The Shoreditch Inn

Felt like a criminal on arrival - lots of unnecessary rules about visitors etc. Also: is it a security issue if youre asking a solo female traveller what her room number is in front of an entire reception of strangers...and was not necessary as i used my keycard to scan in etc...very strange place but good location

Unfortunately the lift was not working and even though I was given a first floor room, breakfast was then two long flights down in the basement. I appreciate it was beyond their control and it broke just before my stay. That is why I have marked my stay as a 4. Also there were minor lacks of repair - a loose tie back fell off the wall for example.

Great location, room requests were honoured and nice and quiet. Room was a refurbished one and very pleasant, although bathroom and main door are too close together and you can’t open one if the other is open. Some cobwebs round the window but otherwise very clean. We didn’t make it to breakfast so can’t comment but looked minimal, maybe croissants and orange juice. You could only access the hotel by staff or keycard so felt very safe

Staff allowed us to store our bags before check out free of charge, and provided water bottles when we ran out. The room was clean, location was convienent, and overall comfortable for exploring London with my partner.

Good size room and bathroom. Some renovations were taking place at the time. Great area for nightlife. Hotel is in quiet area though. Cant comment on the breakfast

When we arrived at the accommodation, we were greeted with a lovely smile and smooth, friendly check in. Our room was very spacious with a comfy bed, excellent amenities and generally super clean. We were happy to find complimentary tea and coffee, toiletries, slippers and water bottles stocked in the mini fridge along with some options for breakfast (continental was free, you can pay extra if you'd like more than this). They were also kind enough to keep our bags whilst we had a wander around the city for the day. Overall, it was a great stay and exceptional value for money. Highly recommend and we look forward to our next visit. Thanks very much to the team xx

The hotel facilities were very poor - the lift was non functional and the tv in my room was no working at all. Extremely disappointed given the price of the room.

I chose this hotel specifically because it advertised soundproof rooms, and I needed a quiet place due to some work I was doing. But I was hearing construction noise from above me all day. The hours of the noise would have been perfectly acceptable if I just needed to sleep in the room and leave for the day, but it was disruptive and extremely disappointing. The fact that the front door is locked 24/7 was nice for security, but it made the hotel feel very unfriendly when I arrived to check in, especially since no one was at reception (though I did arrive about an hour before check in time). Ultimately, Krishna did come to reception and checked me in half an hour early, and he was extremely friendly and kind, which helped a lot to overcome the initial unwelcoming impression. The room itself was very nice, and the bathroom was great - I enjoyed the hot shower with good pressure. I also had a spectacular view of the church yard, out of two floor-to-ceiling windows, and it was incredibly peaceful to look out and people-watch. Shoreditch is a fun, artistic neighborhood, and the hotel is very well situated for walking and exploring. If I hadn't needed quiet, or if there hadn't been construction, this would have been a perfect place to stay.

I read reviews for this hotel and thought it would be good. I wasn't looking for much, just a hotel for a single night in London. I was tired and needed to rest. It was on a side street and was supposed to be quiet... I arrived, and the front desk lady didn't really speak English. I don't mean had an accent. I mean I asked simple questions about the check-in stuff and where I was signing and stuff, and she seemed confused and just responded "yes, yes" to questions that were definitely not yes or no. Whatever, not a big deal. I just wanted to rest in my room finally...Except they were doing renovations. Absolute mess outside the room. Drilling, screaming at each other, listening to loud music on their phones. Also work dusty, could not have been healthy. Also wet paint. None of this had been disclosed ahead of time. I get that hotels need work sometimes, but this should be disclosed to guests before. It was very frustrating because I really needed to sleep...and it wasn't car noise from outside (it's a city, a little is expected). Or noisy guests...those are annoying and can happen. Both those I can put in earplugs and ignore. But it's very hard to ignore drilling into walls next to you that cause physical vibrations in the room. To really top it all off, the wet paint they had everywhere? A pair of pants I wore while there are not damaged because of it. Fun fact, hotels.com was useless in helping so. Don't stay here. They don't care.

Meant to be an executive room with more space, for what we paid for 2 nights it was cheap furniture all the windows were cracked, just horrible, it looked clean until you looked closer, shower wouldn’t drain properly and when I took the plug out to look I don’t think it’s ever been cleaned, it was disgusting, then I looked up at the extractor fine that wasn’t doing much as again it was filthy

Hotel public areas smell nice. Staff are so friendly and helpful in this hotel including the breakfast chef. I had a query and looked at changing date and hotel were so helpful unlike Expedia! The hotel room was clean and spacious with comfortable bed, pillows & lovely white sheets. Nice toiletries & good tea & coffee aswell as bottles water in fridge. Continental Breakfast was excellent and very fresh & set us up for the day. Thank you all for a lovely stay.

Location suited us perfectly for Liverpool st, less than 30 min walk & 10 to underground to get further afield. Overall excellent value & will stay again.

I stayed for just a night before going to a meeting near Bank. The room was clean and comfortable and perfect for my needs. I was able to walk in to the City next morning. The reception staff and breakfast staff were pleasant and helpful. The area around the hotel has lots of good restaurant and pub options. I would definitely recommend.

Nice and clean room. Comfortable bed.

The room smelt of curry, wasn't very clean, didn't have a toilet roll holder and the toilet seat didn't fit. 2 days before i was told the lift didn't work and when I asked if they could print out the invoice, they said the print wasn't working. To top it all off the curtains are too small for the windows so daylight comes through. Would not stay again.

Extremely friendly, helpful staff. Very basic complimentary continental breakfast or pay extra to have a cooked breakfast. Rooms are quite basic and need more of a thorough clean around the bath and corners of the bathroom along with skirting boards and windows

Bed was uncomfortable

Our stay at the Shoreditch Inn, was rather mixed. We had booked a deluxe double room that was supposed to be more spacious. Obviously we paid extra for the upgraded room but when we went up to it we good barely move around the room. There was a chair wedged under a unit at the bottom of the bed that I had to move to get around. You couldn’t walk past the bed if the cupboard door was open. The photographs on the website for the deluxe room were complete fabrication. Having said this, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I was just not happy paying for an upgrade that clearly wasn’t one. I spoke to the lady on departure about it and she insisted room 207 was deluxe, it wasn’t. Absolutely nothing like the rooms shown on the website. The staff were very nice, the room was clean, but my advise is just don’t waste your money on an upgraded room.

The room was clean, walkable to train and in a good location. Air conditioning didn’t work and it was a very hot night.

We were on the 3rd floor. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were lovely. Only issue was the hot water wasn’t hot on both the sink and the shower.

The property wasn't as sound proof as advertised and the room didn't have a do not disturb doorknob hanger. However, the room is clean and functional. There is no complaints about the room itself, just the environment

Great stay in a great neighborhood. My double room was on the small side, but very well laid out. Room came with a desk, wardrobe with a safe, and very nice private bathroom with a walk-in shower and heated towel rack. The springs in the mattress were pretty noticeable when sitting down on the bed, but they didn't affect my sleep. Staff were very kind and professional, and the breakfast they offer was fantastic. I would stay here again.

I couldn’t get into the property to check in and had to wait outside for over 20mins only for another guest to let me in as nobody on reception plus nobody was on front desk to even answer the door bell or landline when I rang it. Given I had travelled all day and arrived at 10pm I find this totally unacceptable

Excellent hotel. Staff was absolutely amazing couldn't do enough for you. The water in the mini fridge and complimentary breakfast was the cherry on top. If I come back to London this is where I'll be staying.

We had a really lovely stay at the Shoreditch Inn. The staff were very pleasant. The room was clean and there was a lovely coffee machine with parts on the side. The only thing was the pillows were really uncomfortable and the room was too hot and we couldn’t turn it down Apart from that a perfect find would definitely stay there again but take my own pillow

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Shoreditch Inn, staff very friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and hadcall we needed. Breakfast was good and complimentary, you can upgrade to full English for £7 which was well worth it. Chef was great and cooked what you wanted. Hotel is small but very nice. Good location with shops and restaurant close by. Buses run past regular and only 10 min walk to train station. Would definitely stay here again

Perfect for a n Good buggts skeep weekend away in london. Number 26 bus took us west and bus stop just round the corner.

Room was clean and a good size, beds were comfortable, only negative was that it was a bit of a trek from the tube.

London has a great diversity of neighborhoods. Shoreditch is fine but lower than average in terms of cleanliness and a secure feeling, especially late at night.

It was very nice and the reception Lady was very friendly. Was a little disappointed about the breakfast. I pay for breakfast with my hotel but when I get there, she show me what was included, so I had to pay extra for a English breakfast, which was very nice thank to the chef and waitress.

The hotel is OK. The "superior" room was OK but nothing was superior about it. Breakfast is rationed and even the cooked breakfast largely vegetarian and spartan.

A really nice hotel to stay in, hardly noticed the outside noice so was able to get a good nights sleep. The reception staff were very friendly. The only negative was that we paid extra for a cooked breakfast but never received this in the morning, we were given the complimentary continental breakfast instead.

This hotel is very good value for money. Great location, clean, nice breakfast. Our room was great. Clean, lovely crisp cotton sheets and fluffy towels. The staff were very helpful and polite. What more do you need? I would stay here again.
