Hampton Inn & Suites St. Charles Old Town Area

Very friendly helpful staff. Great stay. Only complaint is that the pool was out of service.

The front desk staff have been very kind and helpful the entire time I've been here. The hotel appears to only be about 3 years old, and is still in good condition. If your guidance program is older than that, it may only take you to the shopping center at the corner of South 5th St and Ameristar Blvd. You will have to drive about 1,000 feet southeast on Ameristar Blvd to get to the entrance. The entrance drive also only has a sign for Comfort Suites, and is a fairly thin driveway going up a hill with block walls on each side of it.

Did not like the parking lot entrance. One way in one way out. Hard to see until you’re right on the entrance. Staff very accommodating needed to change rooms and staff was extremely helpful.

Clean room, great staff, liked the gym

It was ok but mot great. The pool was small. The breakfast needed gluten and lactose free options but it did have much to choose from, just not for me. The room was very clean.

Wonderful hotel! The lady at the front desk was so friendly and kind. The room was clean and well stocked. The fitness room was absolutely one of the best I have ever seen at any hotel room (and I have stayed at lots of hotels). The breakfast was amazing. Always coffee fresh (only complete are they need bigger coffee cups, but all of the Hampton have the same tiny cups - I will bring my own next time to fill up). Will most definitely stay again. Friendly staff.

Overall clean and comfortable. There is an abandoned building next to hotel. Entrance is also difficult to find - look for small sign and driveway. Breakfast is free with regular options available. A lot of shopping and activities in this area!

The pool was down and they did not want to refund me then they got the pool fixed the day we were leaving and was rushing us after they told us we could stay as long as we wanted to accommodate us for the inconvenience

We would definitely stay here again! The staff are very kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. It's near the freeway, so there's noise from cars, but for some, that helps them sleep. It didn't bother us. The workout room is great! Breakfast was great. We drove the barely 1 mile drive to Historic St Charles. It was a great stay!

Hard to find turn in off of street.

I was very pleased staying here. Staff was very friendly, entire hotel was clean and comfortable, breakfast was solid.

Our beds were comfy and cozy. The room and hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly. Awesome breakfast spread too. Will be staying here again.

Carpeting was filthy! Crumbs, dirt and trash on floor in hallways and elevator.

Overall, the experience wasn’t terrible. Upon check-in and check-out, the desk attendant wasn’t easily able to locate. The floors in the room, including in the bathroom, were visibly dirty. They looked as though they had just been swept and not mopped between stays. The shower had two shampoo bottles and no conditioner. Sound in between floors and rooms travels terribly. Every step that the people in the room above us took was easily heard in our room. The hotel didn’t seem overly crowded but we were placed in the room immediately by the elevator doors, the highest traffic area of the floor. The breakfast options were impressive.

Extremely clean and new hotel. Smells clean and is spotless. Best place I’ve stayed in a while.

Unfortunately, our room was tired looking and the walls were dirty. The bathroom was dirty with me having to dispose of a spider and its web, wipe up hair from the floor and corners, plus the railing in the tub was coming apart. Toilet paper holder basically spun in a circle. The coffee machine wasn't clean either. The staff that greeted us was very polite and the breakfast room staff was very pleasant. We will not stay here again and go to another hotel we have used in St. Charles for future visits.

Bathroom had very obvious mildew in the shower.

Check in was simple. Room is spacious. Blond broken but nothing to see but parking lot, so not a huge deal.

It is modern and the showers are exceptional

The staff was warm, friendly, attentive, and professional - very nice people who were happy at work! Breakfast was very good, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. However, the location near the freeway is something to consider as the noise from the interstate does permeate the room. I had some issues getting to sleep.

My room was clean, but the mattress was worn out & too soft, and the carpet needed cleaning. Internet connection was barely fast enough to do a Teams meeting. Better options in the area

The check in went fine, no real issues. The front desk worker wasn't super friendly but that's not a big deal. The room was clean but had some issues. The noise from the highway was constant and annoying but expected. What wasn't expected was the amount of noise from the room above. We could hear every step they took and it was loud enough that it woke us up. The blackout curtains didn't really blackout anything, so you will probably have a lot of early morning light. The water pressure was terrible, so good luck getting the shampoo and conditioner out of your hair. The hotel is pretty close to downtown St. Charles which is nice. The breakfast, including the super friendly breakfast worker, was definitely a positive for the place.

It was very clean and the staff is great! We arrived ahead of schedule and they were able to accommodate our early check in need. Our room was huge and the shower water pressure was amazing!

We were very disappointed with our check in experience. We arrived around 1:00pm as we were attending a wedding which started at 3:00. We asked if any rooms were available for early check in. There were not, which was completely ok, as we know check in time is 3pm and had planned to get ready in a friend’s room who was already there. We attended the wedding ceremony at 3pm and arrived back to the hotel at 4pm and were told the rooms were still not ready and they could not tell us when they would be ready. We had a little time before the reception started, so we sat in the hotel lobby, anticipating that we’d be able to get checked in shortly. We waited for over an hour, observing others being able to check in and obtain their rooms. When asking we were told they were sorry but our specific rooms were not clean yet. We finally said we needed to get to the reception and any room would do, we just wanted to be able to get settled before our late return that night. We finally got a room around 5:15, our friends got theirs around 5:30 and we were 30 minutes late to the wedding reception. The staff was kind and apologetic but it was unacceptable to have to wait 2 hours after check in time for a room, especially when others were given rooms as soon as they walked in the door. This hotel was very nice, but I will be hesitant to stay again due to the apparent staffing issues which caused our plans to be disrupted.

We were to have a 3pm check-in. We were told it would be 10-30 min. At 4:45 we had to leave to get to event. We were told we would receive a call when room was ready. Never received. We came back at 7:30 and told our room became available but she lost our number.

Our room was great, but it took us 45 minutes to get checked in to get a key to our room. There was only 1 person in front of us and it took them forever to get checked in also.

I had a reservation and it was confirmed. I called ahead of time to check in early and they said my room was ready. I went to check in and they gave away my room and said they were fully booked.

Good Gym. Poor service at the front desk. The first room they put us in smelled of sewer gas. They moved us to a new room. Cold coffee during the day. Then they told us we were there for only one day when our reservation was for two. Eventually they figured it out, but I'll wait to check my Visa before I believe that. The front desk people need to be retrained.

The location is just right for visiting the Historic Downtown St. Charles area or the Ameristar Casino. Both are a walkable distance.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property adjacent to the hotel was run down and shabby and appeared to be a place homeless people gathered. Just a little unnerving when walking to my car at night.

This was the perfect spot to stop on the 1st leg of our journey. It was right off I-70. It was a little funky to get to the entrance was NOT well marked.The property is just over 1 year old. So very nice, clean and bright! New December 2023. Close enough to a charming downtown with unique restaurants so don't just have to go to chain restaurants. Staff very helpful. I did note the roller shades needed attention and staff was very receptive to my alerting that this was an issue.
