I didnt like that the tub did not hold water also the fact the sofa bed was broke also it still had chips in it open from previous guest. Staff was great though. The infoor pool is small an extremely cold. Other than that great area.

Paid for parking and there was no spots to park in because the gate was broken and other people who weren’t staying at the hotel parked there. The manager then shrugged their shoulders and gave me a map to park 2 miles somewhere so I could walk back in the night hour of Birmingham. No assistance was even attempted- there were about 5 other people with this same probably.

My wife ensured they had an indoor pool to be able to spend time with the grandkids. What she did not think to ask was whether the pool heater was working. As it turned out, the pool was too cold to swim in; we were told the heater had not been working for months. Very disappointing!

Rooms were very clean and staff was very accommodating. However my primary concern was limiting available parking . This hotel occupies over 100+ rooms , however only 75 parking spaces. This’s absurd to me the only alternative is to park on the street or park on another hotel premise and pay $35- 40 at owners expense! Secondly no available forks to eat during breakfast, was just told there wasn’t any available.I visit the area regularly due to my daughter attending UAB , this will definitely be my last experience at this hotel!

Employees were so nice. Lots of choices for food around the property. Must pay for parking. Breakfast was not good. Pool was very small and had WAY to many chemicals in it.

This property was easy to get too. The room was very spacious and just what we needed after a night out on the town. However we had a few white spots on the carpet that I HOPE and PRAY was dried toothpaste. We also saw several small roaches crawling around the kitchen area. I told front desk and all she said was she would talk to engineering. I have no idea what that means. But other than that this was a great close spot to lay your head.

The absolute worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Stains all over the couch, elevators that couldn’t be used, limited parking, it was awful. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but we left after one. My son woke up the day after we checked in with bites up and down both arms. I’m a RN so I immediately recognized them as bed bug bites. He is still in pain and itching horribly. This was brought to the hotel staff’s attention immediately. They apologized but did nothing to remedy the situation.

The room was a good size. However, the overall room experience was very low quality. Not clean or everything in poor condition with stains on furniture, lamps with tears, sheets with holes, filthy handprints on surfaces and just not a clean feeling. Bed linens were thin and cheap. Bathroom door wouldn’t lock or shut. Shower curtain wouldn’t close all the way, so water inevitably got everywhere on the floor. Silverware in the drawers was grimy and needed to be washed. Pull out bed was extremely uncomfortable and low quality and it clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Just a overall yucky feeling to the room. The parking garage gate wouldn’t close. Luckily they didn’t charge us for that. Breakfast was okay, but missing water and restocks on items.

This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The couch was so soiled, nobody wanted to sit on it. Our bedding had burn holes in them! Overall just disgusting/run down and dirty. We tried to leave but the front desk employee said that they wouldn’t remove the payment from my card!! Slowest and rudest service ever. It seemed like almost everyone was having some sort of issue at this hotel; standard not met, missing basic necessities from their rooms, issues with check in and parking, etc.

While the staff was excellent, the hotel could use a lot of maintenance attention. Using my 5G LTE was 5 times faster than the hotel's WiFi, the tub stopper would not work, I had to use a bathcloth wrapped around it, the shade on the floor lamp next to the couch would fall off since it was missing its anchor nut. The AC unit in the bedroom was very noisy when the compressor came on. And the worst was how uncomfortable the bed was. I know these things are small things, except the bed and the AC noise, but it did make our stay unpleasent.

We really enjoyed the space of the room, a studio with 2 Queen beds and a Queen pull-out couch. The kitchenette was a perfect size, and we loved the full-size refrigerator. Our only complaint was that the room was stuffy and humid our entire trip (3 nights), even though the thermostat was set on the lowest setting at 60 degrees. We were also charged a $30 incidental fee that no one could explain. There was no refund. Check your bill when you check out.

I enjoyed my stay. Had a suite because I anticipated more people coming. I was impressed with the size of entire suite that included a full size refrigerator, 2 glass top burners, a dishwasher and utensils. I would definitely stay here again.

Room was spacious and clean. Well stocked with essentials to prepare meals. Dishwasher and a stove top with full size frig in room and also had ceiling fan. Breakfast was amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location perfect to UAB and Kirkland Clinic and restuarants. Coffee was not great but there is a cozy coffee parlor Bandido less than a minute walk from the suites. The Horchata is amazing there. Highly recommend staying here if you ever find yourself in Birmingham for an extended stay.

The staff was fantastic and made us feel welcome and at home. The furniture in the room was old and tired. You could hardly sit on the couch or chair in the living room. The breakfast was decent and the common areas were updated and comfortable.

I had to call down for towels and toilet paper on the second day since no one cleaned our room all weekend and we only had a small amount to start with. Also the second night was awful I had to call the front desk 2x about the room above us. It sounded like they were having a party. It was so loud! I was awake listening to them most of the night. Called twice and brought it up on check out and no one cared. She didn’t even say sorry. Breakfast was good but by 9am a lot of stuff was out or almost gone. By the time it was filled again I had eaten scraps of what was left. Overall it was very expensive for what we got. I feel like almost 1k for 2 nights is a lot to not have your room cleaned, have to call for toilet paper, towels, and listen to loud drunk people all night?! It’s not like I was staying at a Super 8. lol

When we showed up for our confirmed reservation we were told it was a first come first serve basis and that they no longer had our room. We could spend more money than what we had already been charged but they couldn’t do anything else for us. So we had to look Elsewhere for a room late at night

We usually stay at Homewood suites in other areas . Birmingham is the best yet. Very affordable especially for weekend. It looked like some remodel if not it was best I have evet seen with homewood suites . I would not have any trouble using the really nice sofa rollout bed The staff were fun and they had the fire pit Going . Well decorated for Christmas Give them a try quite impressive

When we got to the Homewood Suites in Birmingham, we discovered that the Handicapped Suite which I require was not available. However, the manager, Tracy, told us that she would take care of us. AND DID SHE EVER! We were given the President's Suite with no difference in charge from what our original room would have cost. What luxury we were treated to. I also want to give a shout out to Shimika of the kitchen staff who made sure that I was taken care of at the breakfasts. I am wheelchair bound and she went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. The service my wife and I got during our stay was absolutely wonderful.

I once loved this hotel but this last trip was AWFUL! They cancelled our reservation without notice or anything and told us they don’t call if it’s booked thru a 3rd party. Horrible. Customer service HORRIBLE!

The beds were so super comfortable, nice seating area and desk. Stayed 1 night but loved the mini kitchen area. Fridge was full size. The restaurants around the area amazing. Get the Insomia Cookies! Rockys Pizza had incredible Ceasar salad and pizza as well. All within a few minutes of walking.

The hotel itself was fine. The room was large and comfortable. The hotel is located in a not so great area of downtown Birmingham called Five Points. I thought I had booked the Hilton on the edge of UAB’s campus as we were visiting my daughter who is a student at UAB. Five Points is not an area to be in after dark. Another thing is there is no on site parking. They direct you to a parking garage also located in Five Points or you can use street parking. We ended up parking our car at my daughter’s apartment and she just picked us up and dropped us off. Bottom line, the hotel is fine, the area is not and we will not stay here again.

Property was very nice and clean. Staff was very polite and helpful. A lot of bars around so was very loud late into the night (stayed on a Saturday. If they ask you to park at the garage across the street, I would insist on parking on property. If that’s not possible, park your car during the day and Uber wherever you need to go. We went to a concert and when we came back around midnight the garage was full. Saw some, questionable activities while trying to park in this garage. Ended up having to find parking elsewhere.

This is such an amazing hotel! We stayed because our son is playing in the AHSAA semifinals and this hotel is extremely close to the Legend Arena. Upon check out they let us know that they were having complementary soup, salad, snacks, beer and wine from 5:30-7! It was perfect because they broke out a karaoke machine and my daughters sung their heart out. We will definitely be back!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotless and large. The breakfast buffet has lots of options with one or two staff members constantly replenishing the containers and responding to your requests. One morning while we were there they even made individual smoothies to order. It's a block from Five Points so there are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance. Perfect place to stay if you're in town to see the Civil Rights era museums -- all are about a mile or two away and there's free or cheap metered parking near them.

Convenient location. No coffee at all in the 1 small pitcher and after notifying them and waiting 10 mins still no coffee. No bacon, empty container... only shredded chicken for meat. Only fruit was green apples. 1/2 pitcher of milk in a small container and only "real" plates which I was told I could not bring to the room for my wife who was not feeling well.
