Scholar Morgantown, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

We arrived late after flying into Pittsburgh, unfortunately the “Parking Garage” was completely inaccessible due to a steel door blocking the entrance. After checking in, the staff member opened the “Parking Garage”. The “Parking Garage” is a dilapidated warehouse with every window busted out. We went to our room where the smell of smoke and mold was gagging as soon as we cracked the door, but the more disgusting “Amenities” were the dead cockroach and the condom full of “Baby Juice” just laying by the bed. The pictures online definitely do not match what you’ll arrive to. The place really needs a fresh coat of paint and a full demolition by a D9 Dozer. My charge is still “Pending”, but apparently they won’t be charging me. However, I only received verbal confirmation of that from the staff member who checked us in and back out in under 15 minutes. Whatever you do, sleep on the street before considering this hotel. It’s a cockroach infested biohazard, and honestly Morgantown or Hilton needs to demolish the place. At least the staff member was friendly enough given the situation, I just hope he was also honest about not charging me over $1,000 for my cancellation. Update: I was not charged for my stay.

I was disappointed that there was an add'l parking charge of $12. and the parking, while secured, was extremely tricky with the slope and spaces available. The toilet ran all night - did report to the front desk. The property is accessible to many restaurants/stores.

Worn and dated. Parking building sucked for a larger vehicle. NOT a 4 star hotel.

Room was clean, staff was great. No parking for Hotel and had to pay for parking in their lot. Should be a benefit of the stay

The parking garage is difficult. The stair is not open so you have to go in the car ramp area.

The parking garage looked rundown. Spaces were tight and driving in there was tight. I wouldn’t say anything except that there is a $12 charge to park in this garage. The room was clean and nice. Beds were comfortable.

The hotel seemed run down. Furniture was falling apart and the room smelled so bad both my son and I woke up completely congested. The staff was super nice though and the lobby was lovely. Convenient location.

The staff is accommodating and the rooms, very new and clean. Would definitely recommend as this hotel is much more centrally located than some pricier establishments in town.

It was just ok. Front desk was extremely friendly and nice. The bathroom fan didn't work. The ceiling had visible water damage / mold. The pul out couch had one measly thin little blanket and when asked for more was told "we can't do that". Rooftop pool/bar area was permanently closed down and looked all trashed when peering out the window. Breakfast food was microwaved frozen eggs. Was I grateful for a place on short notice? Yes. Would I stay here again? No.

Cleanliness and upkeep weren't great.

Good location. Furniture in the rooms was outdated and worn. Bathroom door was peeling from water damage. Flooring needs to be replaced.

The parking for large vehicles is in an old parking ramp that the elevator does not work on weekends.to unload your car you have to pull in a tunnel then back out into a main street. The windows are so thin you can here conversations on the street. That a bar is across the street and plays music outside until midnight. in 80+ hotels we stayed in this was the worst

Hotel was very nice and new. The shower felt very high end. Our only issues are that the pillows are hard and you can definitely hear people walking on the floor above.

Rooms were large and clean. Fitness room has a good variety of equipment. Staff was very courteous!

Rooms need to be updated. Tv only had 4 channels and hallway is durty

The staff were friendly and helpful when giving recommendations for restaurants and travel distance from the hotel.

One of the worst stays I’ve had in my life. Two nights in a row of disturbances inside the hotel in the middle of the night for an hour plus each. I was told by front desk lady that it’s a “city hotel” no apology or anything she just acted like it’s normal there and no one does anything about it I guess. I’ve been to way bigger cities than Morgan town and never had this happen two nights in a row with front desk not caring. If you’re planning on staying with your family look elsewhere. For this price you can do way better. I usually only stay at Hilton’s but this Hilton will never se me again.

Always a great experience and love staying at this hotel every time in Morgantown. The hotel manager and staff is incredible! Highly recommend.

The staff at this property really made us feel welcome. They even remembered us from two years ago! The front desk staff and the housekeepers were very friendly. Definitely would recommend and we will be staying again.

Upon check in I was never told that I would be paying $15 a night for incidentals or $12 a night to park in the attached parking garage - I had also put my do not disturb sign on my door when we left for the day on Saturday morning - but upon returning to our room on Saturday evening - housekeeping had come into our room.

Very close to the college walk to restaurants and bars.

The hotel itself was great. Please be mindful you are close to downtown Morgantown so it is loud at night outside the hotel. We heard people yelling until about 4 am.

This is an awesome hotel in downtown Morgantown. Within easy walking distance of the WVU downtown campus and many businesses and restaurants. The rooms are very nice provide all the comforts you could ask for. Highly recommend.

A little loud at night but the location is perfect and worth the noise

Good food

We love staying at the Scholar when we are traveling to Morgantown for WVU sports or events. It’s right downtown, so convenient to bars and restaurants. We walk everywhere and even take the convenient PRT, which is a very easy walk from Scholar. The staff are the best! The hotel is clean and always has what we need. Can’t wait to be back!
