Excellent location. The hotel offers very spacious rooms with excellent rooftop, restaurant and jazz bar. Staff was very friendly. We walked everywhere from this location.

Chic hotel with stylish rooms, cozy beds and a killer rooftop restaurant. This hotel is impeccably clean, with luxe toiletries—Le Labo—and well-priced parking directly across the street. The location also can’t be beat—less than 20 blocks in each direction of major hot spot neighborhoods.

Very disappointed. We were excited to try this hotel for the first time as we visit NYC frequently. After checking in, we were told the the rooftop bar and restaurant would be unavailable for our stay. They didn't tell us in advance or before we checked in. So, our plans to meet friends and have dinner on the rooftop were cancelled. We wouldn't have stayed had we known.. They were sneaky in not telling us. The gym is a closet with a tiny window. If a nice gym is important, this place is not for you. The downstairs restaurant was very nice and the food was good. Recommended. The room was a little tired and very dark. Our sink leaked on the floor each time it was used. But the room was acceptable, just not impressive.

We enjoyed our stay at the refinery overall. The location in the garment district close to Bryant Park is very central and is a good base for getting around Manhattan to see all that the city has to offer. Our Atelier suite was spacious and well furnished in keeping with the image of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was extremely powerful. The downside to this facility is that the on site restaurant, the jazz bar and the rooftop bar & eatery are operated by a separate company and whilst they are in theory available for use by guests at any time, the volume of private functions in the three locations means that access was very limited, particularly from 4pm onwards. You were able to visit these areas as guests but unless you had pre-booked a table you would be lucky to be able to stand in the bar areas at best. In mitigation the hotel offered free wine tasting to guests between 5-7pm each day which was nice, but as the leisure spaces were generally in use, the only place to enjoy this free drink was a tiny seating area adjacent to the reception desk. On balance a worthwhile hotel to stay at whilst in New York, but just don't expect as a guest to be able to use the onsite hospitality without booking ahead and then cross your fingers that they haven't reserved the area for the day for a private function.

the rooms are very comfortable, staff is extremely friendly, a little complicated about accessing the rooftop, some type of priority should be given to guests. Fitness room is small, but well equipped, the water for the distributor was hot and there were no tissues. All in all, we enjoyed opur stay very much, they sent up everything we asked for in a very timely manner.

We loved the roof top bar and the Jazz Bar downstairs. Great cocktails and lots of fun! Buzzy ambiance. The breakfast diner connected to the hotel was a bit disappointing - no ability to make coffee - and the limited food options could be improved upon- but there are a million places to eat in NYC and this hotel is in a Great Spot. The electrical outlets in our room were a bit old and finnicky too - but it is a historic old building so we just dealt with it. Overall, we Loved the hotel and our trip to NYC!

Sadly we were disappointed with this hotel. The room wasn’t available for check in at 3pm and when we were finally given a key, we found our room was being used as storage for other guests luggage. Mini bar fridge door didn’t close and the snack drawer was thick with dust. We were looking forward to this stay and spent a lot of money but it’s unfortunate we did not receive a five star experience. The location, however is great - right in the centre of midtown.

The rooms were spacious, location was great, comfy beds! The only issue was housekeeping, the floors and baseboards were dusty and it didn’t seem the room or bathroom were vacuumed. The lobby bathrooms were very dirty and almost unusable upon arrival. However, we got early check in and were happy with our room and stay. Just needs some housekeeping attention.

We stayed here in 2018 and it was a nice, new boutique hotel. This stay shows signs of age. The rooms need a deep clean. The couch in the room had numerous stains so we were not comfortable sitting on it. They need to keep the property up I order to pass it off as a 5star. It’s barely a 3.5 sta in the condition it is in and the rates they are charging.

This was a perfect location, big rooms, an adorable jazz bar AND a rooftop bar that was very cozy in the middle of January! Walkability to Time Square, Bryant Park but also feels neighborly with Zucker bagels and some delicious cookie place across the street.

The staff, furnishings and area is excellent. However the hotel is loud and not soundproofed well. I was on the 5th floor and friends were on the 9th and 10th. We all had noises keeping us up all night from the bar and the plumbing.

We splurged on the Deluxe 2 Queen Room -- it had more space for my wife and kids. The room was spacious, well-appointed and had 5-6 floor to ceiling windows. Beautiful place. The location was excellent.

Great hotel and a fantastic location. Staff are miserable. Just don’t seem to have the right attitude. Not just one, but quite a few. Doormen and receptionists mostly. I think they need a training course on customer service and what it means. This might get them off their phones! Lovely Jazz bar but even the residents have to pay $25 dollars entry fee. Shame

The hotel has a cool vibe. Nice very high ceilings so feels spacious. The free wine every afternoon is fantastic and was a nice treat coming back from a long day of exploring (with a 5 year old). The rooms could use some TLC - not too bad just some areas that could use a deeper clean, a touch up of paint or a bead of caulking. Generally staff was fantastic. The exception was the rooftop restaurant where staff were short and uninterested when my wife and child went for diner while I worked. They have a (funky) rooftop and a main floor restaurant. It would be helpful for the hotel to advise future guests to make a reservation beforehand or you won't get a table at a reasonable time (my wife had to eat at 5pm). Shower was big and had nice pressure. Beds were a little soft for us but that's more a personal preference. The location was great with short walks to many attractions and subways. Being close to 6th ave means a fair bit of traffic and emergency vehicles. Not a fault of the hotel NYC is just noisy. It did get quieter as it got later - don't feel we were woken up by noise though.

Another stay at our favorite NYC hotel! Highly recommend. Easy to walk to Times Square, Madison Square Garden, and close to subway stops as well. Such a beautiful hotel; and the staff is so kind.

We used to like staying here but unfortunately we won't be back. They have no one to help with your luggage, no front door person or if they do they were not there. And even when we left they front desk gentleman that wasn't helping anyone else as the lobby was completely empty, when we departed left us to deal with all 4 pieces on our own and didn't even offer to open the door. Toilet was running the entire time as well. We used to like staying here but unfortunately we won't be back. They have no one to help with your luggage, no front door person or if they do they were not there. And even when we left they front desk gentleman that wasn't helping anyone else as the lobby was completely empty, when we departed left us to deal with all 4 pieces on our own and didn't even offer to open the door. Toilet was running the entire time as well. Hotel was great - we were celebrating a birthday and anniversary and it was lovely this was recognised by the hotel with our room being trimmed and little gifts. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and all very welcoming. Great location and loved the rooftop bar. We would definitely consider staying again on future trips to NYC. Nice room with large comfortable bed and great bathroom. The view wasn’t great but we hadn’t paid for a room with a view.

When we arrived the staff at the front desk were so pleasant & friendly. We were celebrating a birthday. They gave us a bottle of wine, (our choice) & upgraded us to a suite! Accommodations were perfect… clean, good size, comfortable beds & bedding. They sent me a text stating… text them 24/7 if there was anything at all that we needed.We did text them a couple of different times & they got back to us immediately! Had brunch at Rooftop Restaurant, it was delicious! We have already told friends…. This is our new place to stay when in NYC from now on! It was perfect across the board!👍

Refinery hotel is in an excellent location. It is steps to Bryant Park and an easy walk to all the mid town attractions. The Hotel itself is great. The rooms are a good size by NY standards with a good bed and beautiful washrooms. The lobby bar was great. My wife and I made a reservation Friday night to have a drink and listen to live music. The band was great and the drinks were generously poured. The roof top is fun. Make sure to make a reservation as it is very busy. The truffle fries are a must. Unfortunately, not all of the entire roof was open and it appreared the hotel is doing some work to the patio. It was still great. We found the hotel staff to be courteous and friendly. It was nice to be greeted when we came back from enjoying the city.

Great location, 9 min walk to Times Square, 4 min walk to Bryant Park. Rooftop very nice and warm during winter! Rooms spacious compared to other rooms in NYC. Live jazz at the bar near the lobby is a plus. We will probably come back again.

The hotel has a cool vibe. Nice very high ceilings so feels spacious. The free wine every afternoon is fantastic and was a nice treat coming back from a long day of exploring (with a 5 year old). The rooms could use some TLC - not too bad just some areas that could use a deeper clean, a touch up of paint or a bead of caulking. Generally staff was fantastic. The exception was the rooftop restaurant where staff were short and uninterested when my wife and child went for diner while I worked. They have a (funky) rooftop and a main floor restaurant. It would be helpful for the hotel to advise future guests to make a reservation beforehand or you won't get a table at a reasonable time (my wife had to eat at 5pm). Shower was big and had nice pressure. Beds were a little soft for us but that's more a personal preference. The location was great with short walks to many attractions and subways. Being close to 6th ave means a fair bit of traffic and emergency vehicles. Not a fault of the hotel NYC is just noisy. It did get quieter as it got later - don't feel we were woken up by noise though.

The hotel is great. The top floor bar - the host was very awkward. Half the tables were empty (8pm Sunday night) but I wasn't allowed to sit and have a drink - had to stand at the bar! Pathetic. The breakfast is ok but the host in there, a little rotund fella was once again miserable. I fail to see why I have to give my phone number to get a table at breakfast! Weird.

We enjoyed our stay at the refinery overall. The location in the garment district close to Bryant Park is very central and is a good base for getting around Manhattan to see all that the city has to offer. Our Atelier suite was spacious and well furnished in keeping with the image of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was extremely powerful. The downside to this facility is that the on site restaurant, the jazz bar and the rooftop bar & eatery are operated by a separate company and whilst they are in theory available for use by guests at any time, the volume of private functions in the three locations means that access was very limited, particularly from 4pm onwards. You were able to visit these areas as guests but unless you had pre-booked a table you would be lucky to be able to stand in the bar areas at best. In mitigation the hotel offered free wine tasting to guests between 5-7pm each day which was nice, but as the leisure spaces were generally in use, the only place to enjoy this free drink was a tiny seating area adjacent to the reception desk. On balance a worthwhile hotel to stay at whilst in New York, but just don't expect as a guest to be able to use the onsite hospitality without booking ahead and then cross your fingers that they haven't reserved the area for the day for a private function.

The room was large and comfortable. I loved everything, the only downside was the room service/ restaurant, they didn’t pickup the phone and when i called the reception they told me to come downstairs to order… other than that, the area is close to everything, I enjoyed my stay!

We loved the roof top bar and the Jazz Bar downstairs. Great cocktails and lots of fun! Buzzy ambiance. The breakfast diner connected to the hotel was a bit disappointing - no ability to make coffee - and the limited food options could be improved upon- but there are a million places to eat in NYC and this hotel is in a Great Spot. The electrical outlets in our room were a bit old and finnicky too - but it is a historic old building so we just dealt with it. Overall, we Loved the hotel and our trip to NYC!

Staff was very friendly. Convenient location. Environment and vibe was wonderful. The rooms had a beautiful theme but the floors we're noticeably in need of cleaning and the rug a little worn and sticky. I would stay there again.
