This one is what it is, folks. One of the best locations in Paris, but there's no air conditioning in summer, you're carrying your bags up what might be three flights of tight stairs, the bathroom smells bad. They "had a problem with their wifi" which meant they weren't going to fix it over two business days - maybe they don't intend to. I'm single, but if I weren't, my gf wouldn't forgive me for putting her here unless she was unicorn cool. I'm not a diva. The staff were nice. But things like a foul smelling bathroom and a broken wifi router can be quickly fixed at this price point. You're offering a lot of Parisienne location for the money, but more than 160 euros a night is still enough money to fix the internet and the plumbing (if that's the source of the smell).

The good: -Fantastic location. Close to shops, landmarks, and some of the best pizza I've ever had (seriously) -Cheap-ish. -Very nice staff. -No bedbugs. The Not Great: -Walk- up only (20 steps per flight), so 4th floor and up can get a little exhausting. -No AC. This was especially bad during the heatwave. -Showers are small and flood almost the whole bathroom, but they did the job.

Staff were very good, friendly, helpful; place clean. Being that said, this is a 1-star property and needs significant work to get it to a decent level. Everything is old, small, tight, and no lift... I was given Rm53 on the fifth floor and carried my bags up tight steps and needed a drink when done. The internet worked the first day, but after that 'dead'... too far from the router on the first floor. Large people cannot stay at this hotel; the shower didn't work well for me and I'm 5'8", around 170bs, or about 80kg and I had to tuck in my elbows all the time. No air-conditioning, no glasses, no refrigerator, no tissues, no extras. Look, once I assessed the place, I knew I'd be roughing it a bit, so it worked for me; but if you need the basics and in a well-maintained place, then you might struggle. I comments are noted here to inform since the website, pictures, and comments do not. Again, very nice staff, but hotel needs work.

Don't bother. There's no way to shower without flooding the room, the shower is too small to avoid it. There was also a strange piece of furniture in the room (a luggage stand perhaps) that blocks the door from opening entirely. I would rather have one usable shower per floor than unusable ensuites. There was a cup in the bathroom - but it was visibly dirty, and uncovered. The towels didn't look clean. The proprietor looked at my reservation and decided not to offer me breakfast. Based on what I saw (food prep on top of a washing machine...), I decided not to insist.
