The elevator was broken when I checked in and out .

It was a very pleasant hotel experience up until the moment that the both elevators were out of order and I had to leave for the airport. I don’t have the body strength tp carry a heavy luggage for 9 floors. The person at the front desk Brady was very mean to me at the phone, not helping at all, not telling me when he can send help. Just saying they have only one person to carry luggages. Even when I came down, he put words in my mouth saying I wanted help immidiately which was a lie. I always asked a ballpark of minutes not to lose the plane. Even at the last minute when I was at the door he was like: “If you’re not early for the airport, that not on us.” Super rude man. Everyone and everything else was great and I loved the hotel till the last hour but I won’t deal with obnoxious front desk people on my vacations and broken elevators in NYC. I made it to plane because I’m an organized person unlike rude Brady.

An okay hotel. Restaurant is good. Staff is nice. Room did not seem as large as advertised. Both elevators broke down.

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It is close to shopping and very walkable as my husband and I walk everywhere. Our check in was fast and they upgraded our room and we could get into our room immediately. Beautiful room with robes, mini bar, microwave. We had a room credit for breakfast at their amazing restaurant. Breakfast was delicious! Valet parking was easy. Gym was nice except only one treadmill. Can’t wait to go back!

Great hotel. But what I had an issue was the parking fee of $85 plus an additional parking fee tax of $15.62 equaling a total of over $100 just for parking and another $57 was for house privileges, nyc occupancy tax, nyc sales tax, and a $100!security deposit. All of this was separate from the bedroom hotel fee online that I purchased through Expedia. So basically I got charged another $197 almost $200 on top of the hotel room. They really should explain this and break it down exactly what to expect when booking and not have all these fees. A parking fee of $100 for one day, a house privilege fee of $57? Why so much? Why isn’t the cost of The room itself covering that portion at least the $57? I paid much more than I though I would for one day and I checked in and was at the hotel for about 14 total from beginning to end, including a $64 breakfast which was ok.

The restaurant we went for breakfast was amazing and the room was really clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking was great since I stayed on a Saturday to Sunday. Did not want to get out the comfortable bed so we ended up asking for a later check out for 2 hours which wasn’t a problem for them but with a fee. Great hotel will definitely be going back.

Elevator was not working during my stay there - and they put me on the 10th floor

Comfortable room. Nice lounge on the second floor with complimentary coffee in the am, wine at Happy hour. Good location. Limited amenities, but a lot to do in NYC. Walking distance from GCS and Radio City. There is $50 resort fee.

Rooms are very large and clean, breakfast was good, free wine hour, good location. Honestly really enjoyed it, just one negative with this hotel are the elevators. There are only 2, 1 of which broke down. Even with 2 you’re waiting a bit in the morning. Had to take the stairs down from the 19th floor once as well. Would still recommend but if they could fix the elevator situation this would be a no brainer recommend.

I walked into the room I was in and as I set down my bag on the desk, a bunch of dust flew up. I took a paper towel to wipe the desk and it was black with dust. The room had a weird smell. With all the extra charges I would expect the room to be nicer but it was not worth the price.

Although the property and room was clean, it is showing some wear. The sofa in our room had a big tear in it and the rug was pretty worn.

Not as pictured. The room was aged and worn. I had a larger room with a sitting area. The bathroom was not clean at all. Hairs on the toilet seat, and I did not want to take my shoes off to walk on the floors, which were so dirty. I was only there 2 nights and not spending much time in the room...Otherwise, I would have left.

Staff was very friendly and the room was very clean.

I really liked the service and the staff. However, the room that we stayed wasn’t as cleaned as I anticipated.

The room had 2 full size beds with very clean and well made linens. There was also an adjacent sitting area with a large tv, couch, coffee bar with mini fridge and an updated bathroom. The front desk staff were very friendly.

Could use a bit of a softer mattress

Well appointed. I loved the suite with its views, space, fridge, and microwave. I appreciate that it is connected to a real restaurant. The Front Desk reception and bellhop was great. Gabriella was so pleasant and provided a high level of service.

Very spacious room. Large Bathroom. Kitchenette area. Quiet Space and convenient area from GCT. Would stay again. Stayed for Business. Did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that aspect of accommodations.

I loved how the floors small and cozy but the rooms were beautiful with a lot of room

Hot water pot to make coffee didn’t work. The coffee was in teabags that didn’t steep very well. The hot water in the shower was hot sometimes, but only lukewarm other times. The elevator did not work, so one evening I had to walk up the stairs to my room and this morning, I had to carry my luggage down five floors to get to my Uber to the airport. The rooms are lovely, but a little dark. The staff and the conditions were great though.

The hotel was fine and located well in midtown. It was much smaller than I thought it would be and our room wasn’t very spacious considering the sq ft. The lobby was very small and checking in took long. Our bed was comfortable. All in all it was fine and we had a great time during our stay. It’s easy to get to 5th avenue and we enjoyed walking over to all the shops and restaurants.

Excellent location Room was a great size, particularly for NYC The lobby is so tiny, and the people who attend the front desk were definitely not what I expect those in the customer service industry to embody (no smiles, no greeting, very little conversing and only at our prompting. If we didn't speak or ask a question, we were not acknowledged) The entry and exit to and from the hotel leave a lot to be desired as there are three separate doors that have to be opened, with the first from the street being super quick to close and the other two were crazy heavy and difficult to open unless you use the "handicap" button that has them auto open, which is a slower process. We visit NYC several times a year, and we stay in different neighborhoods each time, typically in 4 star places, which almost always have a doorman and excellent customer service, but Hotel 48Lex had neither. I believe in our four days there, there was somone at the door only two times of our multiple comings and goings each day. Sadly, the price, location, and 4-star assignment didn't add up to what my family and me are accustomed to experiencing.

Couldn’t have picked a better place in the city. Hotel is very clean, views incredible, and check in/valet were easy thanks to Rachel at the front desk who was so welcoming and helpful!! She’s the BEST!

The room and building itself was nice. What I didn’t like was how the charges weren’t very known, for example my receipt said $100 was to be paid on the property because it was an $100 resort fee. I ended up paying $300 and about another $57 per person fee as well which I didn’t see stated. Along with that the breakfast was not worth it because both people were not able to use the breakfast voucher since it only account for $25. Another thing was despite the money I paid I still was not given any cleaning service. Normally in previous hotels that I’ve stayed in, there are cleaners who come in daily to restock on anything and make the bed or give new towels. I’m not expecting treatment and to be spoiled with anything extra. I was just assuming that would be given because at cheaper hotels I would be given that service. Along with that I had a picture frame left in the room after checkout. I completely understand that I’m at fault for leaving that, but I called to let the receptionist know exactly where it is. I got word that a note was put down and I would be contacted by the house keeping manager later on in the day. I was infact not contacted by anyone and just sent my final bill. I think this hotel just needs to be more upfront about what charges are going to be made beforehand.

Hotel is in a great location near the subway and Grand Central station, and is a close walk to a lot of attractions and restaurants. The elevator was loud near our room so the receptionist moved us to a queen one bedroom which was very quiet and had nice amenities. Free wine from 5-7pm was a plus. Would definitely stay again.

The front desk staff are check in were absolutely friendly and I felt welcomed. I was upgraded to a master suite and the room was remarkable beautiful. The air conditioner was on point and the view from 22 floors up was stunning.

great location/excellent staff

We had an issue with our reservation that I dont know if it was expedia or the hotel, but I reserved a room with Queen bed on a weekend we were moving my daughter to student housing next door to hotel. There was a date mix up with her school after we had made our reservation which caused us to need a room with two beds instead of one. I called the hotel, who told me to call expeda since I booked with them. I called Expedia two weeks before our reservation and asked them if I could upgrade our room to a room with two double beds or a room with a pull out couch and I would be willing to pay the upgrade, Customer service then spoke to the hotel, and they assured me that we would have 2 beds to accomidate 3 adults, instead of one bed to accomidate 2 adults. When I checked in the font desk acted like that conversation never happened, even though expedia did have the conversation recoreded with the hotel. We also did not recieve any of the VIP perks offered on the Expedia listing ($30 in credit for food and bev, they only offered $25 after paying 50 resort fee) They did finally find us a roll away bed, which was not ideal, but worked in a pinch, luckily the room accomidated the bed in the kitchen area. The hotel did leave a bottle of champage and macroons in our room with a nice note for our Anniversary, and that was a nice touch. Overall it was an ok stay, but I was very annoyed with the sitation at check in after making sure two weeks prior we would not have that issue.

Our experience with this hotel was nothing but exceptional. Our flight was cancelled and Mariah at the front desk was absolutely amazing!! She definitely went above and beyond for me and my daughter. Will definitely be back!!

Hotel was lovely. Staff was horrible.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the Prosecco and macaroons waiting for us in the room a perfect surprise! We took advantage of the complimentary wine tasting in the lounge which was very nice. We will definitely be back!

This hotel has been a favorite. The resort fee is high, but location and overall room features are wonderful! The staff are all very helpful! Lots of coffee shops, dining options and laundry nearby. Easy to get to a subway.

The Cognac Brasserie associated with the hotel is a great place to eat, and the rooms were comfortable for a short stay.

Very well located for my US Open trip purpose! Nice clean hotel with friendly staff! I highly consider it again for next year!

Great location. Downside is the construction going around the area at night, but that cannot be helped. Will definitely stay here again.

Everything was great! Very close to a safe parking lot. Had awesome dining and cocktail options at hotel. Extremely close to popular sights (within walking distance)! We were there on a very busy night in NYC so traffic was horrendous, however, we were able to walk everywhere in very little time since everything was truly that close! Amazing location! Very amazing service also. Will definitely be staying here again!

Absolutely loved my stay at 48LEX. The location is unbeatable everything is within walking distance, which makes exploring the city so easy and stress-free. The hotel is right next to a beautifully designed restaurant with incredible food, which is perfect for those nights when you just want to enjoy a great dinner without going far. The cleanliness of the room was truly next level everything felt fresh, tidy, and cared for in a way that goes beyond expectations. One small but deeply appreciated touch: they provide bottled water daily, which is a rare and thoughtful detail nowadays when most places charge for everything. The front desk staff were kind, helpful, and always had a warm smile ready. It’s not a huge hotel, but it definitely offers a cozy, elevated experience. I’ll absolutely be coming back. Highly recommended

Overall wonderful stay! My husband and I go to NYC often and this time decided to switch up neighborhoods and stay at 48Lex. Front desk as wonderful. And it didn't hurt we got a nice upgrade. The room was one of the bigger rooms we've had in the city. Super comfortable and wonderful view. We had a voucher for the breakfast which was delicious. Overall wonderful stay and would definitely stay again.

Grossly misleading. Said breakfast was included in the amenities. But, they said it was per room NOT per person. There was my wife and me. They gave a $25 credit but the total cost of each breakfast was plus tax and 20% gratuity. I feel cheated!!

Excellent service from the second you check in to the last second you check out, Cognac restaurant has a delicious breakfast menu. Loved staying here with my little maltipoo. Such an easy not stress stay. 💜

So. The $50 “resort fee”. On their website it says “each guest is ensured…daily light contemporary breakfast provided in the lobby” - lie. There’s a sit down breakfast in their restaurant that they charge $25 per person for and they only give you a $25 credit per day so if there are two of you one guest is paying for breakfast “Evening wine and cheese” - this was provided however the space isn’t clean. The same toothpicks were on a table in the space for 48 hours I was there. “Shoe shine service” - wasn’t given any info about this “Premium WiFi access” - the premium WiFi you have to pay for. The basic WiFi sucks. Regular internet service from your phone is better. When we tried to ask what this fee actually covers because it seemed like we were being charged for nothing but the “complimentary amenities” I was told about at check in the manager was very nasty and told me to deal with it. Especially being someone who’s from nyc to stay in a hotel for a weekend and be charged for a “resort” that doesn’t have a rooftop or pool seems ridiculous.

They charge for internet access after the first day even though you are paying a resort fee. $25 food credit at attached restaurant is for dine in only so pretty much useless. They used to have in room breakfast but that is now gone

I was promised a credit when checking in and they wouldn’t let us use it for breakfast. Also the restaurant and waitstaff are horrible
