Large and comfortable room, friendly staff, walking distance from a Kyoto train station. The hotel offers free coffee/tea from 10 PM to 11 PM and free drinks in the evenings with live entertainment. Separate male and female free large hot baths are open until 1 AM. The internet in my room was not working properly, so I was offered a free device to connect to the internet differently.

Good size rooms for the price in japan. Breakfast was also outstanding and affordable. Combined with the free welcome drink at the least lobby every night made it feel like an all included resort. Great place to relax between busy days in Kyoto and right by the metro. Even has free washing machines. Only inconvenience was some cigarette odor near the lobby sometimes.

We enjoyed our stay, especially the breakfast! There are great bonuses such as the public bath, and massage chairs/ relaxation space. We spent one evening in the lounge and listened to the live music. The room is clean with a convenient location close to Kyoto station, and we would stay with Sakura Terrace again.

Easy check in and check out along with good service. Free drink at night and coffee/tea in the morning. Comfy and roomy accomodations close to Kyoto station and Kujo station deposits you right outside hotel. Has a washer and dryer ylu can use for free. Only remotely negative thing was that the wifi was a little slow and very slow during peak times.

The place is was good and staff was friendly, the only issue was that the entire first floor / lobby smelt like smoke. There is a designated smoking area but the smells leaks into the entire lobby and given that there is a lounge/bar/massage chairs there it was kind of disappointing we couldn’t enjoy it due to the very strong smell

Overall great value for the money. Great location close to a subway station and a 19 minute walk from the train station. Lobby is fantastic like a bistro/bar. Every night music, welcome cocktails, massage machines are very welcomed.

Hotel offers excellent space for relaxing with books, travel information. Self-made dripping coffee or coffer pot is served after 10 am. One free drink for the guest. It also offer live music which we did not have time to enjoy. One suggestion is about room cleaning is not thorough. Nevertheless, we will come back if there is a trip to Kyoto. Location is excellent because it is next to a train station.

Habitaciones más espaciosas de lo normal en Japón, muy buena ubicación ya que se puede ir caminando a la estación de Tokio y hay el metro está justo afuera del hotel. Falta mejorar la limpieza en el baño. Aunque no utilizamos estas opciones, tienen baños públicos y cada día 1 bebida gratis por huésped.

large rooms, comfortable bed and clean facilities. Amenities are very good! Free, decent coffee/tea around the clock in the lobby. Staff are helpful and accomodating. Close to multiple train route and food options. We stayed 3 nights and had a lovely stay.

It is closer to Aeon mell by 13 minutes walk. The downside is that room are dirty the smallest refrigerator that is not working while is 40 degrees hot.our water bottles stayed warm and our food gonna spoiled. Clean the every 3days no Flatiron the Landry room on the 4th floor all of them was broken. I put my clothes for 2 hours didn't dried out. I hade to hang them out for two days in the room to get them dry. Just horrible 😞

I cannot overstate how wonderful Sakura Terrace is. All comments through the lens of a solo, young, female traveler. Customer service: highly accommodating. Last summer I was supposed to come stay, but got stuck in Tokyo while my baggage already made it to Kyoto- the staff, with the front desk at the hotel I was at in Tokyo, arranged to ship the luggage back to me, extremely helpful. English-speaking level varies among staff, but I had zero issues. The room: clean. The room I stayed in was particularly spacious compared to other places I’ve stayed at in Japan. Facilities: They have public baths open mornings and evenings. The female baths (all I can speak on) were clean, well-managed, and extremely relaxing after being on my feet all day. Warning: if you’re not used to it, the water is very hot, so look into it if it’s your first time. Amenities: in room amenities as standard. If you need a larger set of hotel clothes, you can just ask at the front desk. The complimentary drink, while nothing necessarily to write home about, is a very pleasant experience and they sometimes have live musicians playing. I did not look at their library area, nor did I partake in breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot comment on that. Location: easy access to Kyoto Station (~10 min walk), with a subway line directly accessible in front of the hotel. I had no issues with noise, even though my room faced the street. Safe area.

Room was good and bathroom was excellent. Only downside was the TV it was so small and had 8 channels. My only recommendation would to update the tv’s. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

Honestly everything about this property is nice, except one thing. There is no internet! Wish i would have paid attention to that. Its just too hard to visit a place and not be able to look anything up from your hotel. Based on the routers everywhere they tried to improve it but we had almost nothing our entire stay. Only worked in the loby

Fantastic location only a 10 minute walk to south entrance Kyoto station. Rooms were comfortable but basic.you can only plug in three devices at a time. Free welcome drink each night was fun. A way to meet other visitors. Staff was very helpful with any requests. Breakfast buffet had a good variety of item to choose from. Only improvement would be better exhaustion extraction system in the smoking room which is located right beside the lounge/common/breakfast tables. Unfortunately when smokers go in and out the smoke pours out into the public common lounge spaces. Or we found that smokers wanting fresh air would leave the door open. Maybe even an alarm that would signal that the door was left open would help? Also if you are a light sleeper make sure you book the rooms with a balcony then you will not be facing the busy road. No view from the balcony but it’s quiet.

Second time we stay here. The location is great, one stop metro from Kyoto station, and the station is just outside the hotel. Last time we got a better room, higher up and opposite side to the street. This time window just next to metro station on second floor. That was a bit noisy if you had the window open. The breakfast buffe here is great!

The ac did not work very well. The staff came and didnt fix it. Then the manager came. He said it only goes up to 23, so it was still warm. That same manager made a big deal about us getting extra room keys and forgetting our breakfast coupons when the other staff looked our room number and name up.

朝食メニュー、塩味を強く感じるものがいくつかあった。 朝７時早くレストランに行ったので空いていて数名の客しかいなかったが、席に案内した男性は隣のテーブルと数十センチしか離れていない２名席に案内しました。すでに隣のテーブルには一人客がいる模様で、わざわざ空いているのに隣のテーブルを勧める意味がわかりません。 見知らぬ同士が席間が狭いテーブルで気持ちよく食事できるでしょうか？ 混んでいて自らが選択した席なら致し方ないですが、オープン直後で閑散としたレストラン内で案内する意図が理解できず、サービス精神ゼロと感じました。これから混んでくるので最初から詰め詰めでするやり方だったのでしょう。 ひとつ空けた２名席を希望して座りましたがテーブルに汚れが見られ拭いてもらいましたが、朝から不愉快極まりない対応でした。

I cannot overstate how wonderful Sakura Terrace is. All comments through the lens of a solo, young, female traveler. Customer service: highly accommodating. Last summer I was supposed to come stay, but got stuck in Tokyo while my baggage already made it to Kyoto- the staff, with the front desk at the hotel I was at in Tokyo, arranged to ship the luggage back to me, extremely helpful. English-speaking level varies among staff, but I had zero issues. The room: clean. The room I stayed in was particularly spacious compared to other places I’ve stayed at in Japan. Facilities: They have public baths open mornings and evenings. The female baths (all I can speak on) were clean, well-managed, and extremely relaxing after being on my feet all day. Warning: if you’re not used to it, the water is very hot, so look into it if it’s your first time. Amenities: in room amenities as standard. If you need a larger set of hotel clothes, you can just ask at the front desk. The complimentary drink, while nothing necessarily to write home about, is a very pleasant experience and they sometimes have live musicians playing. I did not look at their library area, nor did I partake in breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot comment on that. Location: easy access to Kyoto Station (~10 min walk), with a subway line directly accessible in front of the hotel. I had no issues with noise, even though my room faced the street. Safe area.

Overall the stay was okay - small room but it is Japan. Most of the staff were great but one morning I experienced ridiculous customer service. I wanted to make a tea at 9:40am but was told I had to wait until 10am as breakfast was still going. I asked if I could simply make a tea and drink it elsewhere, or have the staff member make it for me (pour hot water into a mug & add tea bag) but was told I had to wait until 10am for breakfast to finish. I thought this in itself was poor customer service and demonstrated a lack of common sense with the prioritisation of rigid rules over common sense. So I sat down and waited. 5 minutes later another guest wanted to make a coffee and experienced another staff member stop her, much like I had been stopped. She was advised the same as me; she had to wait until 10am. Okay - fair enough right? This is where it gets ridiculous - she advised she had paid for the breakfast and already eaten - before returning to her room to get ready for a meeting. She only wanted a coffee before leaving but was told she would have to pay for the coffee, even though she had paid for breakfast. The morning staff here have no common sense and do not care about customer service - they only know how to follow rigid rules and are incapable of thinking for themselves. I now know several customers who will never stay here again.

Sakura Terrace was very conveniently located just about 8 minutes south of Kyoto station. We had an easy time either going up to the station or East to Tofukuji station depending on which lines we needed. There is also a subway stop directly outside the front door that will take you on a North/South line through town, which you can transfer from to visit Nijo castle or Gion. The staff was really awesome and helped us ship our luggage on to our next destination. Check In and Check Out were both painless. Free drinks at night are a nice bonus after a long day. There is a ridiculous amount of dining available both in smaller, quieter restaurants by the hotel or for much busier ones in the food halls at Avanti, Kyoto Station, or Porta. The only negative I found was that we got very early starts a couple of days to beat the crowds to Fushimi Inari Taiga and Arashiyama and got back too early. The cleaning crews always wrapped our floor at 3:30 or 4 and getting back at 2 p.m. felt like a drag if we wanted the garbage emptied and we usually wanted to sit and rest a bit before finding something new to do.

Top location, less than 10 min walk to Kyoto station and literally near a metro exit, with good bus connections as well. Luggage storage if needed, public bath, welcome drinks, room with decent size and well organized. Comfortable bed.

I've stayed at this location twice now during my travels to Japan and both times it has been amazing! The rooms are nice and comfortable. I like that it is a very short walk from the main shinkansen Kyoto station. There's also an entrance to a train station right outside the hotel. Multiple conbinis nearby. They offer a daily welcome drink which is nice! The breakfast is really good too! The lobby is so relaxing and has live musicians often! The smoking section is small but covered from rain. There isn't much to do in the immediate area. You definitely have to taxi or train to get to anywhere cool, but I like that it's centralized to make it easy to get to the different sights and temples at different ends of Kyoto. Although To-Ji Temple and Rokusonnō Shrine are some of my favorite places to visit in Kyoto and they're only a 20 minute walk from the hotel. My only real complaint about the room is there's only like 2 power outlets and they're not in convenient spots, so maybe pick up an extension cord from Joshin across the street. Otherwise the rooms are great!

Very nice breakfast. The hotel provides a very quiet place that we can enjoy simply a drink or a cup of coffee, free of charge. I am fond of the atmosphere there and the live music show on the platform. I would also like to point out the Japanese onsen that I like most. I highly recommend this hotel to all my friends.

朝食メニュー、塩味を強く感じるものがいくつかあった。 朝７時早くレストランに行ったので空いていて数名の客しかいなかったが、席に案内した男性は隣のテーブルと数十センチしか離れていない２名席に案内しました。すでに隣のテーブルには一人客がいる模様で、わざわざ空いているのに隣のテーブルを勧める意味がわかりません。 見知らぬ同士が席間が狭いテーブルで気持ちよく食事できるでしょうか？ 混んでいて自らが選択した席なら致し方ないですが、オープン直後で閑散としたレストラン内で案内する意図が理解できず、サービス精神ゼロと感じました。これから混んでくるので最初から詰め詰めでするやり方だったのでしょう。 ひとつ空けた２名席を希望して座りましたがテーブルに汚れが見られ拭いてもらいましたが、朝から不愉快極まりない対応でした。

Fantastic location only a 10 minute walk to south entrance Kyoto station. Rooms were comfortable but basic.you can only plug in three devices at a time. Free welcome drink each night was fun. A way to meet other visitors. Staff was very helpful with any requests. Breakfast buffet had a good variety of item to choose from. Only improvement would be better exhaustion extraction system in the smoking room which is located right beside the lounge/common/breakfast tables. Unfortunately when smokers go in and out the smoke pours out into the public common lounge spaces. Or we found that smokers wanting fresh air would leave the door open. Maybe even an alarm that would signal that the door was left open would help? Also if you are a light sleeper make sure you book the rooms with a balcony then you will not be facing the busy road. No view from the balcony but it’s quiet.

Staff were helpful, and amenities were great with public baths, a free drink in the evening, and free coffee and tea throughout the day. The lobby was well maintained and had a great vibe. Super accessible using train line right outside the door which connects to major stations. Absolutely loved it 10/10
