Stayed 2 nights

This is my third and last time staying at this hotel. It used to be the most charming place near Tikal and it was filled with birds and animals that were a highlight. Now they get treated like pests and stay away, which was sad to note. There seems to be new management and it all felt sort of disconnected and amateurish. The vibe felt off compared to my previous stays. They had the same terrible playlist of generic pop music and I could hear it from my room so not even using the hammock was restful. They also fell for the awful trend of using leaf blowers so the noise pollution is considerable since it's in the middle of a large bioreserve. All in all it was such a disappointing experience that I ended up over at the next lodge having a drink and planning my next trip to Tikal with them. Hopefully the new management will get it together but I won't be going back :/ - one nice thing was the welcome drink: chilled hibiscus (jamaica) - that was a nice touch :) The pipes in the bathroom and the water smelled absolutely awful and that was not the case before :( - I was scared to wash my teeth and bought water from the hotel for that purpose. The rugs around the bed did not look clean either...maintenance also felt off compared to two previous stays.
