I enjoyed my stay at The Box Hotel. The team was nice and responsive. I will say there were a few maintenance issues; the toilet would not flush( but the team was very helpful in correcting the issue), the gym did not have sanitary whips or towels for the equipment, the ice machine on my floor was broken, there was no ice bucket in my room. But those few points aside I loved the esthetic and the rooms were nice and large. I look forward to going back and staying at the box hotel.

Location was great for us - our son and his fiancee live in Long Island City and it was a lovely 20 min walk to their place - Box House is right by the bridge with easy stair access. It was also not a long walk to Williamsburg. Service was great. Room was spacious. All in all great. The only issue is that there are just 2 elevators and if there’s a large event on the rooftop it can get a bit jammed. But the hotel staff can help manage through that if it happens.

The Box House was easily accessible by car with free street parking. Staff were welcoming and polite. The decor was spectacular, the room clean and comfortably furnished, with eco-friendly toiletries. The in-house restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced. Good location in Greenpoint with many nice restaurants and groceries within walking distance

The room was a suite with a kitchenette, which was a pleasant surprise. There is no convenient parking, but that isn't a large problem, however loading and unloading is a bit of a challenge, especially if a delivery is in progress.

Wonderful funky space very nicely refurbished into comfortable, functional rooms that still have style and pizzazz. Nice bar with good, if somewhat limited, food. The only caveat would be it's a bit of a walk -- about 10-15 minutes, to the subway, so if walking is hard for you, this might not be your place.

Loved this place. Lovely aesthetic, bright, artsy, open and full of light. We stayed in a family suite...loft apartment, adorably appointed...lots of space, kitchen amenities, tub to soak in after the day out. The bar menu is basic and overpriced, but not unreasonably so, compared to everywhere, currently. We rented a car, and there was ample street parking, and easy access to expressways into the city. Greenpoint has a lot of charm, and I would spend more time, next trip, walking the main streets. Hotel is close to many eateries and conveniences. I would absolutely stay here again.

Location is excellent. Hotel is older and rooms are eclectically decorated. Bed was comfortable but linen had a hole in it. I don’t recommend staying on the fourth floor. If there is an event above - it is very loud and they broke down the tables and chairs well past 1 am. Front desk staff was told but offered on an apology. Would stay again for location but not on the 4 th floor.

We really enjoyed our stay. There was a great coffee shop only a couple blocks away. The staff was very friendly. The only complaint was room service forgot to give us new towels when cleaning our room. A simple call to the front desk took care of that small issue.

Hotel was clean and quiet. The bed and linens were comfortable. Bathroom was nicely done with marble. Extra shelving was a nice touch for toiletries. Room was equipped with a nice size minifridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, as well as a wine bottle opener.

Beautiful hotel but for the amount you’re paying a night here I’d expect an exceptionally clean suite. I stood in the duplex suite and our toilet had pee stains and was not clean! Dust on the floor under beds clearly floor has not been swept or moped properly!

The property had a great look. The staff was great, very helpful with knowledgeable recommendations. There was a little uncleanliness. The first room we were given had a used cup of coffee in it and sheets that didn't look changed. We were quickly given another room, which is an example of great customer service, and staff. The second room however, had a shower that wasn't completely cleaned because it had globs of shampoo, or body wash on the soap holder part of the shower. At that point, we didn't even bother to bring it to anyone's attention.

I had high hopes for this stay. Unfortunately, the check in was met with unhelpful staff. The room was dirty and there were peanuts everywhere on the kitchen floor. The room smelled musty and had a few bugs. I would recommend cleaning the vents in bathroom/ floor and rooms. I had to buy soap for kitchen at local store because there wasn’t any. The pictures in the frames fell out of frame position so we saw tape in frame. Just needs a lot of TLC and for the price not worth it. I spoke to front desk staff about the issue and they were super rude and disrespectful. We left one night early. Please look at reviews for staff’s unwillingness to help and rude attitude before booking.

The room was in great condition and spacious, and staff was courteous. If I return for another stay, I will request a room on a higher floor and/or further away from the lobby. My room was not far from the lobby area from which there was a lot of noise until 1AM. And my first floor location had light streaming in from outside with no option to cover. These experiences impacted the quality of my time in my room, including sleep.

The room was very comfortable and cozy, the bathroom spacious and the decor was very sweet. The only thing was anything happening in the hallway was very audible (like clearly) in the room. It was ok because we were already awake but for a quiet hotel it seemed strange there were not more things in place to make the hallway to bed quieter. Otherwise the rooms were quiet during main quiet hours and very comfortable ! It was also walking distance to delicious restaurants and the lobby was very unique and special.

Stayed in a terrace suite. Had everything we needed for dining in and tons of space. The terrace was large and relatively private. Our only complaints were the couch being too low and the bed being too firm, but both were still totally doable. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

We were visiting from Indy and chose this hotel to be near our son's apartment. We were very happy with our stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated. There was good coffee in the room. Rooms were cleaned and resupplied daily. The shower was great. And we had nice view of the NY skyline.

I wasn’t capable of imagining a hotel room without ANY significant natural light (a tiny skylight 20ft up doesn’t rate), I.e., no windiws. NOW I will always have to worry about this. UGH. if a room has no window, it really has to be mentioned as a feature. Just gross! Maybe some people like it but: no! Otherwise place nice good location, but JFC: you have to mark that there’s no windows!

The hotel was perfectly fine, but the air conditioning unit and mini refrigerator were very loud and disrupted my sleep all night when they would turn on every hour. I barely slept and my 2 year old daughter woke up in the middle of the night from the loud air unit. I couldn’t figure out how to turn it off and there was no remote.

It was OK. The staff service was excellent. Our room had a very noisy HVAC unit that we had to turn off in order to sleep. Thankfully the weather was good during our stay, because the balcony door did not close completely so there was always a draft coming in. Not terrible in November, but would not want to be there in December/January/February.

Stayed in the studio loft. Perfect amount of space for two people. AC/heating was inconsistent. Either too cold or too hot, could not be really controlled from the thermostat (common problem with most hotels). Front staff was gracious enough to send maintenance to fix the issue, although it resulted in very HOT temperatures. We settled for that since it’s a colder time of year. Last problem was just an incredibly stiff bed. We’ve stayed at the two other properties and both has wonderful beds, but for some reason this one was SO hard it was difficult to sleep on. Of the three properties, I’d recommend the Henry Norman and Franklin Guesthouse before staying here. Not a terrible experience overall but the few problems did feel pretty big after a few days.

The hotel was fine and in a good location. The glaring problem was the service. On the first day, they gave us a room that was already occupied. When we went down to the desk to get it corrected, the guy at the front desk seemed confused and then bizarrely ran away. We asked to speak to a manager and were told that she would be in touch. The next day, when we asked to speak to the manager again, the woman at the front desk berated us for being rude and difficult (we were neither—we just wanted to speak to the manager). During our entire 4-night stay, we were never allowed to speak to the manager. A couple of smaller things: on day 3, they took all our towels and left us with none. On day 4, they failed to service our room despite having the "please service" sign on the door. These aren't major issues, but for the price we were paying I would expect better. The worst offense was the treatment by front desk staff and the refusal to let us talk to the manager.

When we arrived at check-in time, the lobby was full of people waiting for their rooms to be ready. We were told a 20 min wait and when we came back over an hour later, we were told it would be another 10 min or so. We waited another 30 min and barely got into our room before we had to meet our family for an event. It was chaotic and unprofessional and no apologies were given. It was a poor start to our trip. The hotel has ambiance and character and our stay was uneventful after check-in, but it was a very unpleasant start to our trip.

Have stayed several times due to family in area. This is the second time in the last 6 months where our room Was unavailable at check in time. Once an hour late and now an hour and 20 minutes. Yet to check in even 45 minutes early you will be charged $75 plus taxes. Reason for delayed check in was they had late checkouts. No empathy or this time no offer for a drink or

I normally only write great reviews... but this one everyone needs to know about. OVER and ABOVE Hotel.com's cost, this hotel charges you a PROPERTY FEE AND a DESTINATION FEE. We all know most hotels try to get away with a "resort" fee, but this is a resort fee PLUS a "destination fee" Denise at the front desk gets the award for the RUDEST person and the manager Kristina doesnt reply to messages or emails. AVOID this hotel at all costs. They also have zero parking and the parting in the surrounded area is always full. Lastly, while all their competition in the area offers free breakfast, they charge $22 for it, and have allowed Hotels.com to charge $30 for the same thing. It is nothing special.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Box Hotel, and our experience was overwhelmingly negative, primarily due to the incredibly rude front desk staff. Check-in is at 3 PM, but when we arrived at 4 PM, our room wasn’t ready. After a 20-minute wait, we were given a basic room instead of the duplex suite we reserved. The front desk claimed our booked room had “water damage,” but they only mentioned this when we confronted them, which felt like an attempt to downgrade us without compensation. After more back and forth, we were moved to another room that was still not what we booked and still being cleaned. A bellhop, noticing our dissatisfaction, suggested we speak to the front desk again. Kristina, the front desk staff member, was shockingly rude—raising her voice and blaming us for the situation. We also saw her mistreat other guests throughout the weekend. Eventually, another staff member intervened and finally got us into the original room, which showed no signs of water damage. The entire ordeal was frustrating and left a terrible impression. We will not be returning to the Box Hotel and strongly recommend choosing another place to stay.

A quiet, boutique hotel in a family friendly part of Brooklyn. The hotel is in very good condition, very clean and the front desk staff is very courteous. I was here for a short weekend stay, and was very satisfied. It is in walking distance of major thoroughfare with lots of restaurants and local businesses. It is not a chain hotel, but ideal for a quick getaway, especially since you can walk over to Queens over the Pulaski bridge in about 15 to 20 mins.

The Boxhouse Hotel is in a renovated factory or warehouse building. The interior design has a lot of character and is very Brooklyn. With tons of trendy bars, cafes and restaurants around it’s in a great location and as a former neighborhood resident I can say the area is very safe. I recommend getting breakfast included; it’s fantastic.

Highly highly recommend recommending the state to anybody that wants to go to New York City. It was the perfect facility, with the friendliest staff and the best overall environment, no complaints at all. I included pictures of the beautiful dining room, which had one of the best included breakfast I've ever enjoyed and the most pleasant environment you could imagine.

Overall great stay for a single night. The breakfast, though generally decent food, was really badly executed. No coffee most of the time, food was slow to come out. Lots of waiting and then giving up. I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast - not worth the cost.

The hotel seems to value wedding guests and their parties more than non-wedding guests. The bar was closed last for a wedding party that was on the roof/not even in the bar and refused to serve patrons. This morning the hotel was out of creamer and I was told to wait for the restaurant to own, rather than the staff taking time to put out more creamer. Some of the staff were not friendly or helpful- a new guy and woman working last night were great.
