The rooms are run down and dirty. Bathroom fan didn’t work. The balcony is unusable because of the AC noise and blowing heat. The valet service is slow and expensive. In July the beach loungers had a 2 hour wait list. Why pay a “resort fee” We’ve been 3 other times because of the location, but never again!

I have been at this boutique hotel on the beach before and use to love it. However, now it is overcrowded and you must be on the beach at 8:00 AM if you want to get chairs and umbrella. Otherwise, forget it as it will be a nightmare. It seems they are overselling access to the facilities by just paying a "Resort Fee", impacting all guests. In addition, service and maintenance has collapsed. In my room the large TV did not work and the air conditioning units in all three rooms we booked were extremely noisy. I hope they fix these problems to return someday. Meantime, I will refrain from going back.

What I liked: Workers at the beach, front desk, adult pool & spa. Location is great, near walkable restaurant. Less great: Restaurant waiters ignoring people sitting down at the dinning, sat for 45 min to be ignored, restaurant was empty so not a problem of a busy rush. Got to ask 2-3 times for waiters to come by the pool, but they at least eventually came by.

The resort fee at this property was a " Whopping $58 taxes per night". Yet the amenities were poor! Example, there are four hot tubs on the property with only one in working order. Spoke to Hotel manager who said he was new and they yrting to get the tubs repaired -- yet after 6 days no change. Both pools were not cleaned out, thus leaves, debris etc. were visible. Staff has been cut at the Hotel to increase profit margin, example, there was only one front desk representative at check in at 1 PM in the afternoon while three guests were looking to check in. Housekeeping consistently made errors, like not providing sufficient shampoo and hand towels in the room after service. This is Not a 4 Star hotel.... beware the junk fees like -- The Resort Fee ar $58 taxes per night.... outrageous.

Overall, the hotel views itself and prices itself as an upscale property... but that's where it ends. The hotel has a lovely, chic lobby but the quality drops off once you move to the rooms and the outdoor areas. The staff is nice and functional but a far cry from a luxury property like a Ritz or St. Regis. Sadly, we found the roof top adult pool deck area a mess of trash and the spas broken - which no one told us about until we asked the attendant why they weren't working. The beach access is excellent so take full advantage of it.

It’s a great hotel with a great location but it desperately needs a renovation. There are 3 elevators and only two were working. Daily one of the two were not working which left one elevator for the entire hotel.

Stayed here for a kosher food tour with my husband for our 10 year anniversary. It’s a lovely hotel that is walking distance to all the restaurants. A nice perk is the rooftop adult only pool. We appreciated the quiet! Would def go back.

Gorgeous lobby, Spacious rooms, Excellent service inside and at the beach, However, the adult-only roof-top pool was unusable for our entire stay -- broken heater. As was one the their two roof-top hot tubs. Inadequate seating in the room -- only one desk chair for two tables. Also, there connecting doors to the suite besides ours, which allowed the noise of the crying children to disturb our rest.

The property is small and cute. However, the maintenance and operation is below average. The pool was dirty and cloudy. No side tables for the food. Elevators wait time was 15 minutes average. I requested for extra sheets for the sofa bed and waited 3 hours (!!!) had to go downstairs in my PJ to find someone to get it for me. Not enough people operating the property. Towels smell was unacceptable and no bath rugs or wash towels. Corridor carpet was very dirty and probably should be replaced.

We were given a disgusting room! It was around 11:30pm and ai finished unpacking. When I was ready to lay in bed I saw a bunch of insects that I’ve never seen running in the bed and pillows! I googled what a “bed bug” would look like a sure thing! They were all bed bugs!!!! Unbelievable!!! That late in the night, tired of a plane trip we had to pack again and move to another room: this time clean! The bed is not comfy though, the mattress is hard! The view to the ocean is stunning! Besides that if you don’t belong to the excess of religious families in there, you feel funny, they pray all long the day, so regardless if you are at the beach or at the reception, you are surrounded by them praying, so you feel like you don’t belong there.

This is a very fun and cute property. Reasonably priced, modern, classy, fun. The bathroom sink wasn't clean, so that was disappointing. Other than that, it was really fabulous. Loved the pool on top of the hotel and everything is flamingo pink (towels, lounge chairs by the pools and beach, umbrellas. I would definitely stay here again as long as they clean my sink first. 😉 The employees were very friendly and accommodating.

We have stayed at this hotel before, the bedroom floor was not swept and without slippers your feet kept picking up bits, the bedside table was not dusted for the 14 days we stayed, one day our room was not made up until 7.30pm after we requested it be done. Most days we were without hand towels or wash cloths. The dressing gowns were tiny, no one over a size 12UK would not be able to wear it. The tables on the pool deck on the roof were never cleaned, we sat in the same place every day and the stains were there for the whole time. The rooftop bar now only opens 3 days a week, some days it was after 2pm before anyone came to ask we would like to order drinks. The water cooler provided ,had three inch conical drinking vessels, one mouth full of water.

I recently stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel Surfside, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. While the location and exterior of the hotel are lovely, there were several issues during my stay that left me disappointed. Firstly, there was no cold water in the shower—only scalding hot water. This was extremely inconvenient, especially when I was mid-shower with shampoo in my hair and had to run from room to room trying to find a functional shower.i had 2 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms but only hot water . Additionally, the cleanliness of the floors was unacceptable. When I wiped my foot on a towel, it turned black from the dirt. This is not what one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The bathrooms lacked locks, which compromised privacy, and none of the beds had proper sheets for the comforter. Initially, we assumed this was standard practice since all the beds were the same, but the front desk later informed us this was incorrect. After raising these concerns with the front desk, we were told the manager would contact us before our flight, but we are still waiting for a call. This lack of follow-through only added to our frustration. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience in hopes that the hotel can address these issues. The potential is there, but attention to detail and guest satisfaction need significant improvement.

We had to go through two rooms. First room had a broken sink barely hanging from wall and damaged floors. So we had to change rooms, second room was ok but the shower leaked all over the floor as the door hinge was broken. The ac vent leaked water all night all over the floor. This is definitely not worth the 600 some dollars a night. Will choose a different hotel in the future.

Very nice and spacious rooms. Well maintained. Loved the second bathroom. Service was average. Mediocre cleaning, no turn down and management services felt almost non-existent. The grounds were lovely and beach access was excellent.

We were given their “best room” and it was in horrible condition. The floor was coming apart and in some areas had tape over it holding it together. The shower handle fell off as I was getting in and the room just did not feel clean at all. Would not recommend to anyone to stay here.

The property itself was okay but the stay was not. We paid for an ocean front room and received a room that was on the 3rd floor and the view was entirely blocked by palm trees. We could not see the ocean at all but still paid the premium price for ocean front. The air conditioning in our room was broken from the previous guests and it wasn't checked before we were placed, so we spent our first night without any air at all.

Did not like the beds which were too hard and the pillow much to large. Back ache every morning. One elevator was broken and the numbers on both of the others did not operate correctly. First room we could not get into as the door lock battery did not work. They switched us to another. No wrist bands either for 2 days. The door handle and lock were broken on our bathroom. We have been several times and the hotel is starting to show it's age. Needs to be better maintained. Love the extra bathroom. Hate hate the mattress and pillows.

I enjoyed our stay at the hotel starting with a nice glass of prosecco for the VIO experience and a bottle of wine at our arrival in the room. The facilities were nice and the staff was friendly! However , the valet parking was TERRIBLE!!! Never stayed in a hotelwirt such bad valet parking. Averaged 25 mins each day to get my car and on the last day of our stay , 45 minutes ! I couldn’t even believe it .it somehow ruined our hotel experience. I would rate the hotel higher if the valet had been a better experience. They need a better system . Even to park car to give key was a challenge! The room was clean and liked the fact there were two bathrooms in our suite .

Recently went for our anniversary and the brand os always great. The cleanliness was great the service was amazing staff goes above and beyond. The hotel had some older guests that treated staff very rude but despite that, the staff always remained happy and professional. The hotel was able to provide our request, bed was confortable and clean rooms. Only negative is that its understaffed especially in the bar and outside bar area staff did the best they could though. Also wish they had some late night bites or even a place for snacks

The hotel is lovely and the rooms are nice too. The service however was 1 stars. I had landed after an 11 hour flight and tried to contact them for early check in. It proved a nightmare to get hold of someone, was passed about from person to person and got the phone hung up on me twice. Upon checking in I was told with a casual smile that they simply didn't have enough staff. I've stayed in Bal Harbour before mostly at the St Regis and you can't compare the service. The person checking me in ( female with curly hair) was quite rude and didn't seem to care much. No valet parking, something I find strange in that area. Late checkout was requested kindly and although my room wasn't sold I was given just over an hour and had to pay hourly after. Communication was poor between staff about everything. From when I checked in and had to schlep my 3. Bags up myself to the Late checkout saga. Won't stay there again and will not recommend. Beautiful hotel and great location, but service was horrible. No one ever answered the phone at the front desk. Sometimes there would be no one at the front desk, even at peak daytime hours. It often took 15 minutes just to get down the elevator to the lobby. The valet was expensive and the line was always long. They didn’t take calls or texts to order your car. You had to physically go down to the valet and then wait on average another 15 minutes for them to pull it around. When we arrived neither of the TV’s worked. One night there was no hot water. The cleaning staff were very rude.

I didn’t like the service we were provided, we asked for towels and never got them. The woman at the market had an attitude with the guests, they ran out of water bottles to sell at the market. Ran out of water at a beach resort? There were holes by the hot tubs on the first floor, one of the people in our party had her foot stuck on one, the lights weren’t turned on at the upstairs pool until late at night, so we couldn’t use the amenities until later at night cause you couldn’t see anything. There were questionable guests at the adult pool upstairs. The prices of the food at the market are insane $6 for chips and $11 for a fruit cup? The food at the restaurant was pricey, but it was good so we didn’t mind paying a little extra.Overall the value of the service we were provided didn’t match the value of what we paid for our stay. There were a couple of employees like Anthony from the Market and the guy at the front desk who were friendly and helpful, but they were the exception. The property is beautiful and has great potential, but is poorly maintained and the staff isn’t great at all. Overall we were dissatisfied and disappointed, we expected more from our stay there.

Views are very nice - the beach chairs are alittle bit old - the main problem is the noise from the AC units - it’s so loud hou don’t want to go on our patio or on the rooftop terrasse. Food at the restaurant is very poor and the food counter to take out is below average

1. hotel staff didn't locate our reservation, they told me to call Expedia in order to solve the problem, the answer was: yap... this is expedia... if you like better service you need to make reservation with the hotel and not expedia. 2. room cleaning non existing, very bad service. 3. restaurant and breakfast - bad services. Not recommended at all.

I would just say the check in took longer than it needed to. I’ve stayed with you quite a few times so didn’t need the 15 min check in. Also, if I’m paying $25 per drink at the rooftop pool, I would think I would receive the drink before 20 min when we were the only ones there & that maybe they would pick up the empties? Just little things, other than that, love the hotel

The hotel is very well-maintained, rooms were spacious and the property was beautiful- from the mail level pool area to the rooftop. Hotel staff were also very friendly and helpful. It was the restaurant at breakfast and the rooftop pool bar that had terrible service. We waited forever for someone to take our order at breakfast, she never checked on us- I had to find someone to get our bill. With the rooftop pool bar, it was the same thing. There was no one there at all on the Sunday to bring drinks or food. Other than the food service, the hotel was fantastic and I would stay again.
