The hotel and restaurant were great. What took it down for us was rhe pool. The hot tub was barely warm and the pool was cold. We stayed in one of the covered wagons, which was awesome and super cozy until the temps dropped to 19⁰ and it snowed. Nice little place though.

Overall I had a pleasant stay. The only disappointing aspect was the fact that the hot tub was out of service and I didn’t find out until I went to use it and saw the sign. It would have been nice to be told about it upon check in so I didn’t go in looking forward to a good soak only to be disappointed.

the properry was well maintained and clea on the outside. great amenities luke fire pit and pool, laundry and ice room was clean,but no soap in sink area, batheoom door would. not completely close and lock and breakfast buffet could had fruit and more options that were not hot entrees

This did the trick for my family of 4 for one night. Not sure we could’ve made more than that work well. The room was very clean, except it appeared the table hadn’t been wiped. The shower had better than average water pressure for a hotel, but the towels were thin and rough - great for exfoliating my skin! The hotel does have electric vehicle charging so we were able to charge overnight. It is not free, though. We ate at the onsite restaurant and that was good! Hearty portions and good flavor. View from the room was beautiful. Bed was comfortable, but pillows were kind of hard and flat. Only one small ledge for bedside items between the beds.

The setting for this property is absolutely stunning and so peaceful. It has a very fun western feel. The staff is very nice and the food is great. My only negative was on the EV charging. Last time I went it was free and now it's priced around 3 times higher than a Tesla supercharger. $30 for 144 miles. Also, I had to share a charger with another car which dropped my rate to 12 miles/hour. Yet they still charge the same $2.50/hour whether you're at 12 miles or 24 miles if you're lucky enough to have your own charger.

We only decided to stay here because they had added 4 EV charging ports. We relied on having them work but they only put out a VERY limited amount of charge - 3% in almost 3 hours!!! We needed to get a full charge in order to even make it to the next charging facility and at that rate, it would have taken more than 2 days to charge!!! The hotel management needs to spend a few hundred bucks at most to upgrade the circuit breaker to enable more charge capacity for the chargers it installed. This is not a place I will stay again.

Real outdoors country feel!! Restaurant on site is top notch. Highly recommend the bread pudding caramel sauce with scoop of ice cream to finish off your 16 oz. steak dinner. Facilities were clean and the staff was friendly. Pool and Jacuzzi also were good. Relatively close proximity, 10 miles from Capital Reef National Park.

Everything was great until we checked out the hot tub. It was pretty gross. Filmy grime all around water level. I wasn’t about to get in that tub as dirty as it was. Such a downer considering we chose the property because it had a hot tub.

Nice clean room. Good location. Hot tub looked nice but definitely needed cleaning so we didn’t use it. On site restaurant had decent food, but the wait was very long and the food was not hot. Free breakfast was just average. Paper plates and plastic silverware. Cold food. It was in metal trays, but there was no sterno underneath to keep it warm. Would stay there again, but would definitely eat elsewhere.

Very clean and neat, bathroom was very clean. Restaurant was near rooms and menu was very inclusive. Pool and hot tub was were well maintained and in good shape. Breakfast was fine and the gentleman who prepared our breakfast meal was polite and friendly. We highly recommend the Broken Spur! Haley, our waitress, was wonderful and will be remembered!

When we checked in the room it was not properly prepared for guests. No soap, shampoo, coffee. I had to stop @ desk twice & was informed they were out of individual coffee packages. They do have laundry facilities but were unable to break $20 to use them. The food & service at restaurant was excellent for dinner. I’d go back for dinner but stay at a different hotel. This is an older motel with stairs & no elevator.

Check in was slow but a resident was having a medical emergency. My wife goes in the unit and takes off her shoes. I stay outside and bring our luggage to her. We do not wear our shoes in the room, just like at home and yet everywhere I walked, it was sand or dirt. After dinner, I came back and swept the entire unit. It took just five minutes to get a small pile of dirt up. Floors stayed clean after that. Wouldn’t it have been nice if housekeeping had done that before we arrived. I noticed the walkway outside needed a good sweep also. Not impressed with the dirt and half smoked cigarettes on the ground. Notified the front desk the hot and cold on the bathroom sink were reversed and the shower was difficult to get the divertor on the spout to engage. These were annoyances but the HVAC unit in the bedroom was the worst. So loud it was difficult to sleep. That really spoiled the stay. They should rotate the bed so it’s at the foot and not on one side blasting cold air and noise on one person. Fix these things and you’d have a great room.

The room appeared nice, but when I walked on the floor barefoot, I could feel gritty dirt. The shower was disgusting. There was a lot of mildew and a couple of hairs in the shower that weren’t ours.

Our stay at Broken Spur was wonderful. After a long day of driving through snowy conditions, we were delighted to find a restaurant on-site and a cozy bed to rest in. The only suggestion I have is to provide an option for pillows. The pillows in the room were hard and flat, making me feel like I was sleeping on a cowboy’s saddle. Despite this minor inconvenience, we had a very pleasant stay.

Unique property very close to Capitol ridge . The steak house restaurant is located right in the facility and the lamb ribs were excellent! Our room had a balcony to see the sunrise and a wirlpool tub for two right in the room. You can stargaze right off the property as Torrey is the official darkest sky city!

This is an old motel that has been updated nicely but still retains it's basic floorplan...bed by the exterior door, open sink area with private tub/toilet in rear. The room was clearn, as evidenced by the strong antiseptic smell upon entering. The grounds are well kept. The staff in the restaurant were all friendly and nice. The checkin was less than warm and friendly. The clerk was confused about our reservation through Expedia until I informed her how it worked. Overall it was a good stay. Message to the motel: pillows are rock hard. A couple of soft pillows would be a much appreciated option.

The bed was comfortable. There was a long bench in the room which was perfect for putting suitcases and other items on. The downside of the room was a bright outdoor light which the curtains did not completely block at night. Breakfast was included although it was mainly eggs, potatoes and sausage.

The hotel is nice and updated. There is no elevator. The restaurant has good steak and wine. We are at the far end of a building that is not attached to the main building with the office and the restaurant. The view from our room is gorgeous. But it would be nice if the internet worked in our building.

Very glad I stayed here for my trip to Capitol Reef. I went to the restaurant on ribs night, and ate what might have been the best ribs I've ever had. The restaurant was packed, so service was good but not exceptional, but the food was fantastic. I also accidentally left my laptop here, and the staff had it mailed by FedEx the same day I called, perfectly cushioned by four (clean) old hotel towels. The front desk staff were super helpful in all my interactions with them. The room was very nice as well. Highly recommend.

Very nice lady at check in. When we had difficulties with our heater, she was the one who came and took it apart and repaired it. She was extremely accommodating at check-in. She was working with a boot on.

Carla went above and beyond to accommodate an additional night stay and helped to arrange medical appt when got injured on hike. She was always helpful and so nice as well as all other staff. The steak restaurant was terrific.

We checked in after hours, and our wagon had no power. We contacted the emergency # and nobody came to fix our power until 9:30 the next morning. We made the best of it and chalked it up to adding to the "pioneer charm" but for the price we paid, that isn't exactly what we were looking for. The bathrooms & breakfast were top rate though.

I would stay at the Broken Spur again in a minute. The staff was exceptional. So friendly and helpful. The restaurant was unexpectedly fabulous! Everything was delicious and the pancakes at the buffet were the best restaurant pancakes I've ever had.

Unexpected renovations, no toiletries in our room, hidden fees, not all amenities included, and poor communication from the hotel staff made this experience a terrible one. The hotel was doing major renovations during our stay. The entire parking lot and the roads leading up to the hotel were being resurfaced. It was loud and the fumes of the asphalt sealing was making my kids sick and we couldn't use most of the amenities (pool, laundry, playground, etc) because they were eventually blocked off. We were even stranded from our vehicle because they started re-paving between where our car was parked and our room. At no point did any of the hotel staff notify us what to expect or how long the renovating would be going on. We stayed a few days and then requested to leave early. They refused to refund us since our trip was prepaid. They also added an "extra guest" fee because we have a baby. Again, they never notified us of this fee, they just tacked it on after we left and billed us for it. Aside from the construction, the beds were not made and the toiletries were never replenished during our stay. They did enter our room each day to empty the garbage and give new towels, but what good are new towels if we have no soap? I've never stayed in a hotel that doesn't replenish the basic toiletries each day.

Excellent location with quick access to Capitol Reef. Hard flooring in the room, clean bedding and bathroom. Kind and friendly staff. Decent breakfast selection. Only minor suggestions, the pillows are rock hard and could be replaced, the shower head looks like it’s from an 80’s rec center but water pressure was still great. Would still stay here again! The onsite restaurant for dinner was also a huge bonus!

Nice place to stay. A gas station and few restaurants are next to the property. Hotel has a stake house. These restaurants could be closed for off season for example, Thanksgiving. Overall it is an excellent place to stay. Closed to Capitol Reef NP.

Broken Spur Inn & Steakhouse It’s conveniently located from Capitol Reef national Park. The on-site restaurant was fantastic — we really enjoyed the meals, and breakfast was included with our stay, which was a great bonus. The only small downside was the room curtains didn’t completely block out the morning light, so it got bright early — not ideal when you want to sleep in. Still, that was a very minor issue and wouldn’t stop us from staying here again. The location, convenience, and overall comfort far outweigh that little inconvenience.

Check in desk staff was very pleasant. The room was clean. Breakfast was poor and the restaurant was horrible. The food in the restaurant was awful and servers were rude. They assign you a table and won’t give you the table you like. We didn’t like a food and service so we didn’t want to tip them. However, they argued with us and tried to force us to give them a tip.

Overall, this place was a very good experience...The only "not great part" was that the breakfast was meh, so-so, not a lot of quality food, mostly dehydrated eggs, pancakes, etc. The fellow who worked in the food area was very nice and friendly, but he was playing his rock music in the close-by kitchen quite loudly, maybe a bit too loudly. And I even liked that kind of music!

Nice place to stay when visiting Capitol Reef. Room was clean. Pool was refreshing after a hot day exploring the national park. We enjoyed the steakhouse for dinner (don't skip the biscuits!). While nice to have a breakfast option it was just ok. Just pancakes (they were good), scrambled eggs, and sausage. A few dry cereals and instant oatmeal was also available. The "bakery items" was just a loaf of white bread. Only fruit was apples. Overall good stay and would stay there again

Nice clean room. Good location. Hot tub looked nice but definitely needed cleaning so we didn’t use it. On site restaurant had decent food, but the wait was very long and the food was not hot. Free breakfast was just average. Paper plates and plastic silverware. Cold food. It was in metal trays, but there was no sterno underneath to keep it warm. Would stay there again, but would definitely eat elsewhere.

We stayed here on a last second spur (jokes aside) of the moment trip. The room was fairly priced for the area, the room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The rooms with the large tub are fun, and have a window that opens to the bedroom from the bath area. The views of the area are second to none, with a truly stunning mountain view from our balcony. The included breakfast was decent and a good start to our morning. The bathtub looked a bit grimy, but the shower had the best water pressure of anywhere I've stayed.
