Close to all major roads in less than 10 min of driving. Parking and the tv size was a huge plus. I loved the silence here.Location was great close to 7 11 and Mc Donalds.

Hotel is def older and needs an update but bed was comfy, staff was very friendly, easy parking and surprisingly quiet overall. Had to open the windows and doors for a few hours to disperse the over bleach smell and no blanket was on my bed but a few hours later the staff came by with one without me asking. Room had fridge microwave and coffee maker, everything I needed. If you just need a place to sleep it works just fine. They should get rid of vehicles with tarps in parking lot.

Motel San Diego has everything you need for convenient stay in SD! Convenient location in PB, close to the freeway so it makes a great center point to visit all other SD neighborhoods. Nothing fancy but for those of us who don’t need all the frills, it’s got all you need! Price is great, and a major plus that they don’t charge for dogs to stay too. :)

Location to access highways very good with the exception always having to go south to leave and enter from the north. Room service was non-existing. Nothing but microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator; no utensils. Great water pressure and temperature. Free parking and right in front of room.

This little motel seems to be amid a slow remodel. The price was perfect (low, low) and we felt safe staying there. Clean enough, no bugs spotted. The family that runs the motel was nice and laid back and made us feel welcome. We were able to park right by our room door. They accepted our pet, a puppy, like it was no big deal at all. All this was GREAT and when funds are low we would definitely stay there again. Great location as well. Areas for improvement: Our room's shower walls (tiles) were clean enough but in terrible shape making the shower unappealing. Our room had no art on the walls and no dresser, table or desk as shown in photos. It had a bed, TV, one nightstand and one little chair, along with small fridge and microwave. A suitcase stand or a table to use as such would have been very welcome.

It’s super cute on the outside. The room was cheap and it was functional (for sleeping and showering, not enjoying) and that’s about it. If you get back to your room too late at night, you might not get a parking spot. There are some people who might have extended stays at the hotel… And you might not want to have your room next to theirs because they stand outside smoking cigarettes and they keep their TV really loud. Just saying. But if you don’t need any luxury in your life, then this motel is for you!

Really difficult to see traffic when you are trying to exit the parking lot in a vehicle. They have a surprise security deposit after you pay for the room on-line. They refunded the entire deposit when I checked out.

Place was nice and hidden by the palm trees but getting out of the place was tricky. Really liked that there was a McDonald at walking distance and a gas station. Also it was near the freeway so very convenient. The room itself was okay. Good size bed, hot water and tv. The place needs some remodeling for sure but for the price it was decent. Staff was friendly as well.

The property did not have much space for my dog to go potty, but it is totally pet friendly, otherwise. The room was the tiniest I'd ever been in but it had everything we needed! King bed, microwave, fridge and a teeny bathroom with a nice shower. To top it off a great price to be so close to the beach.

The main purpose of getting this room was to sleep before driving back home to AZ. It worked out perfectly for that. The room itself, room 12, was not horrible. But, it wasn't the nicest either. The good things were that the beds were clean and made. The AC was working good. Decent restroom with a standing shower, toilet, and sink. The TV was nice. And the mini fridge was good. The bad things were mold in the restroom on the ceilings. There were black ants in the restroom coming out of the grout line of the wall tile next to the toilet under the window. When we woke up the sink was full of the ants around the drain. I guess they were attracted to the toothpaste. There was no hair conditioner, only shampoo. The nightstand drawer had debris in it. There were other little things that really didn't affect my stay. Overall, I would stay here again if it was just to rest before a long drive.

The outside of this hotel is adorable. The room itself was doable for what we paid, but the thing that was not okay was having a streamline of ants in the bathroom, and bed bugs. We tried to talk to the front desk once we saw the bedbugs to potentially get a different room but they were already closed, so we immediately booked a different hotel and got out of there. The next morning we went back to check out early and explain what we found and they just didn’t seem apologetic or even cared. Such a shame cause it is a cute place just infested.

I like the old hotel feel- room was clean and very comfortable- close to walking to get food or beverages- what I didn't like is the owners has puppy dogs barking and whining in the middle of the night- one night it was 4am!!!! The traffic noise during the night on the highway was ridiculous-all night long- They should put up sound proof curtains

This property was pretty gross. Had to change room due to stained sheets and cockroaches even though the room claimed to be clean. There was mold on the ceiling in in the shower, the blankets were not clean, had other people‘s hair and cigarette burns in them. The floor was filthy your socks would turn black after walking on them, and there was used napkins under the bed. None of the rooms look the same. They are all advertised as the best rooms there in the photos, the owner is very nice though, but other than that, it was a terrible place and the mold is a serious health issue.

The hotel is very very very old. No WiFi. We had to change rooms because the TV wouldn't stream due to no WiFi. I am just glad it was just a one night stay or it would have been an even worse experience.

The bed was clean which is the main requirement of any hotel, so we were generally satisfied with Motel San Diego. However, the sticky surfaces, nails sticking out of the window frame, and a general need of hastily done repairs left us with a mitigated impression. Not exactly the most picturesque area of town but very well located in a central location. Would mainly recommend for a short stay of a few days in San Diego.

You get what you pay for. This place is adequate and does have some downsides, like the sheets are pretty itchy and everything is a little old and rundown. However with the price it’s clean and in a good part of town. The cleaning lady (we didn’t get her name) is AMAZING and really helped us out when we were in a bind. Overall friendly and decent for the price.

It’s a great location to get to all the beaches and easy access to I-5 which is great. There is a reason why the outside photos are far view photos the outside is falling apart! They definitely have a show room for these photos the bathroom is SO small you can’t bend over without hit the wall, now light in the shower so it’s dark, there was mold in the bathroom, the toilet wasn’t secure, A/C blows like warm, lamp don’t work only had 3 outlets but only able to use 2 because one is on the ceiling, but the beds looked new that was a plus.

The room is small, and silly things like no shower curtain and no rod in the closet for clothes hangers made it more of a pain to stay here. In my rush to book a place, I forgot to specify a non-smoking room. It didn't bother me, but my girlfriend does not like the smell of smoke (so smelling it after the fact wasn't great for her). Noise from the freeway and the nearby road is noticeable, but I usually sleep with earbuds so it's not a big deal.

Really difficult to see traffic when you are trying to exit the parking lot in a vehicle. They have a surprise security deposit after you pay for the room on-line. They refunded the entire deposit when I checked out.

Our room wasnt resdy. Check in was at 3pm . We checked in at 4pm. No offer of any discount or offer to make it right. The shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold. Could not get in it. Basically had to take a sponge bath. No ice machine. Wifi poor connection so streaming on tv kept loading. Heads up $60 cash deposit required to get the room. Cash comes back to you upon checkout after the room is looked over by front desk and everything looks ok. The patio, if you call it a patio needs a lot of work. Not up to par for hotel guests. Vending machine does not work but front desk has key to get into it. The front desk is actually not a lobby at all. Its a walk up window like a gas station. If you have a dog you can use the patio for your dog to do their thing. Would only stay here if you are in a pinch. Otherwise pick somewhere else for your last minute stay.

Close to all major roads in less than 10 min of driving. Parking and the tv size was a huge plus. I loved the silence here.Location was great close to 7 11 and Mc Donalds.

Motel San Diego has everything you need for convenient stay in SD! Convenient location in PB, close to the freeway so it makes a great center point to visit all other SD neighborhoods. Nothing fancy but for those of us who don’t need all the frills, it’s got all you need! Price is great, and a major plus that they don’t charge for dogs to stay too. :)

It’s a great location to get to all the beaches and easy access to I-5 which is great. There is a reason why the outside photos are far view photos the outside is falling apart! They definitely have a show room for these photos the bathroom is SO small you can’t bend over without hit the wall, now light in the shower so it’s dark, there was mold in the bathroom, the toilet wasn’t secure, A/C blows like warm, lamp don’t work only had 3 outlets but only able to use 2 because one is on the ceiling, but the beds looked new that was a plus.

The room is small, and silly things like no shower curtain and no rod in the closet for clothes hangers made it more of a pain to stay here. In my rush to book a place, I forgot to specify a non-smoking room. It didn't bother me, but my girlfriend does not like the smell of smoke (so smelling it after the fact wasn't great for her). Noise from the freeway and the nearby road is noticeable, but I usually sleep with earbuds so it's not a big deal.

Place was nice and hidden by the palm trees but getting out of the place was tricky. Really liked that there was a McDonald at walking distance and a gas station. Also it was near the freeway so very convenient. The room itself was okay. Good size bed, hot water and tv. The place needs some remodeling for sure but for the price it was decent. Staff was friendly as well.

It is an old and outdated property. Not even a TP holder. The night stand was filthy. Towels were really rough and not really clean. The only good thing was the location to beaches. Would not stay again or even recommend.

If you're just looking for somewhere to sleep for the night for cheap then it's fine. No extra amenities like coffee or breakfast or Anything like that. The room has a weird smell. The entire place could really be updated.

Very peaceful and quiet stay. Rooms are old school and show age , but well maintained. Bathrooms are small and no space for your toiletries or countertops, shelves etc, so keep that in mind. Has a sliding , sorta hanging door on bathroom also. TV has plenty of Steaming channels like Neflix etc . Fridge and micro were working fine, also had a small little coffee ☕ maker. 🌞

Clean room, friendly staff, easy check in but old hotel so it is what it is. Location is perfect, easy to park and watch your car right out your window. Pets stay free and safe potty places around for them to do their business. Bonus is walkway behind hotel to walk safe from traffic and even to IN and Out Burger less than 1/4 mile away. McDonalds is right across the street which is good since no coffee maker to speak of in room. Does have microwave and small fridge-Perfect Walls are thin, shower/water pressure sucks but not a deal breaker, Already booked my next trip, very affordable for San Diego.
