Marivaux Hotel

The road that the hotel is situated on was closed due to ongoing roadworks therefore we were unable to off load luggage at hotel. Checking in at reception we were advised that the car parking that we had pre booked and received confirmation, was now not available due to the roadworks, I complained that we had not received any notification and that on site parking was a reason for booking this hotel. We were advised to park in a public carpark, locations provided by reception. Our room was upgraded for the inconvenience. As my wife can not use a lift we asked for directions to the staircase to our room on the 4th floor, the receptionist led us to a stairwell telling us that the stairs were under construction. The staircase consisted of crumbling unfinished concrete steps covered in dust, plasterboard walls and loose wiring hanging from the wall on one floor, I pointed out that as this was a health and safety risk as the stairs in my opinion were dangerous and asked if there was another staircase to access our room, we were told by two members of staff during our stay that it was the only staircase. The manager was unavailable, but gave us, a complimentary breakfast on one day of our stay as recompense. On check out a member of staff told us we could have used the emergency stairs but if we could not use the lift we should have advised in advance, disappointed that staff unaware of alternative stairs leaving us to use dangerous stairs during our stay. no one seemed bothered.

The elevators didn't work and the hallways are so long and confusing we lost ourselves every time outside the room. At night we were cold but the reception had only one extra blanket (we were two persons) No one to help with the luggage also. Positive point - the coffee in the room was good. Breakfast - 23 euros pp - I find this rather exxagerated even for Bruxelles.

The Marivaux is in an excellent location within easy walking distance of shops , restaurants and attractions. The rooms are comfortably furnished , clean and of a very good standard. Parking is conveniently available in an under hotel garage. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The photos showed the bar an bistro open, but in fact they were closed. Also the room I selected showed free breakfast, but in fact it wasn't.

Funky former art deco movie theater. Nice spacious rooms. But the long hallways were often dark and a bit scary,

Ein gutes Hotel in Brüssel. Gerne komme ich wieder. Großes schönes Zimmer, sauber (abgesehen von Verkalkungen im Bad) und ruhig. Freundlicher und effizienter Service beim Ein- und Auschecken. Schönes Ambiente und für mich günstige Lage. Kein Fitnessraum, was ich immer vermisse.

Situated in a great area only 10 minutes walk from Grand Place and St Catherine's area and we were pleased to find a really busy shopping street only one road over. We did not have breakfast as it was expensive but we went to a different cafe on the street each day. Disappointed to not have a hotel bar for final drink before bed at end of day.

Overall I was really happy with this hotel. I went there partly for work and partly for the city break. I travelled with my girlfriend. I would happily stay there again. Positives - Super helpful staff Really comfortable bed Great location for getting around the city Good value Modern Excellent free Wifi Good gym facilities Less positive Ongoing street works made the outside seem messy and a little tricky underfoot in places, but these were flagged up by the hotel and should finish soon. There were a few sex shops in Adolphe Max, which were not offensive to me, but it might be a bit challenging to answer a "what's that" question if you walked along the street with a young child. On two mornings out of 5 the water in the shower started to run cool and then cold water. The room TVs were not smart TVs. There was quite often a pretty unpleasant smell on the second floor near the gym and some toilets there. The rooms and corridors all seemed a little dark. Some of the security measures you often see in hotels nowadays were absent, for example key cards were not required to use the lifts, which in theory leaves them open for anyone who gets past reception to roam the hotel.

geräumiges Zimmer, Badezimmer mit Badewanne und separater Dusche, WC getrennt vom Badezimmer. Doppelbett mit guter Matratze. Große Einbauschränke somit ausreichend Stauraum. Zimmer hatte Fenster zum schmucklosen Innenhof, somit keine erwähnenswerte Aussicht. Für eine Nacht akzeptabel. Da die Umgebung des Hotels derzeit eine einzige große Baustelle ist, wäre das parken an der Straße in der gesamten Umgebung sehr risikoreich gewesen. Wir haben daher die hoteleigene Garage genutzt. Tagesrate EUR 30,-. Große, geräumige Garage. Wir hatte ohne Frühstück gebucht. Das Hotel liegt ziemlich zentral, Grand Place und Umgebung fußläufig in ca. 15 Minuten erreichbar.

Fint hotel, men kritik af fitness faciliteter, som trænger til en gennemgang. Fx er et løbebånd med buler en risiko for ankelskader

The hotel is very well located. The staff at reception superb! Rooms are small but ok. The only thing I would change is the carpets in the hallways that are very dirty and worn down

Chambre impeccable et personnel charmant

La chambre était très spacieuse et fonctionnelle. La literie de qualité. RAS sur la propreté et les équipements. N espresso, bouilloire, table et fer à repasser. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et beaucoup de choix. Personnel et accueil sympa. On reviendra avec plaisir dans cet hôtel situé dans le centre historique de Bruxelles.

El personal fue amable y colaborador para facilitar la estancia. Instalaciones curiosas por la temática de la decoración y en un estado impecable de mantenimiento y limpieza.

The room we were given was not cleaned and it was difficult to get a room that matched the reservation.

Un hôtel confortable, bien situé, propre, entre la Grand Place et la gare du Nord. Personnel agréable. Calme. Literie excellente.

The room was quite small, carpet had stains on it. Bed was comfortable, but the cushions on the bed had hair on them. The bathroom was small, the extractor fan didnt seem to work as it was dripping with condensation after using the shower. The shower was nice and the water was hot. We only spent 1 night so didnt bother mentioning any of this to reception. I wouldn't stay there again

The room was spacious, deluxe option, the upkeep could be improved. The carpet was very stained, the toilet was loose and a constant drip in the bathroom. We chose because of the room size and king bed option

A primeira impressão foi boa, fomos recebido pela Amanda que foi carinhosamente atenciosa em todos os sentidos. Após a primeira noite no hotel, percebemos que o serviço de limpeza dos quartos não era eficaz. Toalhas ásperas e o serviço de arrumação péssimo. as toalhas eram jogadas no banheiro e não arrumadas. A localização do hotel é fantástica e o café da manhã razoavelmente bem.

Lovely hotel, close to Rogier station (and 15 mins walk from Bruxelles-Nord). shops close by, and Grand Place easily walkable. The room was incredibly quiet, spacious, with a large comfortable bed, and great shower. The room had a fridge, safe and coffee machine.

I requested a double room, but on arrival noticed i'd been given a twin room - i notified the front of house staff immediately who checked my reservation and said they'd rectify it the next day. Arrived back the following day to see my bed configuration had not changed. I realise it's not guaranteed but I would've gone somewhere else had i known as i ended up being in a single bed and could've found somewhere cheaper. That being said, the bed was comfy and there were no bed bugs (as seen on other reviews). The waterfall shower was delightful as was the coffee machine. I had a front facing room and found it a bit drafty and noisy at night.

Room was outstanding. Large room with separate rooms for toilet and separate room for shower and tub. Had everything you needed. Great air-conditioning.

Clean room, walking distance to center, close to metro stations. Interesting layout in the deluxe room, very roomy and nice, just know the sink and shower are separated from the toilet which is sort of odd. Area shuts down in the evening so the streets feel deserted but not necessarily unsafe.

Hotel muito bonito e confortável. Clássico hotel de convenções (tem uns salões no térreo). A máquina de café do nosso quarto não estava funcionando, solicitamos a troca, que foi realizada de imediato. Quarto amplo e confortável. O Wi-Fi no nosso quarto só pegava próximo à cabeceira da cama e caía com frequência. Comunicamos a recepção e ofereceram trocar nosso quarto, mas já havíamos desfeito as malas, aí ficamos nele mesmo. Tirando isso, excelente hotel, excelente custo-beneficio. Próximo à estação de metrô, restaurantes e uma rua de comércios (lojas de departamentos, galerias, etc).

Super nice staff and very clean, but the decor is very dark, depressing and dreary. Hated the two twin beds as they moved around. Also, most of the lights in the bathroom were burned out so I couldn’t see to put on makeup. Hairblower was terrible. The room was very quiet and spacious, though, and I liked the room service and the fact they didn’t tack on a lot of extra fees like most hotels do. Unfortunately, the sidewalks are torn up on that street and it’s hard to walk but that’s out of their control.

Staff were nice and helpful. Location is walkable to restaurants, shopping and Metro. The only thing is bathroom. It seems the shower was short that water splashes everywhere and it gets the floor really slippery and concerning. No refrigerator in the room.

The gentlemen at reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was a great size and very comfortable.

The hotel is understaffed. Need at least one more person at front desk. Door keys worked off and in. Shower door let out a lot of water so bathroom floor flooded.

The shower was broken, we couldn't change the temperature, we reported this but nobody came to fix it and they didnt bother to change our room. The reception not friendly and with grumpy face.

The staff at the reception was very friendly, helpful and pleasant especially William and Adrian and the lady at reception on Wednesday whose name I forgot. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable and central base to go around Brussels and surrounds.

Et bien mesdames sachez que la sécurité n’est pas la préoccupation du directeur ! A 3 heures du matin j’ai été réveillée par la présence d’un homme en caleçon dans ma chambre pourtant fermée à clé et que j’ai du repousser fortement pour qu’il sorte. Ce monsieur après une bonne nuit est rentré chez lui tranquillement et moi j’aurai peur à partir de maintenant ! Vous pensez que le directeur m’aurait contactée pour s’excuser et me rassurer ? Et bien non il « avait trop de travail » ! Il a laissé ses employés se dépatouiller avec ça et moi j’ai réglé ma note et je suis partie avec mon traumatisme !

Great location

The hotel was okay however there is major roadworks occurring directly outside the hotel (I was informed that these shall continue until April 2025), on my last morning i was awoken at 6:00am from the noise of the excavation works. There is also lots of dust and dirt on the pedestrian walkways directly in the vacinity of the hotel so avoid bringing or having the notion of wearing any nice footwear if stopping at the hotel. The safety in some parts is rather questionable I just about managed to avoid dropping in a hole (covered by boarding) when wheeling my trolley, definately avoid this location if you are travelling with any young / vunerable precious ones. Would of been nice to be informed of all the major works around the hotel prior to my arrival so that I had the option of seeking alternative accommodation, I did book this place prior to the roadworks and at time of booking the photos looked great. Internally the hotel did have nice decor and seemed reasonably well maintained and cleaned so I would of thought they would have provided alternative access and egress given the external works.

Great location, 10 min walk from the heart of the city. Close enough to everything but in a quiet location. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. I'd stay here again.

Hotel vicino al centro con personale cortese e camere ampie, molto comodo avere a disposizione macchinetta del caffè in camera Lati negativi: manca frigobar in camera e proprio nei pressi dell’hotel ci sono homeless e persone poco raccomandabili

Hotel situato in centro Bruxelles, a due passi dalla grand place e da tutte le vie dello shopping. Gare du nord raggiungibile in 10 minuti a piedi, per cui comodissimo per metro e treni. La Colazione variegata ed abbondante. Camere pulite. Personale gentile e disponibile. Consigliatissimo!

Hotel muy cómodo y bien ubicado, a 15 minutos andando de la Gran Place. Buen desayuno, personal atento y habitación muy limpia.

Breakfast is very expensive, but the room we had this year was far better than the two previous times. Our room was 5th floor, front facing, two TVs, separate shower/bathroom and toilet. Coffee machine and fridge, along with ironing board and kettle and cups. It’s also has a safe too. Remember to bring adapters as there are no usb sockets. Good room though.

Clean and nice rooms. Breakfast was a good quality selection.

Früstück unter aller kritik - schlechte hygieine (Haare im essen, keine Spuckschutz… generell schlechtes früstück für den Preis… Sonst ist alles irgendwie veraltet - Zimmer war sehr dunkel… hat unsere meinung nicht 4 Sterne erfühlt.. Würden wir nicht wieder buchen. Beste beim Hotel war Gelegenheit nah Zentrum sonst nichts Spannend.
