Laundry room is only 2 machines and busy. Drying function is really poor, clothes come out wet. Staff are amazing. Lack of shower door is a bad idea, splashes out. Service is excellent. Great location, easy access to many sites, shopping, restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved this hotel. Rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable beds. Their hotel pajamas are the nicest ones in Japan! We had access to the lounge - afternoon coffee/tea and beautiful pastries included. Coffee machine serves a decent latte. Happy hour with free beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks. The cocktail bar has a great selection and the bartender took pride in his creation. Breakfast was good (choice of eggs).Would have liked to have a coffee machine that serves lattees at breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel. Great value.

Happy hour was great, front desk is helpful. Laundry room is too small, it was hard to find a time that it wasn’t occupied. The bath house was a nice experience. Room was good but car noise from the street was loud (4th floor). Overall would recommend this hotel.

I highly recommend this hotel. We had a wonderful stay. The staff is outstanding and helpful. The rooms are spacious, well supplied with all the amenities, comfortable beds, bathroom with shower and tub. The area is beautiful. We walked to several parts of town and also were a block away from the subway station. We enjoyed the tea time goodies and also the cocktail hour that was free of charge and had a great variety of drinks and snacks. I will certainly return to this amazing hotel.

This is a clean modern hotel in a convenient location. Reception staff are really friendly and helpful. Market, Palace, subway and gardens are a few minutes walk away. Bamboo forest is reached by catching a 63 bus next to the hotel and us a 40 minute journey costing yen 230 each way. Golden pavillion is reached by walking to the main park and catching a number 204 bus.Note the hotel is on a busy 8 lane road, which does get a lot quieter at night, but you can hear significant traffic noise from the rooms, which kept me awake. Breakfast is a bit disappointing. Small area and very limited choice. We had to wait 10 minutes for a table at 8:00 am. Coffee is just a big urn of Luke warm pre-brewed not very nice. No fruit teas, just regular. Fruit was fresh, and staff will make you freshly cooked eggs and onlets which was good. Club lounge is comfortable. Snacks were good quality. Alcoholic drinks are low quality, eg really bad Cava, non-premium gin, and a generic branded blended whisky. Coffee machine is nice to have, but no mint or fruit tea bags - just green teas. Overall this is not a bad hotel if you manage to get a quiet room round the back, but it was expensive - £250 a night in October, so not the best value for money.

The staff here was very kind and helpful. The location was also great. My only concerns were privacy within the room and mild dust. There was only a thin curtain separating the bathroom sinks and the clear, see-through glass window shower/bath area from the rest of the room.

Our room seemed clean but felt shabby-big spots on the beige carpet just as you entered. The best thing about the hotel was the lounge where (for no additional cost)you could get small nibbles, beer, wine champagne and soft drinks. It gave us a place to hang out & chat or play cards, other than our room. The included breakfast buffet was somewhat unappealing (bacon kept warm in some liquid) but you were also offered eggs made to order and these were good.

This is a beautiful hotel with the utmost consideration to detail and service. The staff provided excellent customer service, always with patience and smiles! The hotel is located within a comfortable walking distance to the train and subway, as well as the wonderful Nishiki Market. Being able to do laundry was a great convenience! I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

It’s a nice new hotel in convenient location, within walking distance to n attractions . We enjoy the free afternoon tea and evening drinks. One thing we don’t like it’s the shower room. It’s a see through glass. If you’re with a friend, it’ll be no privacy!

Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Lovely staff throughout the hotel. We stayed in a room with ‘no view’ but it had plenty of natural daylight and a window that opened. The room was a really good size, comfortable and very clean.The shower was spacious and modern. The hotel is close to the subway and within walking distance of many of the sights. Complimentary afternoon tea and evening drinks were a really nice touch. We are really glad we chose to stay here.

The hotel is well situated and clean but the staff barely speaks English. We had an issue with our room and we had tremendous difficulty communicating with them in order to rectify the situation. As well, this is not the fault of the hotel, but rather an Expedia issue which was misleading in its hotel description. It did say “no view” but it did not specify “no window”.

Great location with easy access to fascinating historical sites via nearby subway. A short walk to Nishiki Market. Attentive reception, lounge and dining room staff. Well appointed room with excellent bathtub. The only negatives were the lack of bedside tables and the motion sensor light in the toilet room which was a bit harsh for those midnight jaunts to the loo.

The room is a very modern style, which was quite nice. The room fronted the main street so it was noisy throughout the night. If you’re a light sleeper, you have to wear earplugs as you hear the traffic noise. We found the room clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was very good. If you like your omelettes more well done you have to ask for that as the omelettes tend to be a little more runny. If you want an espresso or a cappuccino, they’re more than happy to provide that as well. We had booked a room with lounge access. In most Japanese hotels that means not all hotel guests have that access. However, in this hotel, every person had that access to the exclusivity and relaxation was not quite the same. The first night we went to The Lounge. You are only given one appetizer consisting of three very small dishes. You had no choice in what you were given. That was very subpar. They did change it to a more traditional appetizer buffet style the next day, which was much more pleasant. They could improve the selection of the alcohol to more premium brands.

Staff goes up and beyond! I left my watch in our room so I called them. Housekeeping has it! Then they sent it to my hotel in Osaka and I received it overnight! I was really impressed! Convenient location and easy access to trains! Room is big. Will book here again when we comeback to Kyoto.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. The staff were brilliant and so helpful. Subway was right on our doorstep allowing easy links to kyoto station in 9 minutes. We went for a room with lounge access which is a must. Good selection of drinks tp help you unwind after exploring this lovely city. Lots of food places nearby including Nishiki market. We originally had a booking at the Hilton but so glad we changed our mind.

The staff at The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto were gracious, thorough and attentive. We routinely saw the staff at the check in desk walk the guests out and arrange transportation. We had their help as well. They helped us arrange luggage transport and finding our way to various spots . They answered questions and guided us whenever we needed help. They are generous in arranging various times of the day and evening for complimentary snack, sweets and cocktails. The restaurant served a deliciously prepared Japanese breakfast and although I’m sure their American breakfast is wonderful too, we were so glad to have opted for the Japanese. There is a mature yet open vibe to this hotel that stood out to us and set it apart. The hotel was quiet inside and a nice respite from long days of exploring the beauty and people of Kyoto. We left wishing we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back there. Thank you RPHIK for the wonderful stay. With gratitude and until next time….. Arigatogozaimasu❣️

We have a very unfortunate and unpleasant experience with staff from the front desk/reception area. The night prior we had trouble communicating with front desk and it took longer than normal to set up luggage delivery to our next destination (Osaka). The next day we arrived 1 hr prior to our Shinkansen departure to the hotel to pick up our belongings and asked front desk to request a taxi since it was pouring rain outside and we had multiple bags. The receptionist did not request a taxi when asked and made us sit and wait for nearly 20 minutes to tell us she was busy and it was a holiday and she had not yet requested the taxi. She did not inform us of anything until we got up and asked. She then told us we could take the subway which we were trying to avoid given the amount of bags we had and the rain situation. Suffice it to say we did not make it to the train station on time despite all the hoops we went to get there (including having to hail our own taxi). We missed our Shinkansen and the rest were sold out. We had to take a taxi to Osaka in order to not miss a booked event that was already paid for and we had to pay 120 dollars for the taxi there. We did not expect to have such poor service and no accountability at all. My husband and I really enjoyed staying in this property for our wedding anniversary/belated honeymoon. The moment we stepped in we felt so welcome. The lobby was gorgeous and the staff were so kind and helpful. Truly a super nice experience they even gifted us a handmade Japanese gift which we were so grateful for and will hold on for memories. The rooms were beautiful! Spacious and super clean. The bathroom was my favorite specially after a long day. The location was just perfect! We also enjoyed the lounge to sit back and relax. I have to say the staff did a phenomenal job with keeping everything perfect. I will definitely be coming back with friends so that they can experience how wonderful this hotel is. Well located hotel to get around from and very close to the subway. Appreciated the private lounge facility and the only hotel on our trip to Japan that offered gluten-free bread and clearly and outwardly displayed that they understood allergens. The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto is one of our favorite hotels in the world. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly and the hotel itself is immaculate. The rooms are spacious and elegantly appointed. The special afternoon tea is absolutely lovely and the evening refreshment time is relaxing and well enjoyed after a day spent walking all over Kyoto. If you want a special treat while in Japan, choose this hotel and I promise it will exceed all your expectations. It is just delightful!

Excellent value for money. Situated at the intersection of two subway lines, it is a good base for a visit to Kyoto. Room was spacious, modern and comfortable. This is a clean modern hotel in a convenient location. Reception staff are really friendly and helpful. Market, Palace, subway and gardens are a few minutes walk away. Bamboo forest is reached by catching a 63 bus next to the hotel and us a 40 minute journey costing yen 230 each way. Golden pavillion is reached by walking to the main park and catching a number 204 bus.Note the hotel is on a busy 8 lane road, which does get a lot quieter at night, but you can hear significant traffic noise from the rooms, which kept me awake. Breakfast is a bit disappointing. Small area and very limited choice. We had to wait 10 minutes for a table at 8:00 am. Coffee is just a big urn of Luke warm pre-brewed not very nice. No fruit teas, just regular. Fruit was fresh, and staff will make you freshly cooked eggs and onlets which was good. Club lounge is comfortable. Snacks were good quality. Alcoholic drinks are low quality, eg really bad Cava, non-premium gin, and a generic branded blended whisky. Coffee machine is nice to have, but no mint or fruit tea bags - just green teas. Overall this is not a bad hotel if you manage to get a quiet room round the back, but it was expensive - £250 a night in October, so not the best value for money.

Our room seemed clean but felt shabby-big spots on the beige carpet just as you entered. The best thing about the hotel was the lounge where (for no additional cost)you could get small nibbles, beer, wine champagne and soft drinks. It gave us a place to hang out & chat or play cards, other than our room. The included breakfast buffet was somewhat unappealing (bacon kept warm in some liquid) but you were also offered eggs made to order and these were good.

Everyday you have the same breakfast, you can choose between continental or traditional one but it is not a buffet breakfast. So it’s better have breakfast outside the hotel if you want to enjoy Japanese breakfast. That’s the reason why I don’t like this hotel pretty much.

Loved this hotel. Rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable beds. Their hotel pajamas are the nicest ones in Japan! We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very clean and large room at a great location close to the subway. Our room included breakfast which was a set menu but sufficient.
