Iris Hotel Llandudno

Just one disadvantage is the access for disabled people i am disabled as is my wife a ramp to the main entrance would help this just isn't for the iris hotel but a lot of other hotels in llandudno overall we had a wonderful stay and will be recommending the iris to my family and friends. The staff were polite and helpful very good

The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was ok, we managed to get a parking space outside the hotel, make sure you have cash if you have a drink in the bar

Lift not functioning and water getting logged in the sink. But no fix for anything. Had to carry stuff to 3rd floor.

There’s no proper WiFi, breakfast and very poor amenities

It was ideal for my wife as she is disabled and we were in the annex so it was easy for her to exit the property,

The room itself was clean, the gentleman on reception was friendly enough. The TV didn’t work, perhaps because it was still plugged to an aerial? The side light button was broken and also not working. The plug socket also didn’t work. It would have been nice to have WiFi (only available in the lounge) in the room, due to the TV not working and hardly any phone signal. Obviously phone signal isn’t the hotels fault, but you notice more when internet is poor too. It’s a tired looking hotel. Perhaps ok if you only want a warm bed and breakfast

No Wi-Fi outside of the lounge/reception area was a big letdown, but overall our experience was great.

Large room with sea view. Life to all floors. Clean hotel and friendly staff.

Parking can be a problem. My room was small but adequate for the price.

Standard room nice comfy bed, very clean, friendly staff may be a little dated but enjoyed our stay. Perfect location on the sea front.

I don't know how it got such a good score. It was dirty and not well maintained so we checked out a day early

No butter for toast, I asked for some , waiter walked past me to empty top table and collected dirty pots not wearing gloves and apron them took them to kitchen reappeared seconds later with milk jug with some tasteless spread in it.table clothes grubby. Fruit juice not chilled. Have to lean over juices and milk to reach cereals.steps down to breakfast room very dirty, whole place could do with a proper clean. Staff pleasant courteous and helpful. Awful, bed springs were gone, crack in window glass, extractor fan in bathroom not working , sink in bathroom blocked and whole room a bit tatty and unclean. The breakfast was awful , just eggs on your choice on one piece of toast !!!! cheapest bread and condiments on earth, the yogurt pots from the Asda value range, we didn’t bother with breakfast after day 1

We had a room in the basement or annex as they call it. It had an extremely high step from the hallway to the bedroom which you had use every time you went to the bathroom. Also the room smelled musty and damp it rained overnight and in the morning the carpet under the window was soaking wet. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Cheap option, okay if you want a layover for a single night but be aware rooms dusty and smelly and our family room shower had large moldy patches, not suitable for much longer stays. Check in staff friendly but a rude manager made me feel really awkward and embarrassed when we left early after raising a cleanliness issue.

Clean property and very friendly staff and helpful.

Filthy. Wet carpets. Filthy bathroom. Noisy. Do not be fooled by the photos. Rotten skirting boards.

Great location. Friendly staff. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was the highlight of the stay. Bathroom is a disaster. Shower door broken, not enough room to sit on the toilet. Window latch broken but I did manage to open it. Free WiFi only available in reception.

Needs a bit of TLC could not turn shower off it dripped all the. time.

The hotel was good for the price, very comfy beds and a free breakfast. The only thing that was lacking was sound proofing, the guests next door did not stop coughing and talking so I didn't get much sleep. They were also quite rude, complaining about the FREE breakfast. So a nice hotel tainted by some rude guests.

My stay overall was good. The only problem was the single rooms are very small. It said there was no wifi in the bedrooms. But I did have wifi and I was on the third floor.

Bedrooms need updating, wallpaper coming off walls , mattresses need replacing Breakfast ok helpful staff, would stay here again

Room was sound. Great view across the water. Extractor fan in the bathroom sounded like a chinook was landing but no bother really. Drainage to the shower drain wasn't great but didn't quite overflow. Overall, very pleasant!

I like the location of the property, my room was good. The breakfast was very enjoyable. Everything about the hotel was good expect No Wi-Fi in the bedrooms which was a huge disappointment. Other than that I would book again.

The hotel is on the seafront at LLandudno, with a 2 minute walk to the shopping area, and a 5 minute walk to the pier and other amenities. the listing for the Extension room said it was small, and it was, but it had all the facilities needed. My only complaint is that the Television control was did not have a Subtitle button, and I am partially hearing, so could not enjoy watchinng the programmes during my stay. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was satisfactory, with a choice of cereals, fruit juice, an egg on toast dish (poached, scrambled, or boiled), a toast maker with butter and jams.

Very nice breakfast. Lovely owners from Romania. Such nice people. Super polite and extremely professional. Even the nite clerk opened the bar for me so i could have a drink when it had closed 15 min before i got there. We had been in the UK for 4 and 1/2 weeks and this was one of the last days before we dropped the rental of and went back to London before our flight back to Canada. It just made the perfect ending. We almost didn't go. I'm so glad we did. Totally worth it, could've stayed longer. The Iris is a bargin for the price, increadible views from a Victorian hotel. All original, but with a lift. You won't be disappointed with this hotel. Also includes a free continental breakfast where you order your eggs how you prefer them cooked.

We booked 4 rooms through Hotels.com and paid all the charges in full . On the day of arrival we checked-in and we have been told to pay 25 GBP per room (100 GBP) total for late check-in ! We were really surprised as this is the first ever time we heard something known as late check-in punishment fees provided we have travelled a lot and never been extorted so harshly for this kind of penalty fees - the person on the reception had very poor customer skills and told us to leave the hotel at 11 pm as a group of 4 children and 5 adults or pay the fine. After much haggling he agreed for us to check-in by paying 50 GBP and get a refund from the manager who will be here at the desk in morning. During checking-out next morning we cannot find the manager for our refund and nobody was helping us and when we increased the pressure on the staff to call the manager or the owner of the hotel - they keep changing their story and finally they get exhausted and called the police on us ! Extremely terrible experience - 2 vans of 6 police personal trying to resolve our refund of 50 GBP. Finally we were advised by the police to leave the premises and contact Hotels.com. During the process we find out that the hotel is owned by some Pakistani or Indian national possibly a corrupt politician or business person who must be hiding his ill-gotten money here in UK and running this Iris Hotel of Thugs in his country style ! Poor staff at reception were from Pakistani ,Indian , Eastern European.

I booked this hotel for a spontaneous night away with my partner, the location was fantastic and the view was amazing overlooking the seafront and pier. We arrived a couple of minutes after 8 when check in closed due to traffic but both staff were so lovely and understanding and although we had very few interactions with them they were always polite, friendly and engaging. Our room was lovely, a sea view room, beds are comfy enough and has the facilities you need. I can’t comment on breakfast as we did have it. I would definitely book to stay here again.

Found kettle in a wardrobe that sliding doors don’t slide. Got trapped in shower, with nightmare setting temperature. Locked out of main building so had to walk around to front door. Hairdryer stopped working after 30 seconds. At every turn I found the staff unhelpful & unfriendly

We didn’t get off to a good start, check in was 3p m . We were asked to wait 10-15 mins as room wasn’t ready, then another 10/15 mins then another. 3-45 we were told our room was ready, would have preferred them to say 45/60 mins as grandsons were fed up and restless. However food was good staff were friendly .

Ideal location. Hotel is situated on the prom not far from the theatre. It was a bank holiday weekend and this was one of the few hotels not to heavily inflate their price. We had a room on the top, 4th floor, so the views were excellent. Ensuite shower room was compact, but certainly more than adequate. Facilities for tea and coffee were provided with more than sufficient sachets for our entire stay, unlike many chains where you might manage a couple of drinks. Like many seafront hotels in Llandudno, it was characterful. My only adverse observation was that with the room in the eves of the roof, the curtains were fitted to the sloped ceiling and hung down approx 18 inches away from the window. No problem 4 floors up for privacy, but when the sun began to rise at about 4.30am, if you were on that side of the bed, you soon wake up. Blinds or a pair of curtains should have been fitted adjacent to the window. (Might slightly impair an easy clear view, but at 5.00am, sleep is the priority. Friendly staff, check in easy.

Situated close to the town & sea front , shops & attractions just a short stroll away, bus & local train station just a short walk , hotel staff were helpful, room clean, food was good Overall stay was very good

Great seafront position

Excellent value for money. Great room, superb shower. Very comfortable bed. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was included and it was really good. Bar could have been open longer, but overall superb.

No internet in the rooms was a problem for the children, poor choice of breakfast

A lovely hotel that met all our requirements and so close to the beach. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Lots of choice for continental breakfast. Thanks for a lovely stay

Clean comfortable pleasant and welcoming staff. Great Breakfast internet is the only thing thing not being available in rooms

Not recommended we stayed here a few years ago and it was good must have a change of ownership Poor cleanliness breakfast was a choice of eggs eggs or eggs no cooked breakfast Cereal was available Cheap yogurt and sauces and very poor orange juice Great location is the plus point
