They actually ran out of room keys. We had to be let in by the deck clerk. The custodian for breakfast was a bit lazy. He had one speed (slow). 8:20 and no milk. The milk, tea bags, and waffle batter were empty. He did bring out more eggs and waffle batter, but no milk, with a case in the back.

Everything was great except there was no mention of no longer having the hot tub by the pool and that was one of my main reasons for booking here. Another guest said the same thing. Otherwise it was a loveky stay. Friendly staff, clean, roomie,and comfortable beds.

Well, the hotel was fine. The spa was broken, which was the only reason I selected this place. The air conditioning unit couldn't be turned off. I called the front desk to ask how you turn it off and they didn't know. at 0:00 at night, i didn't want to learn. I'm sure that I could have puled the wire out of the wall or something but there should be a button on or off. Didn't sleep well as the thing just kept on humming all night.

I look for 4 things in a hotel.. quiet and clean, free parking, free breakfast and a hot spa. First we were given a room that had a great deal of loud road noise. The young man at the desk kindly moved us to another room that was great. We discovered the hot spa was broken and there was no explanation as to why or when it would be fixed. The breakfast was a disappointment as there was not a great deal to choose from. The waffle machine was “out of order” but we were later told the kitchen staff just put that sign on it because they didn’t want to clean it. The reason being”short staffing”. Our room was never cleaned or towels replaced.. again we were given the reason of “short staffing”. When it came time to checkout we couldn’t find anyone so left a note telling them we left. We usually stay in Marriott properties.. this was our first big disappointment!

The hotel was conveniently located on a street near shopping and some restaurants. It was an easy drive to the national park. Unfortunately, our room got a lot of traffic noise. The jacuzzi was closed and looked like it wasn't cleaned in quite a while.

We love Marriott! This hotel is the best yet! It is like brand new. The pool is crystal clear. The towels are thick and big enough to go around you. Love it

The customer service was great. My room did have a distinct oil smell that I had to mask with an air freshener. The gym also had 2 treadmills and none worked. Overall the room was clean, the areas were all clean, and everything worked in my room.

When we arrived the computer system was down but the young man at the registration desk was handling the situation with grace and professionalism. It took 3 tries to get the right room configuration but we got it all sorted out. That was the only glitch. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the property is located very conveniently for access to Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains National Parks.

The noise from outside traffic made it impossible to sleep. I stayed here to get some sleep - not a good choice. I’ve stayed at many Fairfield Inns and always enjoyed my stay but will NEVER recommend Carlsbad Fairfield in to anyone! Sorry 😢

We booked a suite and as soon as we walked in noticed a fowl odor. Later we found out it was from the air conditioner leaking the water into the room and on to the carpet up to the bed but by that time it was bedtime

Lobby was nice and updated, but rooms and bathrooms and rooms need an update. Shower was warm but not hot. Sofa bed was twin sized a very uncomfortable. Breakfast was subpar for equivalent chains. Won’t be returning.

Upon arriving we asked for a room on the backside of building as hotel is one a very busy noisy highway. Desk clerk but us center front. The noise was so terrible all night I had to wrap my head in a pillow. I would never stay here again.

We broke down in Carlsbad, so this is why we had to spend the night. We had four (4) adults and two (2) children in our party. The kiddos were going to sleep on the pull out couch. ISSUES: 1) There were no pillows available for the pull out couch and the front desk was not helpful at all…I even requested that they get a couple of pillows form an empty room and was told she could not do that. There was no manager on duty, nor able to be reached by phone. We did call corporate. We ended up getting a couple of pillows from another hotel guest that heard our situation and graciously let us use their extras. 2) When we opened the pull out…the mattress was terrible and unable to be slept on, so we had to walk next door and buy an air mattress from Walmart. 3) The floor lamp was very rickety and barely standing up. 4) One of the queen size beds squeaked terrible with any movement. 5) The shampoo & Conditioner containers were broken off the wall and empty. 6) All of the milk out for breakfast was expired.

The hotel staff were all amazing, accommodating our change of plans and providing us with prompt service when our tv remote stopped working. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable.The breakfast area was clean and well stocked with a good variety of foods. The only negative thing is about Carlsbad, not the hotel - there are basically no restaurants in the town except for chain fast food. The inclusion of a microwave and fridge in the hotel room was incredibly helpful as we bought some prepared food from the grocery store and could then make our own meals (sort of :).

Arrived after check in. Guy at the front desk kept leaving saying her was sorry. After about 20 minutes I asked if there was a problem and he said they were short staffed cleaning up rooms. Told him we’d come back after dinner so we didn’t end up with a half assed clean room. Got checked into find hair still stuck to the bathroom wall. The fold out bed that was to be used for one of my sons was terrible. He said it was like sleeping on a chain link fence. Thank God it was only 1 night! We were safe and had a air conditioned room to sleep in so there’s that.

Clean room, quiet, food near by and easy to find. My only complaint is the gal at the front desk with the really really red hair completely cut me off when I was trying to speak to her. Super rude move. The breakfast was really good.

Hot tub has been filled in for quite some time. Never was a manager on staff. We were over charged and couldn’t not be provided with a receipt to show the amount we were charged and no one would help us. The entire staff with exceptionally rude and standoffish

Its an oil town. Lots of workers, busy, hotel was short staffed. Turned me down originally for hotel so i went outside and booked through Expedia. Went back and clerk said she was told to turn away walkins. Thank you Expedia

Great spot to stay if you’re visiting Carlsbad Caverns or Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Close to several restaurants and the continental breakfast was good. Staff were very kind and friendly, plus the hotel was clean. The pullout sofa bed wasn’t extremely comfortable but that was expected. Despite that we had a good stay and would recommend this hotel!
