Hotel Tonnelle New Orleans, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Shower door was not installed properly, so water would get all over the bathroom while showering. Not only was there no water bottles in the room, they did not even sell them in the lobby! All ice machines were not working except for one. Only one of the two elevators worked. Finally, no self parking was available, so I had to pay for valet everyday!

The place is in the middle of a major renovation. I feel like they should have closed for awhile. No bar, one elevator, horrible fumes. Guys working on Sunday. The place WILL be great, But I guess they really needed the cash flow and couldn't afford to close.

They gym is not as advertised. The machines are broken and there are no free weights. Very misleading.

Good property and staff, but renovation left only one working elevator.

Great location to watch Mardi Gras parades. Nice restaurant and bar on site too.

I wasn’t a big of the location since need to Uber every time I would have preferred a hotel near French quarter or convention center But garden district area is nice for a walk but didn’t feel safe much walking along by myself Rooms are spacious no WiFi though in some rooms and I was moved to one to catch the signal Gym is small need an upgrade not many machines

Very pleased with this hotel for the price. Nice clean room, a gym, and the street car stop is right outside. Only thing I would have preferred is an included breakfast. Excellent stay though.

Hotel Tonnelle was our last stop during our NOLA trip from Dallas. We often stay at AirBnBs, but elected to end in a hotel so we could check our luggage. We were able to get a later check out confirmed by the front desk and utilize checking our luggage while we went to Magazine St and spent the last hours shopping before our flight. The late check out was confirmed by the front desk but somehow housekeeping kept knocking our door even while we had the DND on the knob. The first knock was at 9:30, again at 11:00 and then again at 11:50. Our checkout was at 12:00 PM. It would have been ideal if housekeeping honored the late checkout as we kept our side of the agreement by leaving at noon. The fixtures of the room were great! Love the decor, layout and overall feel to the room. We did notice there were no fridge and limited towel upon check-in. Look forward to reserving another stay with you all again.

This will be a nice hotel once the renovation is completed but we should have been told that the hotel was in the middle of this project before we booked. The room was nice and clean, staff members were very pleasant and responsive, and the small restaurant and bar was nice. But the lobby and outdoor seating shown on the website were not available. And sharing the one tiny elevator with construction teams and materials all day was a problem. The hotel should place a note on the website indicating the renovation.

Disgusting, mold everywhere

We had no idea that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment and/or that some rooms had already been refurbished which we heard from other residents had serious issues anyway. Ours definitely had not been refurbished. The state of the bed headboard was hidden at first by the pillows and we were quite shocked when we saw it. The housekeeping was poor, had to ask three times one day for the bed to be made, some incorrect coffee pods given (they were for a different coffee making system) and the only way we could get water into the coffee machine was by squashing a paper cup to provide a kind of spout. Pouring from a glass resulted in 'water everywhere'. The rug was not cleaned once during the whole week. The door to the bathroom was so bad that I was unable to to get out of there one time and an engineer had to be called, thank goodness my husband was with me. The TV only worked on a couple of channels, someone came and told us it was caused by the storm and he would come come and adjust it. He never came back. Various food items were unavailable on both the breakfast and the one time that we ate in the evening. Toast was always cold. Despite the apology for there only being one lift, it was frustrating trying to share it with workers who were moving large items and making it unavailable. The breakfast servers were really lovely and very helpful. Lady at Reception was cold and indifferent and more interested in her phone than the residents.

(Another employee even giggled when I startled the video watcher after waiting for her to notice my presence) The room was in need of a good cleaning (dirty dishes left outside the door when I checked in, urine stains on the bathroom floor, worn linens and stains on curtains). Room wasn’t cleaned during my stay, but returned to find evidence that someone had been in my room while I was away. This property has promise, but only if they improve their customer service.

The hotel is ok, like any inn, it has a weird smell to it, staff is not friendly but neither rude, there was a hoop earring in the shower drain from a previous guest, so that definitely tells you it isn’t cleaned properly, bed was annoyingly noisy, every time you turned or moved it had a loud thump to it, I could hear ihe noise in the bathroom every time my husband moved. Location is great, for an good price stay here but it’s not worth it for an average hotel price.

Very clean hotel

A group of us stayed here during an event at Tulane as recommended by the university. The elevator reeked of pot. The first room I was given had such a strong odor of mold that my eyes and nose began running due to allergies and the furniture was worn and tattered. The second room was somewhat better as far as the smell goes but the furniture was still worn and tattered. I woke up the second morning with pink eye from the pillow cases. Another guest told me they found blood on the sheets and comforter and housekeeping had to strip the bed and remake it. Another guest told me that the hallway of the floor they were on smelled like urine. I’ve never stayed at a hotel as filthy as this one, ever! I won’t ever stay there again.

I would definitely come back & stay here again the next time I come in. The staff was super friendly & the hotel is so beautiful. The valet parking was super speedy & housekeeping was wonderful. Everything was perfect

The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The property is spotless, and the expansive lobby has plenty of places where family and friends can gathrr.

You have to ask multiple times for the room to be cleaned.

Great location. Quiet. Hallway very worn down with bad smell and broken glass on floor for a long time. Room door was open when we arrived.

Great location for a quieter, yet still convenient visit to New Orleans. Step out the door and onto a streetcar. Rooms were large and the customer service was consistently stellar. Bed was comfortable if squeaky.

The room was clean and beautiful and the staff were outstanding. The only issue I encountered was my wi-fi connection, from my room and in the lobby/restaurant. The area has some really great restaurants within walking distance. The streetcar has a stop right in front of the hotel. The Hop on/off line also runs here. My only concern was night time because I was solo travelling (no fault of the hotel/ the hotel grounds were always safe). I will likely book this hotel again on future trips when my activities are in this area.

Nice hotel for quick stay in New Orleans. Large quiet room and large bath right on St. Charles. Super comfortable bed and nice linens at a good rate.

Absolutely loved the decor of this hotel- it really is the nicest we have stayed at on our trip and the rooms are gorgeous. The staff was exceptional and helped us with everything we needed from directions to places to eat. I will absolutely stay here again when in the area and would recommend Hotel Tonnelle to anyone who asks!

Nice decor, felt clean. Didn’t have a fridge or microwave which was an inconvenience. Overall okay stay.

The property has a lovely lobby and nice decor but a lot of things in the room itself didn't work. The first room had no mirror and was close to the elevator which kept us up most of the night with its beeping. We moved to a better room with a mirror but the toilet overflowed/didn't flush propery, the coffee maker had nowhere to be plugged in, the mirror spun around and didn't stay still.

It is a nice hotel, but the wireless on the upper floors was non existent. The staff was super nice and friendly and the location was convenient.

I loved that our room had a view of the city skyline. However, the staff weren't unfriendly they just seemed overworked or short staffed. I tried to go out at night and the area around the hotel felt a little unsafe, but I know that goes with the territory in New Orleans. I would go back, but would probably just go out during the day time. I would stay here again! It is right on the St Charles Ave and close enough to walk to Magazine St and shops

The rooms are nice, beds comfy, breakfast is decent. You will have to pay for parking, limited, also a temporary incidental charge as well. Reasonable only reason not five star no microwave or refrigerator in the rooms. Enjoyed the stay.

Beautiful hotel with convenience to transit. Rooms are a great size and stylish and updated. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio!

The staff were friendly & beyond helpful! The check in process was fast, our room was clean & comfortable, valet parking was easy to access. 10/10 for sure!!

The day I checked out, the valet was screaming at me. He said I have “an attitude” when I was just trying to load my own bags into my car. He was so rude and threatening “don’t you even start”. All I said was I’m loading my things and I’m leaving. I will never come back here.

This was a wonderful stay! The front desk attendant Jonathon was beyond helpful, accommodating, and ready to welcome you like family. The room was so beautiful and clean and had anything you could need. The street was full of restaurants and bars making it super easy to walk to food and drinks. Such a great stay!!

The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are perfect. They have blackout curtains, walk in shower. Everything you could ask for and more. Valet was extremely fast.

Overall it was a gorgeous hotel room. Unfortunately, they are very short staffed. Because of that they do not have the front desk properly staffed in the evening. The phone just rings and rings and rings. Additionally, they haven’t updated their website to show that they currently don’t offer room service. Also, the menu online for the hotel restaurant does not state that they don’t have those items currently. Finally, when I paid to valet park my car - the car was brought to me smelling or marijuana.

Candy was extremely friendly. There were rude patrons that came in being extremely rude, and she was waiting on us and continued helping us and told them they were gonna have to wait.She was helping us, and she took her time fully helping us. EVERY TIME WE SEEN HER, SHE WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND REMEMBERED OUR NAMES. We will stay here on our next couples trip.

The front desk staff (Ms. Keyanna and Candy) were absolutely wonderful; very friendly, helpful, and professional. Though to be honest, all of the staff I encountered during my stay was Amazing. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. This is my first stay, will definitely return. This is now top on my list for an upcoming group event. 👏

Stayed for concert. Only 1.4 miles from superdome. Great area… plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops around

I enjoyed everything about my stay at Hotel Tonnelle. It’s located in an area where you can walk and the trolly runs right in front the hotel if you prefer public transportation. The area is safe. The hotel staff was excellent and the valet staff were also very helpful. The breakfast at their bar was really good and the lobby was really cute.

Great location

The location of the hotel is fantastic for families or those not wanting to stay in the French Quarter. Not much noise and still convenient to everything you might need. The room is very nice for the price.

Perfect room, perfect environment, great bar! Clean room, and right by St. Charles Steetcar!

Street car line is directly out front. So easy to go back and forth to French Quarters. Take the walk to nearby Magazine Street and see all the beautiful houses. Plus, lots of nice places to eat, have a drink, shop on Magazine Street.

This is a property in transition. They are managing the renovations well and we were not bothered. The rooms & bathrooms were spacious and well appointed. We had a really nice view from our 7th floor windows. The bar & restaurant are limited but we had a tasty dinner and hearty breakfast. Staff was friendly & helpful. Would recommend, a great value.

Beautiful clean hotel. Anna the restaurant manager at Seventeen FT was excellent! She always went above and beyond. Please give her a raise!! All staff was excellent. I enjoyed the customer service and will definitely be back on my next visit to Nola :)

Hotel was updated, spacious and with a fun vibe/ Location is great, right on the St. Charles streetcar line. and an easy walk to Magazine St. We even walked back to the hotel from the French Quarter in a half hour. The food in the restaurant was excellent for breakfast - great menu and well-executed. Laura was especially attentive and friendly, and remembered my coffee order after the very first morning. Dinner was just okay -- not as spectacular as breakfast but convenient. We will definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel for the price and close proximity to downtown/canal st. Friendly and helpful staff. Ice machine ran out a few times and there’s no waitstaff service to the outdoor seating area. All in all; a pretty good stay.

Great location. Trolley right across the street, breakfast sandwich and selection was very good, not too busy, responsive staff, beautiful decor, etc. Theu did not have an extra toothbrush at the time so I dinged them one for service.
