I celebrated my 40th birthday over a three day weekend. I stayed with my parents and we had the most wonderful weekend. The rooms were beautiful with incredibly comfortable beds - the mattress was amazing! Every amenity was provided and done to an incredible standard. We started the weekend with the science afternoon tea which was imaginative, beautiful and incredibly tasty. Having had afternoon tea at many of the big five star hotels in London this not only stands up, it surpasses many of them! The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help. I had ordered a cake from a local bakery for a family brunch later on the Sunday and following a mixup, we had had to make alternative arrangements and the hotel were happy to keep the cake in their fridge overnight- so helpful! Overall, I could not recommend this hotel more highly for both comfort and overall experience. I can’t wait to go back!

Stylish hotel right next to South Kensington Tube Station. We had a lovely large room with large modern bathroom with two showers. Complimentary drinks and snacks in the room. Beautiful dining room with amazing afternoon teas. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely staff. Emails prior to stay not responded to which i would expect of a hotel of this standard; all sorted at check in though. Missed a proper hotel bar when we returned after spending the day out. Drinks are served in the restaurant. Having said that the staff were wonderful; just not quite as relaxing drinking at restaurant type tables laid for breakfast rather than in a bar area. I guess we would have known this had we researched a little better, and not the end of the world. Lifts and hallways were a little tired/could have done with a hoover.

Great hotel, excellent attention to detail especially when it comes to children. We loved our stay!! The negatives - room slightly rundown in places, but still beautiful. Parking is expensive (~£70pn) and it’s a bit of a hassle if you have a pram or need accessibility. However, i would still stay here again!

My friend and I stayed here for a quick stay in London and loved it! The staff was super friendly, the room was great, the restaurant and gym on site were awesome. We also really loved this area of London. Highly recommend!

Loved our stay at the Ampersand. The hotel is conveniently located just steps from S. Kensington tube station. The rooms were tasteful though the carpeting seemed old. Staff were excellent as was the science-themed afternoon tea and room service. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Excellent location, quiet room, good air conditioning, very clean. I just wish the staff was a bit friendlier. It would be nice to be greeted when you pass a bellman or the front desk. But that aside, I’d stay there again.

An amazing stay at The Ampersand. From check-in to check-out the staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. The location was excellent for my stay being only a short walk from South Kensington tube. Despite the location, the room was quiet and no noise disturbed my stay. The room was modern, spacious and very comfortable; the free snacks and soft drinks provided was an excellent touch. The large bathroom with rainfall shower and double ended bath were both excellent and the bed and bedding comfortable. Overall, I couldn’t fault any aspect of my stay, with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff being a highlight.

The Ampersand is a lovely hotel in a fabulous neighborhood with the convenience of the tube, shopping, museums, and restaurants right at your doorstep. I liked this hotel for its charm and because it doesn't feel like a chain hotel. The rooms were quiet at night, the temperature is adjustable, the bed was very comfortable, the shower had excellent water pressure, and the towels were plush. Overall, a wonderful stay and a hotel I would highly recommend.

My initial room was the tiniest hotel room I can remember being in ("sit on the bed to use the desk" tiny; "touch the bed from almost anywhere in the room" tiny). I asked to be relocated as soon as I checked in, and I was immediately moved to a much larger but slightly dated room. The rest of the stay was great (staff, service, restaurant - all excellent) and I would definitely stay again. Not sure how many rooms there are that tiny, but I would definitely make sure I pay detailed attention to the room photos and ask ahead, next time.

An amazing stay at The Ampersand. From check-in to check-out the staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. The location was excellent for my stay being only a short walk from South Kensington tube. I made a reservation for 2 rooms and requested early check in if possible. I understand if it is not. However we were checked in by 2 different agents and my friend was told her room was vacant and would have priority when cleaned while I would need to wait until 2 pm. My friend headed out but after a rest room visit I spoke up politely that I made the reservation and requested early check in, not her (she doesn t care so much about showering ). We did not need rooms near each other which I said. After I spoke up agent said ok both rooms available at 11:30. I went down to breakfast and when I came up the bellman said he was looking for me as my room was ready. So it worked out but I’d read such good things about the hotel and this left a bad taste in my mouth over their preference for my friend when I booked the hotel for both. Otherwise the stay was great.

Stayed at this hotel before and had a pleasant stay. This time I prepaid Stay was fine, however after checking out, the hotel took full payment, meaning I paid twice. On calling the hotel the first words were- can you send an email, no was the answer. the receptionist tried to justify taking the payment was hotel policy!! Nothing mentioned when checking in, if indeed this is hotel policy then be warned, you will pay twice and then told you have to wait for an unauthorised charge to be refunded in 5 days! Not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel?

The whole staff is beyond accommodating. The outstanding level of kindness from everyone, From the first moment we stepped in to the Ampersand Hotel was the winning factor for me. My stay was a true joy!! And it really made our vacation exceptional this is what makes this Hotel the best!! Not only a beautiful hotel, and the best restaurant in Kensington. The food was the best quality and taste. But the staff truly made it pleasurable for us in every way possible. We could not wait to get back to the hotel after a long day and evening exploring London. Thank you, Katarina. What a grand Vacation.

We choose the Ampersand for a 4 night couple trip to London. Outstanding hotel, with a very friendly and accommodating staff. Everything was first class, very satisfied. Location is excellent just a short walk to the South Kensington Tube station makes getting anywhere in London a breeze. Highly recommended.

We stayed for just one night and experienced great customer service including a room upgrade and complimentary champagne. Stylish room and bathroom, everything very well appointed and comfortable. In the morning we chose to have breakfast at a local café, of which there are several, but this was a mistake as the quality just wasn’t good and the prices were the same as at The Ampersand. Great location for the museums, French Consulate and à just a few paces from South Kensington tube station.

Fantastic hotel in a great location to explore London. South Kensington station 1 min walk which is on tube lines to most central London attractions and shopping. Hotel was in excellent condition and staff friendly and attentive. Some great traditional pubs nearby and not forgetting to mention V & A and Natural History museum minutes away. Will always be our hotel when we visit London!!
