Lovely room, very spacious and with a large comfortable bed.Bathroom has an overhead rainfall shower and/or a handheld shower head. Shower tray was rather slippery when wet. There was a hairdryer provided but it only had cold air no hot air facitilty. The coffee, tea and biscuits were a nice touch as was the bottle of fresh milk in the fridge. Good size car park and we were able to park right outside our room.

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly — unfortunately, the hotel itself let the experience down. I originally stayed in Room 8 on the ground floor. After returning from dinner, I discovered the window wouldn’t close or lock. I reported this to the night staff, and one member of staff mentioned they were already aware of the issue and had previously called an engineer. I was offered an alternative room, but it was a downgrade and there was no offer of a price reduction. The new room (Room 15) was very small and had a large cobweb in the corner. The fridge was extremely noisy, sounding like a washing machine on spin, and the extractor fan ran constantly. I eventually had to turn off the isolator switch just to get some sleep, only to be woken at 4:45am by a delivery lorry outside. It’s a real shame because the bar area was clean and the food was amazing, but the hotel accommodation itself was very disappointing. Sadly, I wouldn’t stay here again
