Candlewood Suites San Marcos by IHG

They were so rude when I arrived. There was a problem with checkin, and I had to talk to a manager to resolve it. I have never been spoken to so dismissively and rudely. When I got to my room, it was disgustingly dirty, and smelled like mold. The pool was out of commission. The ac was stuck on and wouldn’t turn off, it was a cold weekend. I requested maintenance come look, they never did. It was so cold in the room. There’s a little pantry where you can buy snacks, when I bought them there, the staff never even looked up from their phone to ring me up. The day before I checked out, I requested and paid for a late check out at 12:30 rather than 11am because I had a zoom meeting that I wanted to take in the room. I confirmed it with the front desk two times, once the morning before check out, and once the evening before check out. Housekeeping started banging on the door at 11am. I informed them of my approved late check out. They knocked again at 11:15, 11:30, and noon. I rescheduled the meeting and just left. I would not stay there again.

Room was clean, staff was very nice & helpful, check in was very easy. We called before booking to ask if there was a pool to give kids something to do… theres a pool but no water in it. Free coffee was good though!
