Hotel Flores - Adults Only

Hotel Flores is an undiscovered gem. Hotel manager Walter is always helpful and when we arrived he gave us a quick run through of the property and our room. The second we showed up we saw a massive iguana right in front of the property and later on there were howler monkeys in the trees above us. A surreal experience, the pool was amazing and almost always empty. The coffee shop on the property is also very popular and for good reason. Just a short walk away from downtown Tamarindo, this property was amazing and if we ever visit Tamarindo again we will definitely be staying here again.

Room was clean and comfortable. Pool was fresh and relaxing. Location is in town but it’s still quiet. Walter was so nice and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Quiet location with secluded pool but a close walk to beach and restaurants.

The property was amazing!! Very secluded, but right in the middle of everything. Amazing coffee shop onsite. Wifi, pool. And Walter was amazing, cleaned the room whenever we asked & did an amazing job & was very friendly.

This property could be nice but needs major upgrading. The location is great, close to everything. Not too loud at night. Some of the best sleeps on our whole trip. And not down any creepy gravel roads. But the rooms need attention. The floors are a gross beige colour and it always feels dirty in there. I walked around with socks on and they were black after. The mini fridge is ancient. When I put cans in it paint all peeled out of it. The pool area could be beautiful but needs trimmed up and could use nicer furniture and better areas for walking. More frequent cleaning of the pool as there is constantly leaves in it. I enjoyed the little outdoor patio spot we had. I spent most time there because I didn’t want to be in the dirty room. The shower pressure is awful as well. I needed to take like a 30 minute shower to feel clean. Put some money into this property and it could be back. I wouldn’t recommend until it’s updated.

Very convenient to restaurants and stores. Pool was lovely and the surrounding shrubbery well taken care of. Room was adequate but needs some updating. Bed was comfortable. When I booked the room I was informed that breakfast was included but that wasn't the case. We had to pay but it was delicious anyway.

This was our second time staying at this location. We love it there. 100% recommend staying there, Walter manages the property, and is always, smiling, and super helpful. The Hotel is walking distance to everything, super safe, and away from the noise at night time. If you’re looking for a quieter spot. They opened a cool little Pizza spot, right beside the hotel, the guys there are really great. The pool is amazing as well.

The pool was beautiful and refreshing, The Flores is so centrally located to all the bars and restaurants in Tamarindo we walked everywhere we wanted to go. We enjoyed Chippie the hotel cats company as well.

I was concerned when I first realized that the hotel is located on a bustling street in Tamarindo. But when I got into my room that concern went away. The buildings are set back from the road quite a way, and have air conditioning. I am noise sensitive and was not bothered at all. Staff was friendly, the room was clean, the shower had hot water, the wifi and A/C worked perfectly. I did not use the pool, but the pool and its area looked clean and pleasant. Bonus- great coffee and pastries at the shop "next door" which is virtually on-site.

For the price in Tamarindo, Casa Flores was okay. The folks that run it are very nice but the rooms are pretty outdated and a bit run down. Don't be surprised to have a cockroach, centipede, or two in your room. The location of the hotel is great; easy walking distance to restaurants and the beach but far enough from nightlife to be nice a quiet.

I’ve stayed here at least three times and the service is amazing and the rooms are good, and very clean, you can walk to the beach in 5 to 7 minutes and to shopping in about the same amount of time.

The property was close to the beach, Thursday night market and the downtown area. We did not have to drive anywhere. The room we had was filthy and the sheets were stained. They came to clean it again, somewhat better. The person cleaning was so kind but I don't think he was trained well about how to clean. He did his best with the supplies he had.

Das Hotel ist perfekt gelegen, mitten im Zentrum und trotzdem ruhig. Das Zimmer ist sauber und es hat alles was man braucht. Der Angestellte war super hilfreich und hat uns vieles organisiert.

Clean room,great staff,beautiful grounds

Our check-in was quick and efficient. We were initially disappointed that our unit wasn’t as clean as we had expected. The floor was full of grit and the placemats had food stuck on them. We cleaned the dishes, wiped out the microwave and fridge which made us feel better. We also asked Walter to wash the floor which he did immediately. From them on we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pool and grounds are nice and the location is great- a short walk to the beach but away from the busyness of the Main Street. Walter cleaned our room early each morning while we were out for our walk. He was always friendly, very efficient and was quick to respond to any requests. We enjoyed the bananas he gave us that we’re cut from a tree on the property. We would happily stay here again. It would be nice to have a few more dishes in the unit but we managed with what was there.

Great location...walking distance to everything. Property was older and dated but comfortable. For a lower priced option in Tamarindo it was a good value.

Walter the host was warm, and very nice. Hotel room had a small kitchen, and is conveniently located. Easy to get in and out of tamarindo. I would highly recommend it to people who are used to Costa Rica accommodations. Saw some monkeys from our hotel room, and a few very cute cats.

The property was clean and organised. Very spacious room with a kitchen. Walter was very friendly and kind when received us and always there if we needed anything. The property was very well located, next to a big grocery store, walking distance to restaurants, bars, city centre and beach. Recommend to dtay there for sure.

Es war toll, Walter ist ein herzensguter Mann und hat für Ordnung und Sauberkeit gesorgt. Der Pool war angenehm kühl, es ist sehr zentral gelegen und daher etwas laut, wir hatten aber auch das Zimmer an der Strasse und da es Wochenende war, wurde halt gefeiert. In der Küche haben wir Pasta gekocht, leider darf man nur Bratpfannen benutzen aber es hat geklappt! :) Wir würden jederzeit wieder im Hotel Flores einchecken.

Are there more fancy--and expensive--places to stay in Tamarindo? Of course. But what we found at the Hotel Flores was a homier and more personal touch. The rooms could probably do with an upgrade or two, but we did not miss them in the least. And the room and bathroom were both clean and the a/c worked well providing a cool escape during the day and a comfortable sleep at night. For us, the room is a place to sleep while the destination is the place to explore. And having said that, we actually spent a bit more time at this hotel than we usually do. We especially loved the courtyard pool, an intimate and lovely oasis. The hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance of the heart of Tamarindo but just far enough down a dusty road to enjoy the quiet. There are a couple of supermarkets, bank ATM, coffee shop, restaurants, bars, shops, etc. just down the road on the way to the beach. Adding to the feel of a Costa Rican homestay was the manager, Walter. Always friendly, helpful and sporting a big smile, he greeted us at the ornate gates [another great touch] upon arrival. And as soon as we made the reservation, communication with the hotel was excellent. As an added bonus, on several afternoons a tribe of howler monkeys would come into the trees next door to feed and play and iguanas would sun themselves on the reception building roof. Great location. Great value. Great experience. When we return to Tamarindo, we will stay at the Hotel Flores!

We booked for 8 days and had a wonderful time. Our room was clean and basic. We LOVED the location, the quant atmosphere and Walter who runs the hotel is always keen to help with anything! I loved the monkey’s hanging out on the roof and the wildlife around. Everything was walking distance. Would definitely come again!

Felt welcomed and safe. This hotel is small, like an Airbnb but there was always staff around. Great location, walking distance to the beach, 3 supermarkets and the local shops.

We have stayed at Hotel Flores years ago. While the property is in a good location the ants were a little annoying. They used to serve breakfast which was great, they no longer offer this service. The price is good, but you get what you pay for as the saying goes.

Very nice comfortable & cozy place to stay. Close to many things, beach, shopping, food and more. Very nice breakfast/ lunch place on property. Great value for the price.
