Unfortunately we wasn’t told that we would be staying in a hotel across the road from the main hotel and then have to walk across to main hotel each morning for breakfast. Bathroom is the most tiniest I have ever seen , shower cubicle just about fitted you in and the shower head didn’t fit into the holder so you had to hold it to shower. Receptionist was a pleasant chap but would not book this hotel again for a stay in London

First, this place has no lifts, and they offered me no assistance in taking 2 suitcases and a backpack up 4-5 flights of stairs to my room. My sleep was disrupted several times during my stay - you could hear vehicles' motors, and each metal piece they ran over on the street, clearly from my 4th floor room. I could also hear much of what was going on in the next room through the wall. The bathroom is ridiculously small - I had to maneuver around the sink just to use the toilet, and again to get into the shower. The shower is quite small - I'm 6 ft. tall with wider shoulders, and kept the door open for showering because I could barely get around otherwise. Breakfast was good, but they ended service at 8 am or something and wouldn't let me have it the second day. What 3 star hotel ends breakfast at 8 am?! The front desk is in another building across the street. You have to ring the bell to be allowed in. While the young man at the desk was polite, it was extremely disappointing that they don't provide the guests disposable razors or shaving kits. Again, what 3 star hotel doesn't provide those?

Our stay at Balmoral House Hotel was great. It was centrally located close to the trains and buses. The staff was friendly and helpful. They went extra helpful when we needed an early breakfast. We didn't rent a car, but in this location, it wasn't really necessary. Be aware though, that there is no elevator.

Very likeable hotel. Your typical Victorian townhouse conversion with small rooms and steep, narrow staircase. But despite my single room being small, it was good. Bathroom was compact, but was new, clean and very functional. Small cosy breakfast room in the basement. Hotel staff was particularly helpful and nice. The location of the hotel is also brilliant, being a short walk from either Paddington station, Lancaster Gate/Hyde Park and Edgware Road.

The location was very convenient and the room and stair way areas were all very clean. We hadn't realised we would be on the 4th floor and one of us was nearly 80! Breakfast was passable, more options for cereals would be appreciated, though there was fresh fruit. For London, good value accommodation

A quite and family feeling place to stay! this hotel is really nice, quite place and amazing position just 5 minute walk from Paddington railway station and subway. several resturant, tavern and pub, near the othel, Just note that rooms are divided in 2 budings one in front the other (you just have to cross the street) and breckfast is served only in the principal one,therefore if you want more confort, remember to ask to be placed in main building. Also note there is no lift, we were at 4th floor, not so difficult but depend on your mobility. All the staff was really kind and helpful

There are actually two hotels opposite one another on either side of the street, we stayed in the second Hotel which was fine, nice, clean rooms and more spacious rooms than many places I have stayed in in London. There are no staff on hand, other than cleaners, in the second Hotel.. reception, breakfast etc is in the main Hotel, but none of those things actually mattered. Breakfast ends quite early though and we never made it.....

Two good things to say about this hotel are the location and the beds. Both super and worth 5 stars! :) However, the breakfast is not worth mentioning, it ends already at 8:30 am and there is not seats enough for all guests (so allow time to wait). The staff are kind, but seems too busy, as they wait staring at you eating, ready to clean the table the second you have put the empty glass there. The bed sheets were clearly washed and nice, but there were hairs on the pillow and sheet, and the carpet on the floor was not very clean. We found things under the beds, and a toenail from a former guest next to the night table. So we were not impressed by that. So if you are not demanding a clean room with a good breakfast, but just need a central place to sleep for a fair price, I can recommend this hotel.

I just wanted somewhere to sleep and to have breakfast conveniently located in town. The Balmoral did that but it is basic. The bed would have been too small had I been much above six foot. The toilet was uncomfortably cramped. It also smelled but I am unhygenic enough to do without a shower for one night. Breakfast was the best bit but there was a queue when I left the breakfast room.

Great location, very average hotel. Room was a good size but bathroom was tiny, could hardly use the toilet! Furniture dated and room very basic. Our stay was one to have a base and put our head down. Beds were comfortable, room was spacious. Breakfast was friendly service and very adequate, although 1st morning eggs were cold. Even though we ate breakfast in the hotel opposite it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. This was definitely value for money and was handy for transport, despite the strikes!

This is a great budget option. The room was small but did fit 2 adults and 3 kids fine (we only used it as a base to sleep in - too busy out and about in London). Breakfast was basic but plenty for us. The shower and toilet were fitted into cupboards which was ok, but would have preferred a sink in with the toilet rather than having to go into the rooms to wash hands.

Location location location. We reserved a triple room but one of us had to return home early so there were only two of us. The room was TINY!! Not sure three of us would have been comfortable. It was tight for just two of us. But who visits London to sit in a hotel room!!! Less than a five minute walk to paddington station, a 19 minute walk to Hyde park, the location could not be beat.

This hotel was very close to Paddington and Paddington station to get the tram. staff was polite. If you get the big bus, the drop off is about one block away from hotel. The neightbor seemed safe. Room service came everyday to replenish sheets and coffee/tea. Breakfast finished at 8:30 which was a little inconvenient for our family. But at least they had breakfast. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Rooms were small but still could move around and bathrooms were even smaller. If a person doesn’t need the luxuries of a big tv, but want a safe place to stay. I would recommend Balimoral Hotel.

The room was as advertised, three twin beds. The towel bar as well as the toilet paper holder were semi-detatched from the wall and seemed like it would fall off. The shower head holder in the shower was broken so the shower head would fall with the slightest touch. The breakfast staff and the housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful, the front desk staff were abrupt and not particularly welcoming or helpful. The location is excellent for walking to the Paddington Station which is a central hub from the airport and other transportation lines.

When I read the "Excellent" reviews posted here, the first thing that comes to mind is that these reviews must be some how from people related to the owner. This is probably the worse property that we\'ve ever stayed!! The only thing good about this hotel is that it is conveniently located. Period. Ideal for a last minute booking. Great location. Quietish (inside the hotel was quiet), people walking by not so much so). I did manage to get a good nights sleep though. Breakfast as you’d like, no waste as they cook it to your preference and what you’d would like. Welcomed on the way in and received a goodbye on departure.

Very likeable hotel. Your typical Victorian townhouse conversion with small rooms and steep, narrow staircase. But despite my single room being small, it was good. Bathroom was compact, but was new, clean and very functional. Small cosy breakfast room in the basement. Hotel staff was particularly helpful and nice. The location of the hotel is also brilliant, being a short walk from either Paddington station, Lancaster Gate/Hyde Park and Edgware Road.

Two good things to say about this hotel are the location and the beds. Both super and worth 5 stars! :) However, the breakfast is not worth mentioning, it ends already at 8:30 am and there is not seats enough for all guests (so allow time to wait). The staff are kind, but seems too busy, as they wait staring at you eating, ready to clean the table the second you have put the empty glass there. The bed sheets were clearly washed and nice, but there were hairs on the pillow and sheet, and the carpet on the floor was not very clean. We found things under the beds, and a toenail from a former guest next to the night table. So we were not impressed by that. So if you are not demanding a clean room with a good breakfast, but just need a central place to sleep for a fair price, I can recommend this hotel.

This hotel was very close to Paddington and Paddington station to get the tram. staff was polite. If you get the big bus, the drop off is about one block away from hotel. The neightbor seemed safe. Room service came everyday to replenish sheets and coffee/tea. Breakfast finished at 8:30 which was a little inconvenient for our family. But at least they had breakfast. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Rooms were small but still could move around and bathrooms were even smaller. If a person doesn’t need the luxuries of a big tv, but want a safe place to stay. I would recommend Balimoral Hotel.

Be aware that , while the website says check in closes at 2300, it doesn’t state that means the reception isn’t staffed and therefore even if you have checked in before 1400 and there fore can’t get to your room, but plan to return after 2300 you will not be able to collect your room key! No air conditioning. Noisy fan supplied was ineffective. Quite noisy with window open with road traffic. However, room was clean and it was walking distance to our concert in Hyde Park.

I read reviews of the fourth floor w no elevator and figured I was fine with that. But holy cow. The stars into the top floor are like an attic. Nearly impossible to drag your suitcase up. Beds old, pillows flat, staff not very friendly. It was FINE. But was happy to leave.
