Very cute environment with a lot of shared spaces downstairs. Check in is self check in and the app did not work when we tried to check in ahead of time. Bar/ restaurant was very convenient when arriving late and hungry. It is pricey, but good quality. Many amenities you are used to having in your room they will not have. Which is fine, if that was reflected in the price. No in room irons, have to go to a separate room. Only 1 towel for 3 days, per guest. Everything in the room is controlled by an iPad or an app on your phone. iPad had most of the screen not working. App on phone worked but it didn’t allow for much bathroom lighting without lighting up the bed area. Bed is very firm so I had a hard time sleeping. Overall, I found the hotel to be charming and I loved the shared spaces but I could pay the same price for a larger room and more amenities in the same area.

I enjoyed this property, the location was close to Harris teeter, Starbucks and several other places. The hotel itself was nice as well. The bar was open til 2am, the lobby/living room vibe was great, 24 hour gym, and the room was great too. There’s no deposits when booking your room and check in and check out is contactless. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The only issue we had was parking. We found something on the side street and didn’t pay anything for that however we had to drive around a few times waiting for a spot to open. The car didn’t have any issues however it is a gamble parking on the street.

What a fun and unexpected gem of a hotel. Not overly pricey, rooms are funky (you can set your own colors for mood lighting!) and very comfortable, breakfast buffet (moderately priced) was delicious and included hand-crafted coffee drinks. Highly recommend if you are looking for something different from standard large chain hotels.

Very clean and fun for the efficient traveller. The staff is incredible: friendly, helpful, kind, always available day and night! Only bar in the area open late for all of us on an earlier timezones. Used the gym couple times--towels and water available there. Rooms are compact--great for one, snug for two unless you get one of their larger rooms. The ipad control of the room is fantastic. On demand hot water in the sink and shower. I would stay here again.

This is a great hotel to come to relax. Staff were so friendly and helpful from the reception area checking in to the bar tenders and security. The breakfast buffet was great and everything I tried was delicious. Will definitely be staying again! (If working while on vacation be aware there is no business area.)

Great spot for me and my daughter to stay while in town for a concert. The room is small but nice and cozy. My only complaint was the parking situation. We did use an app (Spot Hero, i believe) to find a garage within a 5 minute walk so it all worked out. In all fairness to the hotel, parking in Washington seemed to be a logistical nightmare regardless. The staff at the bar were awesome and the food was a good sized portion.

The staff was very friendly, and overall it was a good stay. A few things to improve on: 1. The TV in my room needed to be unplugged by the second day. It would power cycle every minute during the night. I reported the issue, but it was not resolved. 2. The towels were like sandpaper and no washrags were provided. 3. Issues at check-in after a delayed late night flight....a dedicated reception staff should be present to greet the guest and offer assistance.

I had a lovely stay. My room was small, but exactly what I expected. The price was just right! The bed was very comfortable, the shower was hot, everything was very clean. Loved having the blackout shades. Everything was easy to operate from the iPad on the nightstand. The lobby was cool and they had a water bottle filler which I appreciated. Staff was super friendly.

This stay was very pleasant. A few things I would have changed is the towels did not smell very fresh, nor did the bedding, although it did look nice and clean. The TV did not have any channels without commercials, that would’ve been nice.

The air was very clean. There was no tabacco smoke coming from the air vents. There were no pets on the premises. This is paradise for a person with allergies. Checking in and out were both very fast. The night shades completely block all light. You can't tell whether it is day or night outside - great for sleeping.

It was a great stay, the rooms are small definitely intended for someone younger. I enjoyed everything especially the modern features regarding lighting and the curtain system. My only complaint is that Chromcast didn’t work at all, but that wasn’t really a dealbreaker.

Small capsule size rooms resulting in claustrophobic environment with price similar to other hotels in the area. One king bed is against the wall. Not for couples or families. It is self check in and check out with unfriendly kiosk person. The only good thing is close to Capital Hill. Lot of homeless folks in the area.

The room is tiny, with a TV at the foot of the bed. The TV had a message that to turn it off, use the iPad or use the citizenM app. There was no iPad so I had to download and configure an app just to turn off the TV and go to bed. There was no hot water at night, and sink water pressure was very low, so it took forever to get to bed. The bed was also hard and uncomfortable.

Although the room was small, every detail was thoughtfully organized — everything had its place and felt very ergonomic. It gave me Japanese/Asian vibes where every square inch counts. The room was spotless, the shower was excellent, and I especially appreciated how quiet it was. The blackout blinds worked incredibly well — it was pitch dark even after sunrise. Another highlight was the iPad-controlled “room mood” system, which let us adjust lighting colors, TV, blinds, and shades with ease. Overall, we were very impressed with how much comfort and functionality was packed into the space.

The CitizenM is a well equipped, high tech, and straightforward stay that was perfect for me as a solo business traveler. The bed was comfortable, the blackout curtains were very effective, and the design of the whole hotel made it all feel upscale. I especially appreciated the large bath towels!

This is not a hotel, 106 Feet, I have stayed at the Amsterdam Airport Hotel. This kind of space is understandable in European airports, but in Washington, D.C., it is like living in a capsule. The bed is against the wall on three sides. Don't stay in the hotel with two people, because the person sleeping inside has to climb over the person next to him to get out of bed. Two people can hardly turn around in the space, it's terrible! This is not a hotel.

Rooms could be too small for some but I loved how it was set up, for a solo traveler it gives you luck vibes and a cozy space to decompress in. Once you get used to the flow it works so well. Would recommend to anyone so long as it's solo or a couple, could be a bit cramped for a couple IMO.

Had issues with first room, front deak seemed annoyed and made me feel as if i wasnt being truthful. Then they had to move us to the another room where i originally paid for a higher floor and they wanted me to move down to a much lower floor. As i made the argument about whybi wanted a higher floor, he magically "found" one. The staff wasnt inviting or made you feel welcomed. Love the hotel room and amenities it was amazing, but staff and issues were not fun.

One issue after the next in one of the rooms I reserved 649. I reported an issue to the front desk about electrical outlets not working, including the tv. I was told that the issues would be addressed first thing Saturday morning. No one showed up. I reported it AGAIN and was told that a ticket was not entered in the system. Upon our return to the room on Saturday evening, hours later, the simple issue was fixed. I was extremely disappointed with the service we received! We won’t be returning because nothing about this hotel made sense. The rooms were tiny, no wash clothes, no working refrigerators in either room and challenging to get in and out of the bed for the person sleeping next to the window. The trash cans were tiny. This place is NOT recommended for the disabled, obese, elderly, computer illiterate, babies or children! Very disappointed!!!!

I absolutely ADORED my experience at CitizenM. From the moment I walked in, a young man by the name of Bishop welcomed me and helped me check in. He gave me all of the information I needed and made me feel welcomed. I really appreciated the warm welcoming environment after traveling for almost 12 hours all day. Additionally, the room size was PERFECT. I can see how it may be a little compact for 2 people, but if all you’re using the hotel for is to sleep and shower, you don’t really need more space. It’s comfortable, moody, and unique. I like to live by “less is more.” I also appreciated that everything is within distance and there is a great variety of food options. I also lost my hotel card and the guest services was quick to issue me a new one. Overall I felt very safe here. This hotel changed my experience of hotels for the better and I look forward to staying at another CitizenM hotel in the future. The price, location, amenities, and service were all worth it.

The lady who checked me in on Sunday afternoon was amazing and friendly. The bartender on Tuesday night was efficient and experienced with his drink making. The hotel was amazing and comfortable!

The stay was incredible, the facilities very clean and beautiful. The lobby is a good place to have fun. The rooms are clean and you can control some features from your device. Cons- The train station is far away from the hotel. There is no parking, and parking places around the hotel are expensive, the neighborhood near the hotel is not safe at all, there are many homeless people around, I thought twice before arriving late at night walking to the hotel.

Although this is in a decent location it was not safe at night. Being that we have stayed at plenty of these specific hotels, other locations are much better! The TV’s didn’t work for all of the nights we stayed so that knocked down a star. Do yourself a favor, is you are planning to do any sight seeing; book the capital hill location and not this one.

Easy check-in, check-out. Beautiful lobby and bar. Room is perfect for one person (towels are a little rough, but fine; bed only has one thin ish comforter and the mattress is firm). The room was a little cold and the iPad controls did not seem to affect the temperature, but otherwise the room was tidy and efficient. The location is fantastic in terms of being next to the metro and union market (less than ten minute walk to either).

This hotel was excellent. The cozy yet efficient room was perfect and I loved the lighting and layout. Nice and quiet at night too! Staff was present and friendly and the property itself is well maintained. The only negative was the area outside the property. A lot of riff raff and sketchy individuals. If you're used to city life, this isn't too off-putting. Close to the train and nice places to eat nearby.

Work trip. I did not eat breakfast. The staff was great. Always ready to help. There are two citizenM. My internet was acting up so I went to the wrong hotel. I was booked at the Nor Ma. Self check in and check out. The room was clean but small. It was a three days stay.. They clean every three days. Great hot water. I felt safe. Lots of restaurants around. Metro 5 minute walk. Great hotel!

The interior design concept of the rooms, maximizing space, but bringing in an exciting contemporary design was very cool, even to this 70 year old man and his wife. The property was very clean, we were nicely greeted and welcomed. The included breakfast, although limited in choice, consisted of high-quality product and was a nice addition. The cost of the room was very fair and competitively priced. I would highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was quiet and very comfortable. I love everything is controlled by a tablet. The breakfast was good. Actually really good, just overpriced. All in all, it was a good stay and I'd come back again.
