiet from the madness. The room was very clean and the staff were courteous. Room service from The Reading Room was excellent; I highly recommend the salmon with polenta. Next door is Milk and Honey, a cute little kosher bagelry with the kindest staff. Would stay here again!

We stayed in a Junior Skyline Suite, the outdoor deck was a real treat! The king bed was very comfortable, and the rain shower head with hand held spray bar in the shower was very enjoyable. A clean room with lots of natural light. Very friendly desk staff as well as great breakfast eateries next door. Convenient to Grand Central and walking distance to Time Square. I would absolutely stay here again!

Room upgrade was great. Perfect balcony overlooking Madison ave. Tv is very far from the bed in the suites making it hard to see. Restaurant on site is very expensive. Alcohol not offered for room service, only the minibar.
