Chose this hotel for a night's rest before heading to the airport. Food was decent at the restaurant, the waiter was great. The room was standard, nothing special. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the shuttle bus is nice to have. BTW - it goes every half hour, on the hour and 30 minute mark from the hotel, and every 15 and 45 minute marks from the airport, I believe from A9 if I remember correctly. I sent a message requesting this and didn't hear back, so hopefully that's helpful. Not a bad place for a night's rest before a flight.

Relatively inexpensive. Great value. Excellent location only a few miles from Schiphol airport. Also includes a very convenient shuttle bus that runs every half hour to and from the airport - making it easy to get back to the airport within a few minutes and then catch the trains. A very nice bar and dinner restaurant.

It would have been nice to have the room cleaned and coffee restocked. For even a better experience, it would be great to have slippers and a robe like other hotels I’ve stayed at. The pool sticks need to be fixed as well. Out of 6 sticks, only one wasn’t broken at the tip. Made it difficult to play doubles

Super shuttle Service vom hotel zum Flughafen. Jede halbe Stunde fährt ein Bus kostenlos. Das Hotel an sich ist sehr schön und das King Bett ist der hamma.. Selten so gut geschlafen. Die Lage ist etwas schlecht weil jede 5 min ein Flugzeug direkt am Fenster abfliegt und es laut sein könnte wenn man das Fenster offen hat. Zum Glück gibt es da 2 Fenster die man als Schallschutz nutzen kann. Das Frühstück war solala. Der Preis ist für die Auswahl etwas hoch.

Our go to sot whenever we travel to or through Amsterdam. Free, convenient shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes to and from Schiphol so travel from there via train is easy. Wonderful soup for a quick evening snack and extra friendly staff.

Overall the hotel was ok - just! It was somewhere to base out of and sleep whist visiting Amsterdam again. But nothing to write home about. Cleanliness was very poor. One of the pillows was very badly stained asked reception to change them and was met with ‘ok we will see if we can find some for you’. Rather than profusely apologising etc. Took two attempts at asking to finally get new pillows. Bathroom floor filthy. The type where you take off a t-shirt and it drops on the floor momentarily, and you go to pick it up and it’s covered in dust lines and dust marks. Good point was the the hotel’s shuttle bus runs every half hour till 11pm back and forth from the airport and always on time. Train tickets are £10 pp each day return to Amsterdam. This was pretty much the cheapest hotel in Amsterdam or around it. And you get what you pay for. And we appreciate that. Overall the hotel and stay was ok. Would I stay again? Probably not.

The minute I got to my room, I had to ask for housekeeping to come vacuum. Large dust balls with hair on the floor and leaf debris. Also got hit with an unexpected 12 Euro tax at checkin. No indication this was expected. I did not have to pay this at check in with my hotel in Maastricht. Housekeeping only happens when requested, which is fine with me, but when I asked to replenish coffee, cream and sugar, they didn’t come. No room service. You can order food to go and pick up to take to room. You cannot charge anything to the room. Anything ordered at bar or restaurant must be paid unless you are there on company business. Restaurant food was very good as well as breakfast. Morning coffee is free. Beds were old. They have a mattress topper which made it ok. Bathroom sinks did not drain well. Shower was good. No luggage rack so luggage had to be on the floor. Wifi good, tv good with adequate channels. Overall stay was ok. Nothing to rave about.

Absolutely disgusting rooms. No heating in the hotel for all nights. Reception don’t care and just fob you off and no offer of any compensations or anything! Absolutely disgusting! Rooms are absolutely filthy! No housekeeping that bother! Management don’t care. Breakfast disgusting. Whole hotel is just a shambles! Avoid!!

Reception was friendly and quick. I was given a room on the 4th floor almost at the very end which made me walk a long way. When I got there I saw that the toilet seat is unhinged and I’m glad I didn’t use it yet or I could possible fall off. Reception sent an employee for the room across and when I checked out the bathroom the one side of the toilet seat is loose as well and wiggles badly but not as bad as the first room. So, I decided I have no more energy to ask for another room and just lived with it.

The airport shuttle was very convenient. The people at the front desk or friendly unhelpful.. My only complaint is the thermostat in my room would not turn on fortunately it was not too cold or too hot of a night so I was comfortable. The other thing was the bathroom sink was leaking onto the floor, which is why the garbage can was underneath it. But I was comfortable and able to sleep well for a nice price.

Hallways were dark. Staff was not exactly friendly. Not rude, but not very accommodating. Room was quiet. Door to bathroom was self closing and unable to be propped open, which left it poorly ventilated. Bed was comfortable. Curtains enabled room to be completely dark. Espresso maker with two free pods was a nice plus. Mini fridge was also nice to have.

Airport shuttle was on time. Staff at the reception desk where very friendly and welcoming. The service in the restaurant was dreadful. Had to wait for more than 10 minutes to be served. Absolutely terrible customer service. We have not experienced this kind of unfriendly Cust service any where else so far Washbasin in the washroom was clogged. Refrigerator in the room was non functional for the entire period of our stay , inspite of bringing it to their attention When we checked in , we were assistant given keys to a Room # 234 , which was occupied by some guests when we opened that room it created a very unpleasant situation for us as well as the guests in that room . Thereafter we were assigned Room # 335, without any regret or remorse. Customer service in the restaurant was extremely poor. This Hotel can become an institution to train staff for providing POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, in case needed. We will regret our decision for choosing to stay there for long time . I hope you may take some suitable decision, so that other tourists do not face this kind of situation. Thanks

The staff I interacted with were very helpful but I was given the key to a room that was already occupied, walked into someone else’s room while they were sleeping in the middle of the night! I was then taken to another room that the staff weren’t entirely certain was occupied or not. At the end of the day I did have a place to sleep but it was not a smooth check in and the bathroom/room was not very clean. As an airport hotel it would be helpful to have an alarm clock in the room to help with early morning flights.

The Bastion is a great place to land arriving and leaving the Netherlands. Rooms are super clean and staff are friendly. 10 minutes away is a bus stop that takes you directly to the city of Amsterdam, about 40 min. ride. Very convenient. There are some very nice restaurants about 25 minutes walk along a busy road or a quieter garden walk behind the hotel. Shuttle bus is easy to find at the airport or there is a bike path from the airport directly to the hotel. Although there is only a bike stand outside the hotel if you are a bike traveler. The front desk area is shared by the Best Western and they are under construction, so it feels a bit chaotic on arrival. Breakfast buffet is very good for a small hotel. We stayed at the hotel twice on our trip and would recommend it to others.

We really liked this hotel and the main selling point was the free shuttle to/from Schipol. I think this is the most compelling point for most people because there’s really no scenery (it’s industrial) or easy access to anything else, although there is a McDonalds at one end of the parking lot. This is a clean, quiet, comfortable place to stay and we found it fit all our needs. There is a restaurant and the breakfast is very nice but pricey. A tip for American travelers: A majority of European hotels typically don’t offer shampoo and conditioner, only shower gel. Bring your own.

We stayed at this hotel for a 1 night stop over before flying out of the airport. The airport shuttle service is convenient and very good. Our room was a good size, modern facilities and very clean. The area is quite far out from the city center so not very convenient for sight seeing, but the location is good for airport transiting. Hotel staff were efficient and friendly.

Took 3 times to catch the shuttle as it was only a large van that seats 8. Turns out they actually have a bus so unsure why they didn't use that when there were nearly 30 people all waiting for the same time. staff didn't give any information at check-in - no details about wifi access, restaurant/bar hours or menus, location of fitness amenities or the fact that the pool was closed. no conditioner or lotion in the room. Restaurant was wildly understaffed, out of multiple food and drink items, took nearly 2 hours to get one drink and my meal - no check in to see how it tasted, if I needed a refill or dessert, etc. Had to go up to the desk to ask for the bill after trying to flag down a staff and asking to no avail. when checking out in the morning the staff was on their ipad and completely unaware of the time and caused me to miss the shuttle and then had to wait additional 30 minutes. clean and safe but for the price and the proximity to multiple other airport hotels would not stay here again.

Good price, clean, modern, minutes from airport. Bar and Resto very reasonable for Airport hotels, service was ok, food was good, timely and hot, bar items also well priced. Recommend for pre-flight stay, not for vacationing, as it is too busy and too noisy in lobby area.

Decent room for the price. Cannot expect too much out near the airport. There was a loud air vent blowing constantly in our room that made sleep difficult. The front desk clerk was nice. However, the dining room staff were almost all poor-to-terrible. There was only one staff member who knew what he was doing and everybody else was easily overwhelmed. Several patrons had to actually chase after staff to get basic service, and still received attitude. The only other dining option out there is McDonald's next door. I suggest going there instead.

Nice hotel, but confusing light switches. Couldn’t turn on bedside lamps. Great, modern bathroom, but no wash cloths for face. But it was my first Holland hotel in 10 years. Remember westerners to bring your European adapter so you can charge your phones. Finally good restaurant, bar and huge, fabulous free breakfast with a cappuccino machine!
