Great location. Frustrating that we booked for the pool and it wasn’t until after we paid our non-refundable deposit that the pool was only open to families until 10am. Bars/pool geared for clubbing crowd instead of hotel guests. Also, stayed in 1008, marketed for 4 people, but pull out was so worn that we all had to cram in 1 king bed. Bikes were great and staff was friendly. Location is excellent.

There was no VIP benefit even though Expedia shows there is one. The most upsetting part was the pool was inaccessible for the hottest day we intended on having a pool day. It should be clear that the pool can be closed even to hotel guests for private events. It was extremely upsetting and ruined the first full day of our trip when we just wanted to relax by a pool.

The front desk staff were very nice when we checked in! I was mostly excited about the pool, but the poolside staff were not as nice, it seemed like they were annoyed everytime we asked for something. You have to pay to enter the pool area for most of the day, and when it was free entry all the chairs had used towels on them so there was nowhere to sit. The pool is small too. The hotel had very nice aesthetics, which was great for picture taking! But the hotel room itself was meh, instead of light switches there were buttons which only worked about half the time. Also the walls were so thin! The bathroom door also had a big hole in it instead of a handle or lock, which was awkward since I was sharing the room with my friends. There was a TV in the room, it was pretty small though. No fridge or microwave or coffee maker.

Property is in a fun, vibrant area. Easy to access everywhere via transit. Pool really isn’t accessible to hotel guests. Paid beach club for over 21’s. GM was helpful when I had issues with opening hours. Could definitely benefit from more front desk staff.

I choose this hotel for the the swining pool. I trabel with my 16 years son and when we want to access de pool they tolds us it was only for 21 years old because they had bar that delivers alcohol so minora can not ve in the swiming pool frim 10:30 to18:00. The day after we webt to the pool by 9:00 AM and they told ne it was closed for a private event. This situation was rpetead a few days aftee. So id tou have kids and want a pool do not go to this hotel.

Good hotel could use a few updates and I find it ridiculous you need to pay to use the pool. As a Canadian it’s 250 to rent one chair at the pool ontop of the 1300 for two nights I’m already paying. Great location love that there are room with balconies and the fact Tao and ph rooftop are so close

Pool and roof are not part of the hotel. They are run by Tao. You have to pay to sit on the chairs there is no section for hotel guests. The club on the roof goes until 4am so you will not have a quiet room. Also when I asked the concierge months in advance about roof top tickets for the fireworks they said all hotel guests have access to the roof. When I got to the hotel the celebration was sold out and we had no access ! This was the worst communication and customer service I have ever experienced. All false advertisement

Room very run down. Rug tore, couch super dirty. Could only use pool before 10 and after 4 because of pool party with another company. We would have to pay to get in during the day. Super loud with bar and events. Couldn’t go to bar unless we waited in a huge line and we were staying at hotel. Manager very professional and offered to help change rooms but the next day in the afternoon and we had reservations for an event.

The property was average. The room small & the balcony tiny with a street view. We booked this hotel because they had a pool. We found out once we got there that the pool chairs had to be reserved on a separate website at $100 a chair. They also would rent them to outside hotel guests. We just thought that was crazy since this was a pricey hotel to begin with. I don’t think we would stay at this hotel again. We did enjoy the pool bar & staff but that was about it. The other staff seemed disconnected to their guests. We expected more courtesy.

Room was heavy with smoke smell and pubic hairs in the bathroom. I went to room for 30 min and took a meeting but the WIFI did not work. I had to take call from my Cell Data instead and could not stand the smoke smell. There was a man yelling loudly in the hallway and I did not feel safe. I was afraid to go into the hallway to exit the room. I was contacting Expedia during this call to let them know I needed to cancel the hotel, it was inhospitable and I could not stay. They said they called the hotel and that it was non-refundable. Non-refundable should only exist if there was a hospitable option. I reported the situation to the front desk and the woman said she noted it, but I did not see her actually doing anything. I had my bags and said I was checking out, I needed to get to a room with WIFI and that felt safe. There was a long line of check ins, and with my bags I let the woman know that I was checking out (I had not been in the room more than 45 min) and that this was a terrible experiance. I asked again for a refund on expedia and the hotel said no. I said I was there for 45 minutes, and I was willing to pay for 1 night and they could return the remaining $600+ for the remaining 2 nights on the reservation and I was staying elsewhere. This was a terrible experiance and first time at this Hyatt property.

The rooms are in need of repair - we had peeling Wallcovering, a worn out couch, torn carpet in the hall. It makes the facility feel dirty even when it’s not. The front desk was so helpful to us & the housekeeping staff was wonderful in helping us find a lost earring

The hotel is in bad shape. Poor condition. Disappointing and not what we expected. The entire facility needs maintenance. The carpet in the hallway was damaged. The furniture in the room was all worn out and the rug was a piece of trash.

Unpon checking in the receptionist was very unpleasant, got to the room it was so small I felt like I was in a matches box. The bathroom had mold everywhere. Wish I had took my money to a much better hotel with the price I payed.

The property has a bar/club onsite which causes for crowds. Hard to get in and out of the hotel at night. The room was fine, although we did notice mold on the shower curtain and a hole in the bedsheets. The hotel is conveniently located and the staff were very friendly, just a very high traffic vibe.

Hotel is very dirty. Very limited hotel staff. No valet , no baggage help. Hairs all through room. Broken light bulbs. Mini bar had complete shelves of food missing. And or not offered. Only drinks with high rates.

The room was okay. I noticed it wasn't thoroughly cleaned. The wallpaper had stains by the window. I feel like a strong solution would have gotten it off. The sofa was extremely worn. It needs replacement. There were some hairbows on the floor. Only one roll of toilet paper. Other than that staff was great super amenable. The room needs a refresh

Room had rubber cleaning gloves on counter upon check in. Only two towels provided and no hand towels or wash cloths. USB ports in all lights don’t work. No robes or any bar soaps in the bathroom. Stains on bedding comforter.

The location was great close to everything, which made getting around very convenient. However, the stay was a bit pricey for what was offered. One downside was the lack of soundproofing; you could hear everything from the neighboring rooms, and the constant door slamming made it hard to rest comfortably.

The location was very convenient to my office and the meatpacking district and is across the street from Chelsea Market. It was a quick walk to the charming streets of the village. The rooms are not warm or comfortable. The lighting system is challenging to use, and the panel is very bright and right next to the bed. The bed and pillows were not comfortable.

Property is really nice it has a pool, rooftop club and a small restaurant. Its location is great one block from the metro and Chelsea Market. There is also several citi bike parking locations nearby. Our only real Issue was the bed was horrible, not comfortable at all and our backs are killing us. HVAC was kinda crappy it was either full cold or heat, if you adjusted one degree up it would go full heat.

There was a strong odor in room. The comfort was average. Location was good. The pool felt like a club scene- really loud with a DJ. The light system mechanism was really strange and confusing. sounds weird but Turning on and off the lights was truly an annoying process. Maybe best for single travelers looking to party. For the price it was not what we were looking for and would not recommend.

Great location however with a hot spot club on the rooftop, it’s super loud (both music/bass pumping & crowds of people on the street) until 3am. Not great for a good sleep. Rooms are small, minimalist features, poorly lit.

The stay started out well enough but when the staff made an error and hadn’t saved our credit card, that we dutifully swiped for incidentals, the harassment started. Without informing us of the problem, we were locked out of our room— had to wait in line to get the key working again, but we were NOT told of the problem, until a late evening call to our room interrupted our evening and they said we needed to swipe the card again, we were prepaid thru the week so thought the next AM is fine, to take care of it— but after an hour much alter in the evening— they sent security to POUND on the door and aggressively escort my partner to the desk— this over a very small bar tab charged to the room. The manager is a nightmare, arguing with me, putting their concerns well above guests, continuing to lock us out of the room— this happened three more times, they deactivated the key for reasons unknown— and I swear she entered our room once when we were in the lobby— weirdly saw her in the lobby and then suddenly she was on our floor, near our room when we got off the elevator one evening. We were harassed. There is skanky customer base doing stripper dances at the pool, a nightclub ont eh a rent that produced a ton of street noise and congestion in the lobby and understaffed causing long wait times at the lobby. This place is ridiculous.

Amazing service that clearly values the comfort of the customer. Many NYC hotels now prioritize speed and 'convenience', therefore losing human connection. However, the experience at Dream Downtown was absolutely phenomenal. All the staff here were extremely personable and helpful for any of my needs. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side if you're staying with more than 2 people, but the location is just so perfect you won't be spending much time in the room anyhow. The Dream Downtown was one of the better hotels I've stayed at in NYC and I will definitely be coming back.

We had a great stay at the Dream Downtown. Whatever was not perfect (like our room wasn’t ready even if we were there 1h30 after check in time), the staff made up for it with efficiency, kindness and professionalism. The housekeeping staff was quick and efficient and the overall service was impeccable. Will definitely come back to Dream Downtown. Also, the location is perfect!

Lost mine and what seemed like everyone's reservations. I'm not sure if they know we even stayed there lol. Downgraded our room. Cold showers on the last day, no hot water. Ran out of basic food and drink on day one and didn't replenish. Frustrated and disgruntled staff that never smiles. I stay at a lot of hotels from very basic to pretty good. This was the most bizarre and dissatisfying experience I ever had at any hotel... ever. It became a local joke with all guests, including my employees as we passed the front desk and watched people shaking their heads. Also witnessed them tell a lady to "wait her turn" while she said her child was having a medical emergency and need to get her her medicine. Unreal. Don't stay here. Plus, on the weekends, the music goes LOUD until 4am. Trust me on this.

Had reservations set for Friday. When I arrived, seems the hotel double booked and no rooms were available at the moment. They offered to upgrade me but it just seems like it was the same room lol. The key card maker was also down. It was a bit annoying. Thought the staff was very professional and accommodating, I just hope that issue doesn’t arise in the future. It did make checking in a little frustrating.

I don’t even know where to begin… the experience at this hotel was so disappointing. Our room was downgraded upon check-in and the staff were so unmotivated to provide a positive experience. We booked a room for our family of four and were given a room that fit two. We had to beg for roll-away beds for our two kids and were repeatedly told that someone was bringing them to us, yet hours went by with nothing. I resorted to begging for sheets so that I could turn a couch into a makeshift bed.. and the whole time, the staff could not have cared any less. Hyatt should be disappointed in how this hotel is being run.

Check in process was a disaster! Paid for a premium room and all of those upgraded rooms are on the floor below the club. Ended up charging the incorrect credit card for the balance due. Front staff seemed incompetent on basic check in process. Usually stay at the standard and will continue to do so. Never again!!

This hotel is in a prime location close to west village, Chelsea market, pier 57 and walking distance into Chelsea. Close to public transport. Arriving late at night on Weekend was very rowdy/inconvenient due to the intoxicated crowds for the night club. It is not a quiet hotel - most guests here to party in NYC. Definitely get rooms located on lower floors to reduce the base from the nightclub on the roof. Staff were nice & helpful. Had to walk through clouds of marijuana smoking outside and by the entrance. The hotel really should have a separate entrance for guests vs the club. It seems like they prioritize the club on the club nights which inconveniences the guests. If you know what you are getting into and you are young and don’t mind this crowd, it’s really a great amazing location with decent sized, clean & cool looking rooms & bathrooms. If you are looking for quiet spot, that’s more family friendly, definitely look elsewhere.

Really enjoyed my stay. The roof pool was awesome and the entire staff was extremely helpful and positive. The location was perfect for me getting to my work event at Chelsea Piers. Parking right across the street was very convenient as well. Highly recommended.

The hotel is closed to the venue for the event that I was attending. So it was a convenient and affordable option. I had some trouble closing the curtains, locating bottled water, and with noises next door and required assistance from the front desk. They handled all the problems very well. I didn't have any problem with the nightclub noises from my room. The room is a good size for a Manhattan hotel and has a great view of the Empire State Building. Overall, a good experience.

Nice room: comfy bed, not cramped like most New York hotels. Great shower. Could amp up fun details like drinking water in the room, 2 robes instead of one, microwave — especially given the extra fees. Coffee shop attached has nice folks but the offerings are second rate (though just as expensive) to the class of the hotel and tangential. restaurant. Definitely recommend going elsewhere for coffee or breakfast.

After resolving a reservation error, I had a wonderful two-night stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again. I was especially impressed with the bar on the lobby floor—it was exceptional, and the bartender was outstanding (unfortunately, I forgot his name).

Great location with amazing views from the nightclub. Staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable, larger than most you find in the city. There’s also a coffee cafe in the lobby. We enjoyed going up to the club to experience some city nightlife and music!

Rooms were very clean, all staff were very pleasant and happy to help. Great location. No coffee or tea in rooms. Little to no counter space in washroom and poor lighting for getting ready. $55USD per night fee (for I’m not sure what). This may have been in the booking but I didn’t see it noted. It may have said property may have resort fees. Rooms are nice, beds are comfy.
