For the price - spot on! Free parking, friendly check in, 25 minutes walk from town, comfy beds and ample hot water. Hotel wasn't perfect condition/cleanliness but I didn't expect it to be for the price. Room was noisy as it's a pub, so bring earplugs.

Close to city centre with own carpark, friendly check in and bar staff. Just one note of caution there is music until 1AM I knew prior to booking and was told when I checked in. Will I use again - most probably yes. Good value for money

As a lot of reviews for this pub/hotel say. The noise levels from the pubs music event are extremely loud to the point that my room door was vibrating. This didn’t bother me as sat in the pub and listen to the music. But if your expecting a peaceful stay when they have music on I would advices this would not be a place to stay

Lady that checked us in was very friendly and knew all the answers to all our questions. We arrived early, and was allowed to get our room key before hand ( not the room) and she also allowed us to park our car at their free car park while going into the German Xmas market. Bus right outside the pub took us into town centre. On arrival back late in the evening we managed to catch last orders in the bar. Room in itself was clean, a bit dated, but was told they are doing them all up bit by bit. Nice chunky side furniture. Bed was on the hard side but I had a good night sleep. Shower is not for the bigger size people, very tiny gap to get into. Was missing a few shelves in the bathroom to put my toilet bag. This being a old building the floor board does have a mind of their own. No breakfast service in the morning. Overall this was a okay stay for what you pay. If ever back in birmingham I would book again. Good value.

Good location for the things we wanted to do in Digbeth. Excellence atmosphere in the pub, super friendly staff. Band on until 1am on the pub which did impact on the ability to sleep BUT the pub does advertise the fact they have live bands on a weekend. Basic but spotlessly clean and had everything you'd need for an overnight stay

This is a great choice for Birmingham city visit or a night out, very affordable and free parking if you arrive back after the pub is closed there is a door on the side to get back in to the hotel. Really enjoyed the stay.

Easy check in although they do ask for photo id or take your picture. The rooms are clean and comfortable but noisy you can hear everything especially the bar if you are on the ground floor. It has a decent car park and a great bar, there is a couple of other pubs nearby the Irish bar is worth a visit. Have stayed here a few times and will most likely be staying again.

When i arrived in my room after i checked in there was paper wraps from chocolate bars on the top shelf and my room wasn't cleaned everyday when i ran out of milk coffee and sugar and toilet paper i had to tell a member of staff to more of thrm for me and in fairness they did my bed wasn't made up everyday either but the staff were very helpful though and there was a dent on the bathroom door too and my bin wasn't emptied everyday either and the blinds was all tangled and broken and i had to imporm a member of staff about and they got someone to fix it and it was tangled broken when i entered my room after checking in and i could hear noise from outside at night too and i could hear somebody in the room next to mine snoring

We were going to a show at the O2 Institute and wanted plenty of bars and restaurants close by. The location was absolutely superb, and the free car park was a massive bonus. The room was small but plenty big enough, you could have two people move around without climbing over each other! The bathroom was tiny but big enough for what you would need. There was a granular dust around on the surfaces, which was also on the table in the bar. When we arrived the room had a just cleaned smell and we both commented on how it smelled like mens deodorant. Nothing offensive though. We were in and out quickly and didn’t arrive back until around 11:30pm. When we went into the room we were hit with a smell of stagnant drainage. We opened the window and shut the bathroom door, but any time we went to the toilet it was horrendous. The room smelled like stale urine, and the intensity was absolutely shocking. There is clearly a systemic issue with the plumbing. It was like trying to sleep in a men’s urinal in a 1970s social club! In the morning when using the shower, the on/off knob was not attached and fell off on the floor. There was black mound in all of the joints, which was really disappointing. A quick spray of anti-mould cleaner would have really helped. If it wasn’t for the offensive smell we would have happily have gone back again, and recommended the hotel. Unfortunately I cannot recommend against strongly enough. The smell is honestly so bad it wakes you up.

VERY TIRED - Carpet fraying, bathroom stank or mould and something else....Mould in shower and, floor dirty, needs a very deep clean. Bed comfy and clean sheets and quiet - would not stay here again persiod

I came to Birmingham for a concert which was around a half hour walk from the arena and only 15 mins-ish from the bullring. The price was super affordable compared to other hotels in the area. I had an easy check-in and the staff were so welcoming. The room was a good size aswell as being super clean, including the bathroom! I’d definitely stay again! Thanks.

Excellent value, far exceeding expectations. Very well maintained. Very nice touches such as the feature wall behind the bed. Bathroom exceptionally clean and well presented.

To be very clear, the hotel and the pub/restaurant may be in the same building, but they are very different. The pub/restaurant was lovely. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was tasty. The atmosphere was authentic and homely. I would recommend it! The hotel, however, I would not recommend. My sister and I stayed for 5 days, and not once was our room cleaned. I mean, it wasn't clean to begin with. We found old Starburst candies under the bed, and the bathroom smelled terrible the entire time. There's no ventilation in the bathroom either, so the smell never left. The WIFI was spotty and unreliable (it worked for me, but didn't for my sister 5 feet away). The rooms weren't soundproof, so neither us nor our neighbours had any privacy. The worst part of our stay, however, was our last night (Saturday). There was a concert happening in the pub when we returned at 9pm. We thought it might end at 11 or 12. No. It continued until 2:30am! We had to catch our flight at 4:30am, so we didn't sleep at all. I would have called the front desk to complain, but the rooms have no phones. After that night, it was clear to us that the pub was the priority. Not the hotel. I would never stay here again, and I don't recommend that you do either. Very disappointing.

The bed was comfortable and thats all that is positive. The bathroom stank and the carpet was dirty. The walls are so thin, you can hear everything. Ok if you just need to rest your head for the night, but i wont be returning.

Great welcome when arriving rooms a little delayed due to a staff shortage ( we arrived exactly at checkin) but we were kept up to date with status so we had a drink in the garden . Rooms are basic but the bed sheets were clean however the shower could do with a bit of a deep clean but not enough to stop you useing it. For the price it was better than expected .

Room was not particularly clean - dirt and detritus on the floor, some black mould on the ceiling, general grime in the bathroom. One of the bed frames had partially collapsed as well. But for the price, I wouldn't complain too much. It was fine for a single night stay

Honestly the whole place was actually quite nice. One issue I had which dragged the rating way down are the walls. They are so incredibly thin. The couple staying on the room next to mine had a 2h argument at 3am and I, without any choice of my own, was privy to the whole details of their relationship. Staff are lovely, accomodation is great, but if I struggle to sleep , then unfortunately its a poor rating from me .

Nice people, clean and tidy, but Wi-Fi tragically bad, so bad that staff sent me down the road to another pub which had excellent WiFi, good beer and, so I discovered, rooms to stay in. Guess where I’ll be staying next time?

The pub was very noisy and the room above was very creaky. Noisy room neighbours and lack of sleep. The food was good and reasonable priced.

Room was very cold when I arrived, but was very comfy by bedtime :-) Person in room above mine was very restless and when combined with squeaky floorboards was a bit annoying

Nice modern room in a pub great short distance from city centre. A little bit noisy after 1am, but that was other guests, nothing the owners can do about that really.

The only real criticism is the thin walls which mean you can hear everything the person next to you is watching on tv etc. The rooms themselves were nice enough, the bed comfy, the service good.

Staff friendly, just needs updating. Very thin mattress, no mattress cover, noisy bar til the early hours Old carpet, the toilet was clean, shower could have done with a bleach, we didn’t have breakfast, very thin walls, squeaky floor boards

I arrived around 6:30pm to check in. Had to wait nearly 15 mins as there was only 1 staff member. Who was busy working the bar. Was given door code but had no idea where it was. Had to ask people who was smoking in beer garden. Paid £10 for 12 noon check out, was woken by up by the house keeping ladies talking loudly outside in the corridor then knocked my door at 10am. I opened the door and had to let them know I had late check out & asked them to keep the noise down. Had to ask woman in pub if I just leave key key on reception, she jut said yes. Wasn’t asked how the stay was or anything.

We were booked in for two nights but only stayed for one. We were kept awake until gone 1am from the music in the bar. The room was very small and dirty. We asked for a refund but still haven't heard back from the manager. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

The property made me feel very welcome from the moment I walked through the door, receptionist was very friendly and I felt like I was really valued as a customer. I left my driving license in the room and it was sent to me by recorded delivery to Ireland in a few days, superb customer service. I stayed for 2 nights and I invited a couple of friends to watch the world cup in the bar on the second night, and the hodpitalty was excellent, a hidden treasure only a few minutes walk into the city centre. 10/10 and definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Birmingham for business or leisure.

Stayed for 1 night. Staff were friendly. Small room but for the price was expected. 10 minutes walk to the Bullring which was ideal for us. Free on site parking which was great.

The hotel was spotlessly clean, basic accommodation, the staff were really good, extremely polite & helpful. The surrounding area was rather run down, but there were no problems even at night. The bus stop is opposite the hotel & just a short ride into the city centre, all in all we enjoyed our stay there

Chose this pub as close to venue we were seeing a band at. Clean pleasant pub and accommodation, I was on ground floor at front so people walking past look directly in your room. No breakfast which was a shame especially for price of 58 per night. Otherwise clean and friendly.

Middle of nowhere and very noisy inside the hotel at all hours of the night and the roadworks outside the place as well during the day.

Although in a run down area the room was clean and comfortable Regular bus 50 to moor street station Good value at this time If you walk from new street station last 10 minutes uphill

The property was very clean and quiet easy to town centre

I choose this property simply because it was within walking distance of a venue I was visting on a Saturday night It's about 20 mins walk from the train station and 10 mins to the coach station and walkable to the centre, pending where you want to go. I didn't use the car park The staff member on duty was very friendly/helpful/informative. A very easy check in/check out My room was on the ground floor with the car park/ outdoor seating visible. It was clean, warm and well prepared However, it was a Saturday night and outside was extremely noisy until well after 1.00am plus a disco inside A few people have mentioned the rundown area and lack of any decent shops/restaurants/coffee bars. There is Cost Cutter at the end of the road for very basic things Overall, it will suit anyone requiring good basic clean out of city accommodation and who isn't bothered about noise

Decent value hotel, where everything works fine. Didn't drink in the pub, but had breakfast there which was ok. Slightly desolate area, but it doesn't take too long to walk into the centre AND (though I didn't use it) a frequent bus runs from just outside the hotel.

Room was clean and functional with comfortable bed and nice walk in shower. Nice cooked breakfasts at reasonable price. Short taxi or bus ride to city centre and Symphony Hall. Room rates were lower than city centre hotels.

Great clean and comfortable room, friendly staff very helpful, we even had food before we went to the concert, it was delicious and good value for money, would stay again

Very noisy, the room was shaking with the noise from the bar. Impossible to sleep before 1:00 am. Nothing to eat (even on a Saturday night), had to order from a restaurant. And still, I had to wait for more than 10 minutes for 2 pints, the barmaid was not able the cope with all requests and I feel for her...

This is a good old fashioned pub. Helpful staff and clean basic rooms. A long slog uphill from New Street station, but is walkable. Breakfasts only available at weekends. Would recommend as a stop off before flying from Birmingham. We would stay again

Stayed for one night while visiting Xmas market. Arrived before check in time, so after speaking to friendly staff member, she said we could leave car in car park and check in later. She gave us bus info and directions to walk into city, which was a 15 min walk. When we returned, we were given room 25 a twin room on the 1st floor. We then went back down to the bar for a drink in a good atmosphere before retiring. Unfortunately we did not have a good nights sleep, one of the beds was squeaking every time you moved and the mattresses were uncomfortable. We were also disturbed by the room upstairs with the noisy floorboards. Would have requested a top floor room if we realised how much and early the resident above was going to be. Unfortunately on check in we were told there was no breakfast service, so after being disturbed by the resident above early in the morning, we left at 7.30 am, leaving the key in reception as there was no one on duty at that time.

Convienient location - within walking distance of town. Quiet, clean and helpful staff. Shame breakfast wasn’t available for the date we stayed. Other than that good value for money.

We loved the staff they are so helpful and friendly. The food was amazing,we stay here every time we come to Birmingham so we can’t recommend it enough
