This hotel hits way above its price point. 2 blocks from the Malecon. Shopping within feet. The room was very functional and the made to order breakfast each morning was included with the price and was one of the best things I had each day. The downsides are that the hot water runs out quickly and the windows to the room blocked zero noise but luckily it is on a not-so-busy street. Finally, the rooftop spa was not working and had stuff floating in it. I would stay there again.

It was a bonus to get a hotel that includes breakfast. It was good food and a good variety. It has a plunge pool that was nice to have on those hot afternoons.

Breakfast is good but poor, pool is so bad,front desk no a.c, elevator is too slow.

The location is perfect as it’s only about 2 blocks away from the malecon. Short walk to the Zona Romantica. The pool area looked way better in pictures (it’s a small patio rooftop with some chairs and a very small pool prob big enough for 4 people). Breakfast was delicious and very fresh. I would stay here again.

Great location for the Malecon and restaurants. However, extremely loud street noise and church bells. Staff were very good and breakfast was great. Small gym, but you can get some exercise if you still need it after walking to see all the sites. Large jacuzzi on 4th floor, clean but not heated. Still considered it a good value.

Always a pleasure to stay here. Great service. The rooms are nice. Very helpful staff at getting taxis, local information on the area rooms are clean. They're air-conditioned great rates. Small gym with a elliptical and a exercise bike and weights. We had a corner room with a small balcony from our room when you looked out you could look down towards the main cathedral and square

Shabby place. Towel in my room on arrival had a hole in it and was stained (lipstick, I hope). Bowls and plates at breakfast were chipped.

Our first time staying at Porto Allegro and we were pleasantly surprised at what a nice time we had. The property is simple but super clean and staff friendly and helpful. The property is close enough to the Cuale river, island, Malecon and several nice restaurants. The breakfasts provided were a good choice and service was friendly and we were happy.

This property was a great location. Breakfast was 5/10. Staff nice and helpful. My room had rusty hardware in the shower/bathroom, ceiling looked like it would fall down any moment with patches and holes. dirty windows. was not happy here.

We stayed at the Porto Allegro in May of 2025 and found the overall stay very good. We booked a suite but I would not have classified it as a suite. Room was somewhat smaller then we are used to when traveling. But that was just fine as the room was very clean and the staff were amazing. We also spent very little time in the room as we were out enjoying everything that was within walking distance. The breakfast that came with the room was very good as you ordered it from a menu. It was hot, tasty and the coffee was very good. It was as good as homemade and way better then a buffet breakfast. The ladies were very friendly and made you feel like you were home. Will definitely stay here again. Victor at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.

The room is spotless & we were accompanied to our room & shown how to operate the TV, the fan & the lights. Very helpful.

Hotel was clean, staff great and made to order breakfast although limited, was much better than any continental or buffet style breakfast. The only downside and I mean the only one as the location of the hotel is awesome...is the walls and windows are paper thin. You can hear everything from the adjacent rooms and outside. I mean everything! If you are ok wearing ear plugs to sleep then you should be ok but otherwise you will be kept awake by the tv, snoring and conversations of your fellow travellers.

The room was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. They have a few items on the breakfast menu and let you choose as much as you want.The location was great, it was walking distance to beaches, el malecon, markets, etc. The reason it is not getting a 5 star review was because it was noisy. We could hear the people talking and walking outside. The church bell ringing every hour; early morning too. We also didn't have hot water in our room. It was not fixed when we mentioned to staff.

Nice hotel, big room, comfy bed. I had room 204, and it faced the street & intersection, right above the entrance- so there was noise through most of the night. But even so, I managed to sleep well both nights! Breakfast on the rooftop patio was pretty good, too. Location is EXCELLENT! South end of Centro, a block above Isla Cuale, so...less than a 10 minute walk to Zona Romantica, 10 minute walk to the Malecon, 10 minute walk to 5 de Diciembre. Countless food options in walking distance, from amazing street food to great restaurants. Tons of bars, too. I'll happily stay here again! *Pics are from the rooftop.

We like the location of this hotel. Close to the beach and the activities and flavor of Mexican life. What we didn't like was when we checked in they took us to a room that was occupied and not an ocean view as we requested. We did then get a different room with ocean view. But it is very noisy, located by the exhaust fans and air conditioner units. Cant just open patio doors and hear the ocean. That part is very disappointing.

The bed was very comfy

Awesome staff! Make sure to get a room facing the street and not the building next door, otherwise it’s a really depressing stay. But the rooms facing the street or with a balcony are gorgeous! You’re right in the middle of the city, right next to everything.

This hotel is in a great location for walking to many areas and so many great restaurants. The hotel has been renovated so we liked that. The highlight for us was the daily breakfast, items made to order and all delicious! If we booked here again we would ask to see the room first and change if needed. The room we got was way too dark because outside the window it was surrounded by concrete walls so no natural light came in.

For the money it's a good stay. Breakfast were good. BUT it is very important to get a room NOT by a street. I didn’t sleep much at all because of this.

We decided to stay here based on the excellent reviews and were not disappointed. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially the ladies cooking and serving breakfast on the rooftop......The omelet and coffee were great. The management took great pride in ensuring everything was as it should be and we would stay again for sure!

The staff at this hotel are very hard working. I was impressed with the work ethic and friendliness of the front desk staff and the breakfast server in particular, but everyone working there overall. We had a great time! The hotel is also inexpensive and in a convenient location. Clean as well. Breakfast was good and filling, with convenient serving times (open 7:30am to 11:30am). Now what to be aware in booking here to not be disappointed. First, many of the rooms are very basic and small, so pay attention on what room type you book. Our original classic room did not have a table to eat at for example. That is not a particular concern if you just need a place to stay. You'll be eating out a lot anyway and I believe you can likely eat at one of the tables upstairs if need be. We were upgraded to a larger room for our remaining nights. The other thing to note is that there is a lot of noise around this hotel, being downtown. The walls are very thin as well, particularly between some units. To minimize external noise, you may ask if available for a unit that is facing toward a quieter side of the building or the interior (our original small room faced an empty alley/wall which lacked a view but was far quieter at night). There are Mexican tourists who book this hotel and are louder at night, which we discovered on our second night. If you are travelling as a group, you could ask to have your rooms be put beside each other to minimize the chance of getting a loud neighbor.

I was robbed and hotel gave a lot of support, hotel personnel and I made tens of calls to solve the crime on top of they had computers in the lobby. I am hopeful the they find the right video tape on the thief. I teally lost everything, passport, drivers license, debit and credit cards but it is starting to look better already. I want to especially mention Patricia who was a tremendous spiritual and emotional support when things looked relly bad.

All of the staff were exceptional. Very attentive to needs and wants. Nice comfortable breakfast area on roof top. I highly recommend staying there. Very close and central to everything in PV Centro and Old Town area. We will be back again

We were there during the recent hurricane; in anticipation of lack of restaurants open the owner brought in pizza, salads, sandwiches water soda beer All at no charge for his guests. In this day of charging for everything it was refreshing and greatly appreciated. Also this hotel had a backup generator for lights and refrigerator. Small hotel that is privately owned. I’ve stayed here six or seven times. Always consistent.

Everything was perfect. Victor is a great person to meet and greet new guests. The included breakfast is a great plus.

Victor and all of the employees were very helpful with everything we needed. The kitchen and wait staff were great. We stayed a full month and it could not have been better stay. The rooftop sitting area is great to see the town at night. There is also some very good restaurants within walking distance. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. Thanks

Had to wait over an hour to check in , then after waiting we got the worst room in the hotel. Smells bad and faces the alley . Very disappointing even though we booked a superior room. Hotel is dated and in poor condition , the only thing is the location is good . Breakfast included is very good and home cooked by friendly ladies. Would not recommend this hotel.

This is the second time we stayed with you and the first time we received a bottle of wine. We came with another couple and they received a bottle of wine as well. The second time we stayed with the same couple and they received a bottle of wine but we were refused! Maybe it’s because we are a Gay couple! I also think they should have better towels and a place for clients to wash up when they are forced out of their room early and must wait for a late departure! For me customer service is the most important thing for clients to return and tell friends about your business which is service!!! The staff for breakfast are number one!

We had a wonderful stay here. For the price point, it is extremely accommodating and very comfortable. Clean rooms, amazingly kind service, and a great location. Victor at the front desk, Martha and Enrique in service, and Teresa and Karen in the kitchen were all amazing! The free breakfast is hand cooked to order, the bed is comfortable, and the location at a hole is very clean and nice. If you’re looking for a place close to the city that’s affordable and accommodating, this is it.

I really enjoyed this hotel. It was clean and staff were friendly. The location was probably the biggest plus. It was a bit noisy just from the sounds on the street and of the city but earplugs do the trick and we got used to it pretty quickly.

This place is very nice. It's next to the river and close to the Malecan. The Romanic Zone is just across the river. Everything is in walking distance. Very happy with my stay there

Hotel Porto Allegro is a fantastic property, ideally situated in Centro, very close to the malecon and Romantic Zone and all of the restaurants and bars within the area. Even with this proximity, it was very tranquil in the evening, much more than I expected. The property is kept immaculately clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is simple but satisfactory. I cannot recommend it highly enough, and would absolutely stay here again on a future visit.

Great location on a quiet street. Very close to amenities and a short walk to the ocean. Some great restaurants in walking distance.

Great central locaiton between downtown and Zona Romantica. Plenty of great dining and shopping options within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and amenities were as advertised. Shower did not consistently provide warm/hot water. There was some noise at night that required earplugs to help us sleep but we anticipated this. The noise didn't seem to come from any partying on the streets directly near us but sound from cars and the churchbells just seems to travel from a few streets over. Overall great value for our stay given the location and amenities.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was a nice size, the bed was pretty comfortable, it had great AC and a very good shower. More importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful and the location was outstanding! High marks, overall!!

Great little place just a few blocks from the Malecon. Breakfast (included) was made to order and good. Shower was nice. Air conditioning worked well. Front desk staff and bellmen were friendly and helpful. Excellent vale for the price.

Wow amazing location! Right by the pier. Beds super comfy, spotless, white sheets. The hotel says "includes breakfast", its more than a little buffet, but a little breakfast restaurant. You get a menu, and they serve you. From bacon and eggs, to simply Mexican style breakfast.We easily saved $50 a day from not eating out for breakfast. Beach, malecon, pier, all within a 5min walk. Will definitely stay again!

Porto Allegro was in a convenient location near all the sights of the Zona Romantica, malecon and old Puerto Vallarta. The complimentary breakfast on the rooftop patio even included a delicious omelet if you wanted!

Breakfast was really good lots of options.
