Lord Nelson is conveniently located and a goods rest stop. grounds at the back suitable for dogs, it is next door to and A&W and well stocked convenience store. We spent 2 nights there to repack our RV before returning to Toronto - it was perfect.

Drove to Kingston for work - should have been back within a day. However this "2.5" star motel was so clean, quite, perfect location, massive back yard, beautiful view and extremely well lit parking lot in the evening ; which for a general contractor and a master electrician (my wife) means a great deal for our tools and material. Toss all that in with it being dog friendly, beside a brand new circle k, gas station, a&w (though I don't really like a&w lol) with nobody around we decided to stay 3 nights instead of one. I have stayed in 4 star motels that were not as well kept nor the staff as friendly. Price was on point as well. Next time I am in Kingston I will be back.

It may look like a dive on the outside but they have made the rooms very comfortable and stylish. Would stay again for sure. Loved the ease of having my dog there and going in and out of a private entrance without having to navigate hallways like other hotels

Parking free right outside your room. Easy on and off the 401. Room clean, older unit but well kept. Could barely hear the bumps and muffled sounds from the adjoining room. Train goes by close to motel but no whistle after 11pm.

Check in was easy and pleasant. This is an older motel, so it is basic and dated, but there have been some upgrades to the rooms. I am only in a room to sleep, so the most important to me is cleanliness, and my room was very clean. I would say it is good value for money if you just want a clean room to sleep in. I would stay here again.

Its cheap for a reason.. stucco peeling from the ceiling, bugs and stuff stuck in the corners of the ceiling, old musty smell.. Gas station and A&W next door is nice.

It being an older hotel, we were surprised...it was well maintained and clean, inside and out. Nice area to sit and relax outside. I am fussy about cleanliness and a clean bed... definitely would give this hotel..again, yes it is an older hotel..a 5

Stayed 2 nights and was surprised to return after a day out to see the towels washed, the place vacuumed and cleaned. The cleaner replenished all supplies (soap, shampoo, coffee, milk and two chocolates!). Very rare these days to get such great service. The cleaner also positioned the two toys we had brought with us at the top of the bed - which made us smile. It’s the little things that make the difference. And here they make a difference. Five stars for cleaning crew. The king bed was very comfortable. They provide a table with two chairs for dining and a microwave and small fridge with a real freezer. Above all - it’s pet friendly!

The place was spotlessly clean, the location was good. There's a Circle K and an A&W next door - where we also got great service. The front garden is a nice place to sit with your coffee and listen to the birds.

Nice old style motel. Has been renovated but doors were hard to shut tight and could see outside light coming in. Didn’t feel super secure. Nice size room, busy road so could be louder for sleeping the AC running blocked to noise nicely.

Very cute, clean place but please change the beds! They are the most uncomfortable thing i have ever tried to sleep on. Felt like a board. It's a shame since the motel itself is nice and clean. Back deck needs an overhaul. Railing unsafe, only 1 chair and the view is pretty junky looking.

Professional and friendly reception staff. The place feels like it was built in the 1950's but it is roomy, with nice TV, very good WiFi, spacious room. Doors and locks from 1950's, but you get good value for money.

For the price it was good, convenient location just off the 401, country side atmosphere. The balcony is outdated, railing not safe for kids, the door to balcony in my room wouldnt stay shut, chainlock kept it shut.

Been here before as it is close to family. Bedroom space big but bathroom on small size. Wish they would get new A/C units as they are louder than most hotels. Also watch the old-time lock in the door handle as you may think you locked it but you did not. A&W just across the parking lot and great for breakfast.

The room was fine for 1 night. The air conditioner will keep you awake as it cycles on and off but if it isn't on the traffic noise from the highway will certainly disturb your sleep.

The facilities were completely satisfactory for the price. About three or four hours after leaving the hotel, I received a phone call asking me if a car key which had been found on the ground in front of my room happened to be mine. I had already notice that the key was missing and was very pleased that they would make the effort to contact me just to check if it was mine. Since I was already a couple hundred kilometers away, I asked if they could mail the key to me, and they happily agreed. When I asked them how I could pay for the postage, they told me not to worry about that. What fantastic customer service!

I wasn't able to get to the hotel due to severe weather warnings. They agreed to change the date to next week. I think that is great customer service. One of the many reasons I highly recommend staying at Lord Nelson Motel in Kingston

Cute, cosy and clean room. All that we needed for a perfect stay. Our hosts Raphael and Franziska were very attentive to our requests. Proximity of the motel to Kingston made it a recommendable stay.

Good quality for the price but very close to highway 40l. Our windows were closed and the truck traffic was constant all night and it was noisy. On a warm night, you would never be able to sleep if you had your windows open. There was an air conditioning unit in the outside wall, but they can also be noisy.

You get what you pay for. This was definitely an old motel with the smell of cigarettes from years gone by. The room was large and clean and the front office staff helpful. It is far from downtown and the surrounding area unattractive. But it was far cheaper than the downtown hotels a 15 minute drive away.

Stayed the night enroute to Montreal. It is located just off 401, and while there is some traffic noise, the convenience of the location makes up for it. A gas station and an attached 24 hour convenience store door is great, especially when arriving late at night. Rooms were basic, neat and clean, with a Kurtis machine and cable TV. We will definitely recommend this motel.

Good value for the money. Room was clean and you couldn’t hear any noise from the Hwy even though the property was directly off the 401. Just needed somewhere to sleep for the night. There is an A&W next door to get a quick bite. Would probably stay here again on my way through.
