Clean room, great food, friendly staff and an overall good atmosphere. Will definitely return if we're in York again!

Friendly staff, basic room which was suitable for us. Clean & tidy, priced reasonably well. ,Location was handy with a bus stop just around the corner and a wee lovely cafe too, tasty wee fish & chip shop just along the road with very friendly staff and Morrisons right next door with helpful staff. Unfortunately no breakfast available but I would still stay there again,

The room was quite small and the en-suite was pretty tired. It was pretty warm however, I couldn't leave the window open as the road was quite busy until pretty late and then from early in the morning with noise being too much as a car seemed to go past every 10 seconds. I would've been okay with £30 for this room but unfortunately, I don't think it was worth £54. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly so, no issues with the staff.

The hotel is quite far from the city centre. That means a bus(3quid) or taxi (approx 6 quid)either way unless you drive , so factor the cost in when considering. The rooms are above a pub. Access os via a metal fire escape at the rear of the property. Our twin room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was tiny and one of the basin taps was loose. The major issue we had was on returning to the room at 1.39am the key to the communal door dudnt wirk
