Excellent location, being 5 minutes walk from the train station, and maybe 10 minutes to the coast. Parking looks like it could be an issue though. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities were great. Plenty of storage and wardrobe should you need them. I'd have slept better if the room actually had curtains though and the bed wasn't facing the window. The shower was great and the little touches like the hot drinks, towels, shower gel, and TV was appreciated. The check in and check out process could have been more clear though.

This was great if you are wanting central town or going to a gig at the open air. Was nice and quiet too slept like a baby. Parking outside too.

Warmly greeted by the host Jonathan and shown to the room which had a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable and mini fridge. Bathroom was on the small side but adequate. Parking was available with a small hotel car park but ample on road parking. Overall a good stay and would return.

Hotel is located in a quiet cul-de-sac. Wetherspoons just round the corner for breakfast. Rooms were comfortable but wish I'd spotted the blackout blind before I went bed.

Stayed at this property for a visit to Scarborough for the night. Cannot mention one bad thing about the hotel. We stayed in the four bedded family room. Brilliant facilities did not have en-suite but we knew this and there were plenty of toilet and shower options throughout the hotel. Very friendly staff. Free parking which was also a bonus. Very close by to all facilities of Scarborough. Small fridge in room which was a nice extra to keep drinks cold. Would definitely stay here again.

We was greeted upon check-in and shown to our room. The room was in good condition, very clean and had reasonable facilities. We only had a slight issue with parking otherwise the stay was comfortable. Good value for money. Would recommend.

Stayed here for Fortress festival between Friday 31st May to 2nd June, solo traveller and a mate had another room here. Pros - the place whilst dated, is very clean -Lots of towels, plenty of soap and a small shower gel provided. -Free bottle of water & Tea/coffee/milk & Viennese whirl biscuit -Sweetie jar is a nice touch -Comfy bed -Nice and quiet - didn’t hear a thing all weekend. Cons -No hot water from the taps -Hotel owner unlocked the door and let herself in the room when I was asleep, then apologised and left -Front door was locked at night with a sign saying use other door, but I wasn’t given a key for the other door so couldn’t get in -Shower goes scalding hot then freezing cold -Shower rail is not secure so the shower head keeps falling down - every time I saw the guy who checked me into the room, he was sat outside drinking cans of beer and smoking. He also neglected to tell my mate what to do with her parking sign for her car, and she was fined twice over night. That was very poor. I’ve rated as 4 stars because I paid less than £200 for 3 nights over 1 of potentially Scarborough’s busiest weekends of the year. The problems were minor, although being locked out was very annoying. All in all I was pleased with the place, which is a 2 minute walk from the centre of town. Would I go back? Probably not, I’d be happier to pay a few extra quid and get something a bit more professional.

Excellent location in the town for train station, bus stops, high street shopping and not too far from both beaches and the Castle. My room was spacious, clean and quiet with all the facilities you would expect at this price point.

A warm and friendly welcome from Faith who showed me round and even gave me a choice of rooms! She couldnt have been pleasanter. She ensured I had the wi-fi code and gave me a contact number in case I needed anything. The room was lovely and airy and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and I also had a comfy chair to watch the TV. Nice ensuite with a good shower and soap, shower gel and a flannel were included. Tea making facilities with tea, coffee and biscotti were much appreciated. I had a great night's sleep as the room was cool and quiet. Jonathan introduced himself and made me feel very welcome and it was good to have a friendly conversation with him. He took the time to ask if i needed anything. The Albermarle is sitated in a quiet crescent about 5 mins walk from the train station so is very handy. It is also just a few minutes walk from the main shopping lanes. Thanks for an excellent relaxing stay.

We had a really good stay here Jonathan is a great host, he helped us with an early check in . The room was extremely clean with a super comfortable bed. It is an old building and is slightly dated but they are making the very best of it . Thanks very much for an excellent stay

Stayed one night for a concert. Host was friendly and helpful, location great and room spacious and clean.

The hotel decor is very shabby and dated. They had issues with boiler so no heating or hot water. The gent looking after the place was helpful and put a radiator in the room. The hotel was clean and bed comfortable.

The room and other areas of the hotel were very clean,there was everything we needed in our room for our two night stay,would definitely stay again.

The room was lovely just a bit small. Had a small double and a single. Very clean though. Could of done with a bit more milk supplied but otherwise all was good.

Stuart was a great host. Room was spacious with a nice big window and high ceilings. Comfortable beds and clean. Location wise was perfect. Only a 2 minute walk to the local shops. We would stay here again

Had a lovely large room, my stay was perfect. Traveling solo, this was the largest room I ever had by myself. Walking distance to train station, close to everything I needed. Had 2 good sleeps, fairly quiet area at night (even though not far from pubs etc. if that is desired), would definitely stay again.

My second time staying here. Great size room, good location (easy walk from train station, but also easy walk to beach, the castle area etc). Water pressure not great in the shower, and I was really missing some curtains this time (in June it doesn’t really get dark much, made sleeping a bit trickier).

I'd read the previous reviews before booking here so this is an up-to-date review now for everyone! 1. Over a few days, I found out from random people that the area DID have a dodgy reputation so possibly the previous reviews are fair. But locals told me that the council have made a big effort to sort this out. I'm a middle-aged woman staying ON MY OWN and I saw zero of any concern. 2. Lovely room, really clean, very quiet, very snuggly, plenty of space, very good hot water and shower. I even had a little fridge! 3. Big absence of staff. Sorry, I have to tell the truth. Management needs massively tightening up. No-one there when I left this morning, I just left a nice message and my keys on a table. No-one was there when I arrived either...I was really confused. 4. Overall: I really liked it! Stuart, tighten up on some stuff and you've got a gem of a place - somewhere non-corporate, brilliant location, warm, snuggly, inviting...I'll definitely stay again. But be there to meet me eh, and take my keys when I leave!

This was a disastrous booking. We are 2 friends who understood we were booking a room with 2 beds. When we arrived there was noone who knew which room was booked. A friend of the landlady took an hour trying to contact her. He finally showed us a room with one small double bed. After more delays when we tried to get a different room, he said there was no other rooms free (although there was a vacancies sign in the window). We then left with an assurance from the landlady's helper that we would be refunded. There was no way of talking to the landlady by phone or in person. We tried to get a refund via hotels.com. This proved a very frustrating process with long delays on phone conversations and an unworkable call back phone number given. Finally the refund was refused. This is the worst experience I have had after many years travel. The refund refusal was totally unreasonable and unacceptable. The refund process via hotels.com was very frustrating and difficult.

Perfectly placed for easy access to town and see front .dqrn Absolutely amazing host nothing to much trouble . Lovley clean room and decor Also you can check in from 12 which is a definite bonus as most are 3 pm.

On arrival I was met by Jonathan who was very welcoming and friendly, he showed me to my room and provided me with a number to call should I have had any issues during my stay. Excellent service! The room itself was lovely, very comfortable, had tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge, lovely en suite and everything I needed! In check out, Jonathan again was very attentive and wished me well for my journey home. The train station is also a very short walk away which is mainly why I picked the hotel.

Welcomed by a new girl given keys told where room was. Never explained anything else where we were? had we stayed before? We had two rooms didn’t realise each set opened separate front doors! Never seen owners/ staff for the two nights we were there. Room fine bit dated but clean. Toilet/shower room tiny! But workable. Good location. Would we stay again? Yes good value for money

It is close to the railway station, all the main shopping streets, and plenty of places to eat and drink. The hotel is quiet, no traffic noise, and it is easy to walk to tourist attractions in South and North Bay from this central locations. I was glad I had booked this hotel as it exceeded my expectations.

One night stay to attend an event at Scarborough Spa. Location slightly run down was a little apprehensive at first but nothing to worry about in the end. Everyone soooo friendly.. Five min walk from railway station. very handy for town and Wetherspoons and shopping centre. Rooms 14 and 16 were so clean and fresh. Towels bedding all smelled lovely. Tea coffee biscuits water. All supplied. Stuart the owner very friendly helpful guy. We checked in at 12 (ideal) and there was no rush to check out next day at 10. Booked two rooms for one person each. . There was infact room for 3 people in each room. Paid £67 so bargain really. Stuart let us leave all our baggage in the room all day whilst we went off doing the sight seeing. Collected bags at 6pm. No problem Would deffo stay again.

Just came up for a couple of days for a conference it was adequate as it was central shame that they didn’t do breakfast but otherwise okay a little bit tied round the edges but good value for money

Jonathan couldn't be more helpful. Slight issue with noisy residents but Jonathan soon sorted that out too. Rooms were clean and well laid out. Beds and pillows were super comfy. Only issue I had with my room was no curtains at the window so it was light at 4.30 which made sleep difficult. But a very pleasant stay and literally 2 minutes walk to the main shopping and dining areas including theatre and train station. Steady walk downhill to the sea and for us oldies an Uber back up there road to the hotel. Jonathan does a marvellous job of running the place, seemingly single handed. Would stay here again.
