Guest reviews of Paradisus by Meliá Playa del Carmen - Riviera Maya - All Inclusive

What guests think

AI-generated summary based on recent guest reviews

At Paradisus Playa del Carmen - Riviera Maya, travellers praise the friendly staff, kid-focused pools and water park, and generally spacious rooms, while opinions diverge on food quality, reservation logistics, and the beach due to seasonal seaweed. Most describe the property as clean and strongly family-oriented, though a few report dated areas, occasional maintenance hiccups, or musty rooms. Common frustrations include membership sales pressure, hard-to-find loungers, and wildlife like coatis or raccoons around outdoor dining. Expect a lively, kid-friendly resort with standout service and pools, but plan ahead and check beach conditions.

Excellent resort for the family! Everything was kept so nice and the food and restaurants were fantastic. We especially loved the Hibachi and Mediterranean dinners. The coffee, smoothie and ice cream areas were visited frequently by our children. The concierge (Emmanuel) associated with our room was so helpful. We would definitely return to this resort when are back in Playa.

Stayed 5 nights

We stayed here for a family reunion in July of 2026. The facilities are beautiful, the rooms are beautiful, and the staff (at least in the Family Concierge section) were really wonderful. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars, though, is because of the food. Some of the restaurants are great and the buffet was very good. But we ordered steaks (and paid a bunch of extra money) a couple of times and they were terrible. Not properly cooked, fat not rendered, and inedible. I understand it's All-Inclusive in Mexico, so we were not expecting it to be top-level steaks by any means. But if they're going to charge Vegas Strip prices for a steak, it should at least be edible. However, I would not let that dissuade anyone from staying here. The property is beautiful, the drinks were great, and most of the food was very good for an all-inclusive. I would highly recommend getting the Family Concierge service because the restaurants allegedly require reservations. You can text your concierge even before you arrive and she will set up all your dinners for you no problem. The only other negative was that the website is inaccurate - there is no room with pool tables and foosball. There is one broken pool/billiards table in the lobby bar and the foosball table is in the kids zone only, where no adults can go. My son and I were disappointed with that aspect, since we enjoy playing those games on vacation. But otherwise it was a very nice all-inclusive with great service.

The experience at the hotel was wonderful. From the very beginning, we received exceptional service, with special mention to Carlos de La Cruz and José Luiz Ortiz, who provided all the support and assistance needed to make our stay even more special. The gastronomic experiences were excellent, both for the facility of booking our favorite restaurants and for the quality of what was offered to us. The hotel is ideal for families with children. My kids loved the water park and we spent a lot of time there. The private areas dedicated to the "Family Concierge" are excellent, and the conveniences such as having breakfast at the exclusive Lounge restaurant made a big difference for us in terms of quality and comfort. I highly recommend the resort. The accommodation surprised us positively, and we will definitely return as soon as possible.

The staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the area where we stayed was very family-friendly. The only downside was that it happened to be seaweed season, so the ocean wasn't the prettiest sight. Overall, our family would definitely stay here again.
