The Portobello Hotel

It was very cosy and comfortable. Beautifully decorated and the wall murals were special. Liked the honesty bar concept. Friendly and helpful staff. I’ll look forward to another visit.

Quaint and charming don’t quite fully describe this little gem of a hotel. Authentically homey, well appointed, and perfectly located. Nicest staff, great breakfast and a lovely living room. Our room was spacious for any city - felt luxuriously ample for London/Europe. It was a bit loud - we could hear upstairs neighbors walking around - nothing a sound app couldn’t muffle.

We had a lovely tea upon arrival in their sitting room. Our room has all we needed for comfort, including bathrobes, a small frig and coffee bar. Great location to public transportation and local shopping.

Quirky property ideal for walking to Portobello Market, Michelin 3☆ Core restaurant and Notting Hill. Delightful staff, who really made you feel special and went out of their way to help. Very comfortable bed, excellent shower, lovely bath products. Didnt have breakfast or a drink so did not take advantage of VIP benefits. No TV but didn't want one!

Absolutely fantastic stay at the portobello hotel. Room was quiet and comfortable with lots of space. Bed was really comfortable. Shower pressure was perfect. Towels & bathrobes soft and clean. A perfect stay.

The staff is very welcoming and so lovely. The hotel is warm, comfy, and very well cared for. The location is perfect, close to shops, food and beautiful parks. I can’t wait to return!

The room was small and the bathroom smaller. Soft bed with quality linens and pillows. Very well appointed and very clean. We would stay here again.

Lovely hotel. Very quiet, safe and room was spacious. Staff was kind and helpful. Continental breakfast was great and bed was super comfortable. We were on the ground floor and loved our beautifully decorated room that had a large bathroom with antique bathtub. Beautiful garden views outside our window. Place was exactly as pictured and described. Furthermore - the neighborhood is wonderful to explore and walk. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Moths in the room. Moth eaten carpet. Dirty room. Didn’t refresh the amenities in the room. Mediocre breakfast. Tasteless coffee. Would not return. Very disappointed.

Overall, this is the hotel for you if you want to live in cute quaint house in Notting Hill, and not in a soulless high rise hotel. The aesthetics are definitely the draw card here. If this isn't your main concern, then there are other better options. See my list of pros and cons: Pros: *The room is very cute. Feels like living in a period drama. High ceilings with big windows for views and lots of natural lighting. *Service was good and proactive. *The street the hotel is on is like a cul de sac. It is very cute. The hotel makes you feel like you actually live in London rather than simply in a hotel. The street felt safe and quiet. * Large closest for putting away clothes. * The bed was really large. Cons * Location was okay but not as convenient as other places I've stayed at. Notting Hill station is a 10 min walk from the hotel and supermarket and pharmacy is also about a 10 minute walk. *Shower was way too small, even as a petite female. I had to dry myself in the bedroom as no space. * The property is old and so you would often hear doors closing and people talking through the walls, which would disturb sleep * Although there is someone manning the desk near the front door at all times, there is no pin or lock or security to open the front door and so strangers could just enter the hotel. No security in the hotel as far as I am aware other than the concierge person *The bed mattress was too soft and my entire body sank into the bed, which caused some muscle aches.

Our room at The Portobello Hotel was huge and richly decorated...we loved spending time in it ,which is unusual for hotel rooms. Breakfast was delightful. Staff was very accommodating including keeping our bag as we went off to Egypt. Hotel is walking distance to Portobello market and lots of great restaurants and Holland Park!

The property is in a great location and still quiet at night. The bed was extremely comfortable but the room a little cramped and the bathroom very small.

This was a quirky nice hotel in a beautiful area of London. The garden facing room we stayed in for 9 nights was perfect. There was plenty of room for our belongings. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We had an enormous bathroom with a separate shower and separate tub . The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Evelyn. We will definitely return on our next trip to London

Lovely hotel, great staff and location. However the room was boiling when we arrived, the coffee machine wasn’t working properly, the lamps around the room weren’t working (aside from the bedside ones) and the bed was so small we were pretty uncomfortable all night. No top sheet so had to sleep with a comfortable but far too hot duvet, even with the window open and the aircon on cool! Aircon wouldn’t go below 19°. Bath was gorgeous and the shower pressure great, decor lovely - just a pretty uncomfortable nights sleep!

Great service and perfect location. We had a ground floor room - it was much smaller than any of the photos I’d seen and the bathroom was so tiny there wasn’t even space to get changed in there. Paid £269 for one night and expected a bit more from the photos on the website. Continental breakfast was good value for two people.

But after we actually checked in everything was smooth.

We were upgraded to a gorgeous room for free! Amazing room, amenities, hotel, and especially the staff. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone going to London!

Most of the staff were very kind and accommodating. Especially housekeeping and those who are serving breakfast. Breakfast itself was very good. Bed and pillow were very comfortable. It would’ve been nice to have some acknowledgment of our Anniversary which we have noted on the reservation.

Lovely place to stay. Great ambience, comfortable bed, quiet location. The staff were all amazing. For our 5 day stay, I had a relaxing breakfast downstairs, and then requested my wife's breakfast in our room. On the 4th day of our stay, I forgot to order her breakfast before I returned to our room. Shortly after I got there, the phone rang. It was reception asking if my wife would like her breakfast sent up. It doesn't get better than that!

Being two blocks away from the busyness of Portobello Rd is perfect - the second you’re on the street where the hotel is, you’re surrounded by quiet and a peaceful, safe neighborhood. Tons of great restaurants, shopping and all transit is literally down the street, but you can’t hear a thing. Gorgeous neighborhood and the hotel itself is so comfy and beautiful.

This is a lovely, quiet, friendly, and small hotel. It's about a 10 minute walk from Notting Hill tube on a quiet street. It's also close to Portobello Market.

Absolutely love the portobello hotel have stayed before and brought my mam for her 70th. The room was amazing, love the new decor and the bed is simply the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in and the pillows! Gorgeous feel in a beautiful place in Notting hill almost feels like a little secret and just round the corner from portobello market. My favourite hotel in London! Breakfast was nice the only thing I’d say is I think the choice of having a hot breakfast should be included in the price.
