Hotel Banana Boutique & Spa by Paradise Hotels - 5th Av Playa del Carmen

When you read the reviews and they say this property is noisy all night long-this is not an exaggeration! In fact, it’s an understatement. This hotel is nestled between and above two open air restaurant/bars (TieRra & Agave) and they both have live bands every night (930pm-3am)!!! So, you’re not just hearing one really loud band, you’re hearing 2, at the same time; every night!!! Also, the only “pool” is an unheated hot tub. Luckily, when we were there it was not too busy, there are only 2 sun loungers. The balcony was very small, just enough room for 2 chairs. There are no blankets or bedspreads, just a top and bottom sheet. No extra towels for beach (2 blocks away) or “pool”. Otherwise, great location; no parking.

Lindo lugar, habitaciones amplias y limpias, bonito decorado sobre la 5ta ave. Tiene restaurante bar propio y te hacen descuento cuando te quedas hospedado y tiene una terraza muy linda para estar tomando algo y ver el movimiento de la avenida a gusto. Lo único malo es si buscas un lugar sin ruido pues está en medio de todo el bullicio de la fiesta tanto del propio vas cómo de los alrededores. No hay estacionamiento propio pero puedes pararte en la calle con cobro de taxímetro de 9 am a 10 pm

This small hotel was in an excellent location, just steps from lively 5th Avenue and a 5-minute walk to the beach. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel itself had a relaxed, hacienda-style vibe—bohemian and cozy. It’s not luxurious, but it has a charming, down-to-earth feel that I really enjoyed. Noise from nearby restaurants might bother some guests, but it didn’t affect me. The beds were comfortable, and the cleaning was done daily. The rooftop terrace, while a nice touch, is quite small, with just a couple of sun loungers. That said, the overall atmosphere and proximity to the beach more than made up for it. I also want to highlight the attentive and kind staff at the restaurants downstairs. They truly went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Overall, it’s a lovely, casual place with its own unique charm—perfect for a relaxing getaway, especially if you value a great location and friendly service! I would go back in a heartbeat.

No parking but it was worth the location

The noise from the bar was excessively loud with two bands performing nightly at the same time. The removal of the pool was quite disappointing as well from my stay before. This place kinda lost its luster for me I’m sorry to say

The only thing going for this place was location, the check in process was ok. Had to pay an extra $120 pesos for cleaning or something. But the rest of the amenities is not up to par first off you walk in there’s no elevator so I think it says it in the description. Second I stayed in 20 one walked in barely any light had somebody come in confirmed there’s no extra light inside the room to see the curtains were dirty. There is no little mini fridge for any possible cold drinks to be stored. The toilet button was hard to flush. No hair dryer. They charge you it u stain any towels or bedding. No FREE parking like it says , this was so disappointing because it says they had. You have to park in the side of the street , it’s 10 pesos per hour. Parking fee is from 9 am to 10 pm. So I had to plan my days based on this. It was annoying to have to come back and put money since it only allowed you to do 6 hours at a time.the pool ? What pool , it’s like a Jacuzzi that was not maintained it’s on top or the roof , the area is not well kept. The second floor common area the cushions are dirty , stained. Over all the simple things like hair dryer and mini fridge and just not keeping the property nice , I wouldn’t go back.

En general esta sencillo pero bonito el hotel estaba muy limpio y nos hicieron muy bien la limpieza siempre ,la habitación que me toco estaba pequeña pero bonita solo que la puerta de mi habitación era con llave y sentía yo que no cerraba muy bien (las demás habitaciones abrían con tarjeta )y el lavabo del baño no servía muy bien la llave se tiraba mucho el agua y caía al piso

Desde el día que llegue les estuve diciendo que el internet no funcionaba, nunca pudieron resolverlo, y daban y daban excusas. Necesitaba trabaje y nunca pude conectar la laptop al wifi. Por estar sobre la quinta avenida y arriba de un bar, el ruido es demasiado. Solo de 4am a 6:am NO hay ruido. Al momento de desténseme la cama las sabanas y y una funda de la almohada hasta con sangre donde no las cambiaron, y las toallas viejas, rotas de las orilla, se veían muy sucias, y no olían nada bien.

ESTUBE 3 noches y la verdad la propiedad necesita arreglos el balcón sucio el lobby sucio la limpieza solo me limpiaron la habitación 2 veces no la limpiaron diario no había papel sanitario en pocas palabras no vuelvo y es mucho ruido en la noche no se puede dormir en paz 👎

Es un lugar bastante céntrico y todo queda muy cerca. La gente es muy amable. Sin embargo, en cuestión de limpieza no es lo mejor. La habitación, el cuartito de spa y la recepción, tienen demasiado olor a humedad. Cuando realizaron la limpieza, queda un olor a trapo sucio. Creo que el la relacion calidad precio, van muy de la mano, por lo que creo que no estuvo tan mal. Definitivamente si deseas un lugar para descansar, no te lo recomiendo en absoluto. Abajo hay un bar que tiene música en vivo y acaba hasta la madrugada. Por lo que siempre hay muchísimo ruido. Se escucha cuando están limpiando el bar porque suenan las botellas. Pero si eso no es problema para ti, entonces es una buena opción. Si me preguntan si volvería, probablemente si.

Nunca sirvió el internet y la tv solo funciona con wifi. Por lo tanto no se pudo usar.

Mucho ruido, nos cambiaron al cuarto de amero arriba y aún así el ruido es fuerte, el agua en el baño cuando te bañas va y viene, en fin, un viaje de 4 días, al segundo día nos salimos, eso sí los que atienden muy amables y me reembolsaron los días que no estuvimos

This definitely is not the Hotel's fault. But fair warning before booking: There is a bar downstairs that may or may not have a live band. So unless you are a part animal and stay up until they leave at 1 a.m. I would not recommend.

Great location on 5th avenue. I walked there from the main Ado station when I arrived, and walked to the alternate Ado station to leave. Everything is in walking distance. You're not in the rowdiest part of 5th avenue, but there was still very loud music blarring late into the night. But this is to be expected, it was not a surprise, just bring your ear plugs. There is construction there now, but it didnt affect my stay. Front desk staff was very friendly. I would stay here again.

The music from the hotel’s bar was SUPER loud - the walls were vibrating until around 2:30 AM. It was impossible to rest or fall asleep. If you’re planning to wake up early or want a quiet stay, this is not the hotel for you. The staff were kind and friendly, but the constant noise completely ruined the experience.

The location is good, but Wifi doesn't work well, none of the windows are sound proof, impossible to sleep at night, there is a restaurant at the first floor with live music and few meters away there is a night club, so if you want a chill place to sleep, I don't recommend it.

El hotel está ubicado en una excelente área. Accesible y fácil, para poder disfrutar de todo lo que Playa ofrece. Fuimos un grupo de 4, ingresamos sábado a la instalación y domingo no contábamos con servicio de agua. No podíamos tener acceso a bañarnos y hacer uso del toilet. La situación del agua el domingo parecía un accidente. El equipo de trabajo del hotel no fue empatice, no tenía conocimiento de absolutamente nada, no ofrecieron opciones para resolver la situación. El grupo decidió comprar botellones de agua para poder bañarnos y le pedimos el reembolso al hotel. Fue un dolor de cabeza lograr que se reembolsará el dinero, ya que ellos no hacen reembolsos. El lunes en la noche nuevamente no teníamos agua ya entendimos que es un comportamiento de hotel. En servicio al cliente tienen 0. Deben mejorar su comunicación y capacitación al personal. Y la gerencia estar más atenta a su equipo de trabajo. O proveerle las herramientas necesarias para que puedan dar el mejor servicio. Yo no le recomendaría a nadie hospedarse en este lugar.

Nice place to stay centrally. The staff was superb and helpful in every situation. If guests are sent to a third-party site for breakfast, they should be informed that it is a fixed breakfast only not ala carte. So I had to pay. Finally, for yourselves Not the hotel, I requested a stay in Cozumel and was given this hotel which was 2 taxis and a ferry ride across the water each way to get to my cousin in Cozumel itself. This was the most disappointing experience and in 2 days, no rest for me during my visit. If I ask for Cozumel please don't show me Playa del Carmen!

Un excelente hotel, las instalaciones están muy bien aunque tiene ciertos detalles pero nada que afecte la estadía, ubicación perfecta literalmente esta en la 5ta av a 20 min caminando del parque los fundadores y a 1 calle de la playa mamitas, el único pero que pondría sería que el restaurante-bar que está abajo del hotel si hace mucho ruido, en lo personal no me impidió dormir pero entiendo que sea muy molesto y sobre el personal pues nunca se acercaron a uno pero si les hablabas eran muy amables.

Giving this high marks not because it's an amazing luxury resort, but for the price and what it is - excellent place to stay in Play del Carmen. Notes - it's right in the heart of the main strip so it is loud with club/bar noise at night, no two ways about it. But for the price and location you can't beat it. central and walkable to everything, easy walk to beach and all that 5th AVE has to offer. It's clean and felt safe, but is no frills. Looking for a low-cost trip to Play Del Carmen then this is it. Don't expect luxury, but for the price - it was great.

Es un hotel con la ubicación perfecta para tomar tours, cuenta con un restaurante con muy buen ambiente y comida rica y a unos pasos está la bodeguita del medio. Es perfecto para disfrutar de todo lo que Playa del Carmen y Cancún ofrecen.

Recomendable, es un lugar agradable céntrico está super cerca de la playa de mamitas, puedes llegar caminando desde la terminal de ADO al hotel. Tiene un super mercado cerca, muy buena ubicación.

It's a little loud from the bar below but it well worth it. It could have just been the room I was in.

It was pretty fun. I stayed here for a month. There was always something to do around the corner. I enjoyed how convenient it was. And you were right around on fifth so you can hear and see all the activities and not be too far from them. And they had a great restaurant called La Tierra underneath.

La habitacion excelente, muy limpia, cómoda se encuentra muy bien ubicado el hotel, justo en la 5a Avenida la cual es muy concurrida la seguridad sobretodo a unos pasos de la playa, el desayuno el rico la atención excelente lo recomiendo en verdad lo que pagamos fue justo quedamos satisfechos me volvería a hospedar ahí y lo más conveniente es reservar por medio da la aplicación te respetan precio eso es buen servicio 😊
