The hotel is nice and has lovely staff. My negatives was there was a McDonald's box in the corner of my room, not sure how it was missed tbh. The other bit is the parking I paid extra for parking in the back for 20 which is alot. But when parking at the front its 15 for 24 hours and you get a free welcome drink. the hotel parking should be cheaper or at least off a welcome drink. Really close to town, would stay again.

We had a lovely stay - super-welcoming staff, well-appointed rooms and a very convenient location for the town centre (few mins walk) and the G Live venue. We booked 3 of the smallest rooms for a Saturday night in late January and were upgraded to the classic doubles. They made sure to put us near each other. The included breakfast was great - full English and very varied continental buffet with nice touches like homemade jams (if buying this separately it was £14 for continental per person and £17 for the full English). The one and only slight negative was the lack of a lift - our rooms were on the 2nd floor and less mobile guests may struggle slightly. There were plenty of rooms on lower floors though.

The hotel is in a good location is you are looking to visit the town. The room was small but ok. Parking is not free, so be warned that you will have to pay £15 on top of your room, which is not the best! Also, the hotel bar closes at 22:00 on Sunday, I have to admit this was a bit disappointing.

Disappointed that had to pay additional fee for parking. However it's not made very clear when booking through Expedia. I only realized when contacted by hotel the day before arrival. Shower bathroom very cramped. Toilet roll rack very poorly located. Difficult to reach once using facility. On the plus side: Toiletries, towels and contents of room tray goodies very good. Bed was comfortable. Enjoyed our food in the evening in the bar/restaurant. So overall ok.

Overall good. Inly things to bear in mind is you need a physical card to cover the £50 room expenses deposit. Crazy really as its normal not to have physical cards as most just use phones... I was very forunate to have brought one... hotel needs to change this policy as I am sure there have been many an awekward conversation where customers dont have physical cards! Only other not is parking is £15 per night extra.

I went there for an Anderton’s guitar event and chose the hotel for its proximity to a train station and the town centre. The people who work there were very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The event room is very spacious and has a bar making the hotel ideal for hosting future events. I would have no hesitation in booking another stay and Guildford is lovely town.

Lovely place to stay my only problem is there is no lift and carrying my case up the stairs to the 2nd was a bit draining . The staff are very nice and kind from the reception to the bar and restaurant. I will definitely come again 😊

I was there for a Christmas party. The room was fine apart from some broken tiles in the bathroom and some stains on the wall. The party event itself was good apart from the food service which was a complete disaster made worse by totally inexperienced staff and an obvious absence of any supervision or management.

We were given a free room upgrade when we arrived, all the staff were very friendly, room very clean, breakfast very good. Hotel was in walking distance to the main street and the theatre we visited. On ly stayed one night but very pleased with everything.

We stayed here for one night and it was lovely. Parking and check in was quick and easy. Room was clean and had everything needed including a great tea tray selection and lovely toiletries to use. We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar too and service was good. The location is great for walking in to the town centre, no more than minutes walk, would definitely stay again if we go back to Guildford. 😊

Disappointed with room as first night there was a wedding going on way after midnight hard to sleep because of the noises and then second night woke up early in the morning thanks to binmen sounded like they were in my room. Not a relaxing stay over both nights.

We stayed here during a work trip. It was a great place to rest and spend time in the room. They have a bottom floor that’s underground that one of the staff put us in when we arrived early but was so appalling that we asked to change. The room we got was wonderful on the 1st floor, I don’t know if they see Expedia and just give you the worst room but it’s not the first time its happened in London. I also needed to upload 50gb and although the staff didn’t know how to help, we figured out ourselves that the internet is is way faster in the conference room close to the router that in our actual room, which saved me. It’s a great place to stay if you’re in town for work or pleasure. Would recommend.

Beautiful hotel , breakfast was really good ,hotel spotless , our room overlooked a flat roof with two air conditioning units which hummed continuously which if i wasn't staying for just the one night i probably would have complained about .bathroom was tiny. We were a large group who had different room types , my mothers room was lovely . I think it depends on where the room is in the hotel.

Hotel is good location for the theatre and ok price wise. The room we had (classic) was very small and actually a basement room so very dark and hot! We could hear everyone flushing toilets and every time we ran water or flushed our toilet, it sounded like one you get in aeroplanes - very noisy!! Bed was comfortable enough and the room aesthetically pleasing but it is an old building so creaky floor boards / stairs meant we heard everyone moving above and around us. There was also an event on so we had to listen to the base of the music until midnight. Staff very friendly though with the interactions that we had. We were just using as a base for our theatre trip so it was fine for what we needed.

Felt like we were in basement with cleaners there was a window that wouldnt open & looked out onto a brick wall not the best outlook. Also cupboard for hanging clothes couldnt use as it smelt damp & unclean. These problems you dont expect with a 4 star hotel room didnt reflect the money paid.

Great breakfast and friendly waiting and reception staff. Unfortunately was woke at midnight by a member of staff entering my room. When asked to leave they advised they needed to fix the radiator. They had made a mistake with the rooms however they did not knock or didn’t leave swiftly when asked too.

We checked the reviews before travelling to the venue. Nobody mentioned stairs. However there are stairs everywhere. The hospitality team were amazing, particularly Kieran who seemed to be everywhere exactly when needed. All the staff were friendly and helpful but overall view was that they needed more staff. Service in the restaurant was slow etc. Hotel has been renovated well but rooms are very small and car park access limited and pricey. Smallest bathroom I have ever encountered in a hotel. More like a downstairs toilet with small shower. Adequate but that is all.

Located in a safe area of town close to dining, coffee and shopping. Walkable to bus and train stations, bus stops close by if you prefer. Hotel is lovely. Reception is up a few steps if mobility is an issue. Staff is friendly and always looking to improve your stay. Bar, lounge and restaurant are modern. Their cream tea was amazing and reasonably priced. We stayed in a triple. The room was lovely. Beds were comfortable, bathroom had towel warmer and towels were luxurious. Shower had good water pressure. We would definitely return again.

I stayed for two nights for work in Merrow. The room was small but adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had intended not to park at the hotel but on street parking was expensive and limited. Instead of paying £20 per night for residents parking I was able to pay £25 for 48 hours parking just in front of the hotel. I took the receipt in and got a ‘free’ drink from the bar but it would have cost £7! Breakfast was good and served from 7am. Dining options good. I had the Mandolay burger which was nice. Highly recommended.

A great find! Perfect location for the town centre, but also very quiet. Easy parking at the front of the hotel, £15 for 24 hours, or you can pre book with the hotel for £20. All staff were excellent and check in was easy. We had a Junior Suite which was very good, perhaps not quite to our taste. Huge corner bath with rainfall shower, but almost impossible to use due to the location of the shower curtain. Carpets do need a bit of a clean! Lovely touches with the toiletries. We couldn’t find information on the hotel website re breakfast times, and unfortunately Expedia website had incorrect info, meaning we missed breakfast by 10 minutes. It’s a very early finish at 10am on a Saturday, but they welcomed us in to the restaurant, and we very much enjoyed what we did have. We didn’t eat dinner in the restaurant the night before, and it was empty when we walked past it. But it looks lovely and the menu seems good. We had an enjoyable short stay and would definitely return if ever in Guildford again.
