We had no idea that the property was under constructionThe property reviews rated it 8/10 and the pics showed a beautiful hotel with indoor pool. THERE WAS A FORKLIFT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LOBBY! That cannot possibly be safe. The room was filthy. Walls, furniture and linens dirty and dust everywhere. Indoor pool -closed. Gym-closed. The breakfast was decent and staff was ok. DO NOT BOOK HERE!

but construction on the pool and fitness center was in process. The whole hotel needs to be under construction. The rooms are soo outdated. The chairs in the room was peeling and the sofa was stained. I thought my last experience was bad but this stay was horrible. The furniture was old and dirty. The shower was broken and half fixed. Breakfast was the worst. I never been to an Embassy hotel with lack of food choices. I wasn't informed at check in you had to request turn down service so we had to request wash cloths and towels. The restaurant was closed early both nights so we had to order out. If the Hilton's knew this hotel looked like this it would be shut down ASAP.

The hotel was fine and the staff very nice . BUT we waited 45 minutes for a hotel shuttle that never came. The Hampton inn driver offered to take us to the hotel so we rode with him.

There is major construction in the lobby and the fitness center is closed. Debris is everywhere. The hotel should not be allowed to remain open while major construction renders it unsafe. Also, room was filthy and an impolite lady at the desk said it could not be cleaned unless we gave 24 hour notice, which was impossible because we were not there the day before.

We shouldn’t have to pay to park our car at hotel the night we are paying to stay at hotel. You give 2 free drinks and free breakfast, it would go a long way to provide free parking during your stay at hotel.

The room was not clean upon arrival. But then they have removed cleaning and you have to request the room to be cleaned. The stairwell was full of cobwebs and other dust. This hotel is fairly new but definitely not looked after - it looks really rundown despite being max 10 years old. Very sad as I have stayed here many times before but will not chose it again. Breakfast is OK. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, movie and local bus to NY is great.

Let’s start with the positive. Breakfast options and taste were good. We all (7 of us with two rooms) enjoyed the made to order omelets. 🙂 The chairs in the dining area for breakfast are peeling. We arrived late due to a 22 hour drive. The check in was easy but lady at front desk was not that friendly/welcoming. She gave us out ticket for breakfast which did not include the correct number of guest in our room. When asked about it she said the room would cost more and I told her I included the number in the reservation. She then said just show it and they don’t really look at it. There were no sheets in the room for the sofa bed so we had to go get them along with extra towels. Since it was late we all showered and went to bed. In the morning we noticed baby roaches over the sink in the main room. The front desk was apologetic and changed our room and of course we had to go back down to get extra towels and sheets for the sofa bed. We were there 2 nights for a business trip so only need somewhere clean and comfortable. The shower was hot, the bed was comfortable but after seeing the roaches we slept on top of the covers with our own blankets.

Wall paper coming apart. Televisions stuck in the 2010’s(no internet tv) parking is not included. Empty fridge. You have to buy snacks from stores outside of hotel. They could use some restaurants close to the area.

I ordered 1 room in this hotel earlier today and paid in full. I received confirmation email from Expedia on the booking. However, when I arrive hotel, the front desk said they are fully booked since yesterday, no room was booked under my name. The lady at front desk was very inpatient, didn’t want to talk to me at all. I then contacted the agency at Expedia, they take so long to verify the case again and again. It’s 23:15 close to midnight now, been over an hour now but Expedia still hasn’t manage to find a room for me close by. The agent keep asking me repeat the basic information in the phone call. I don’t know either he has hearing issue or poor understanding of English. I am very upset with both the hotel and the service provided by Expedia!!!

We were some of the unlucky stranded due to a delayed flight. Thursday 5/16/2025 was an extremely rough day. I cannot rate this hotel high enough. 5 stars is too low. We checked in in the wee hours of the morning and our flight home wasn't happening until 10 pm Friday night. We couldn't get a late check out due to the hotel being completely booked that night, but we were allowed to stay until noon time. The front desk held our luggage so we could kill time at the mall. I did not get the name of the front desk on Thursday the 15th, but she was an absolute God send! Thank you for making an extremely difficult situation better!

We booked this hotel because it was close to airport for a 1 day layover and close to New York City for a quick day of site seeing, but they moved us to a hotel 45 minutes away and ruined my day in New York had to pay $340.00 for a driver to take us to new York city and back plus the lost time in getting there we missed our harbor cruise that was pre paid. We were not happy

The front desk clerk was horrible very rude and would give me the room I paid for until I contacted Hilton directly… it took almost 2 hrs to get checked in due to him denied me the room… saying there’s was no way I had a room there due to him being full them made me wait another hr cause he said he had a close out the day so I didn’t get to check into my room until 4am when I was there like 2am

The staff were very rude. My hotel room was dirty as there was hair all over the bathroom. I asked for a blanket and was rudely told I had to come down and get it myself. Every hotel I’ve been to, someone was able to bring it up. I understand if I had to go down and get it, but the rudeness of the staff who told me was the issue

Check in very poor. Pre checked on line day before and they said it would be 3pm. Arrived at 5 and didn’t have room available till 5:30. Hotel need a bit of paint and updating in areas. But is convenient for airport and shopping. Also room size is very good

Besides the freak working the front desk (Kelly) who thought he was a girl. Besides that upon check in the place is ok but for the price I’d expect the tops of the door Frames in the room to not be caked in dust. Bar restaurant was delicious and breakfast was also delicious.

I usually love staying at Embassy's but this one wasn't great. The breakfast was great, especially the made-to-order omelets. The room was so-so. Part of the lights would flicker out after a few minutes, the bed sheet had burn holes (though it was a nonsmoking room), and i had to turn the water on the shower all the way to hot for it to even be warm. Parking was atrocious. The manager overbooked the lot with park and stays so we ended up parking right in front of the hotel doors. If the shuttle hadn't left there would have been no parking for guests.

The room was spacious and I thought it would be a lovely stay based on that. But, after arriving from my flight hungry, the restaurant was actually closed during the dinner hour. No surprise it was closed the next day for lunch. But the most annoying part was they automatically charged me for parking. When I saw it on my cc the next morning, I was told that it would automatically “ drop off” my bill. That was not the case and hours later a second employee “ released” the charge. Other reviews mentioned this so I knew to check but … not okay .

The Embassy Suites in Newark, New Jersey. The room was comfortable and satisfactory, however, I was disappointed with the restaurant experience. The chef appeared preoccupied with their phone throughout my visit, which was unprofessional and distracting. Additionally, the table was dirty, despite ongoing construction in the area. I believe that even in such circumstances, basic cleanliness standards should be maintained, especially when serving food to guests.

Lovely hotel , clean safe and close to Mall (Mills at Jersey Gardens) heres a tip to get to NY, walk to the mall , catch bus 111 takes you right to NY port Authority near Times Square for $14 round trip so $7 each way. Now back to the hotel...best breakfast I've had in a long time....fully stock. Only drawback didn't see any snacks for the cocktail hour.
