10/10. The staff was really nice and helpful, they had free massage chairs in the lobby, a free wonderful gender devided onsen, and one of the best breakfast buffes I've been to in Japan (and abroad overall). The room was spacious, clean and the tub big and definitely deep enough for a 175cm person. The beds were comfortable. The only downside was the thin walls - I did not hear any neightbors, but I did hear every person in the corridor and all the traffic outside. Especially the sound of the crosswalk beep was loud, and I haven't had those issues with hotels in Japan before. I was so exhausted at night though that the traffic didn't bother me. I liked the dimmable lights. It's also very close to Kyoto Station (and Aeon mall which has got a big supermarket). Overall very happy with my stay.

The rooms are small and If you are coming from the states and want to work before breakfast in the lobby dont count on it. They have multiple empty tables in the lobby but they will not let you use them before breakfast. They are apologetic about it but firm about kicking you out. But the public bath was nice. Hall carpets were dirty. Close proximity to station. Breakfast was great but a little pricy.
